Hey! What's up! I left this organization because it was a complete JOKE. No one threw me out, not one member of my family is DF'd. Guys, I'm here because of the way they treated YOU and the SILENTLAMBS not the way they treated ME. My husband and I make this choice for doctrinal reasons.......and you guys are trying to sneak in the back door?

A complex question who of you knows the answer?
by MARTINLEYSHON inif baptism washes away your sins, as taught by jws, what prevents a disfellowshiped person who has moved to a new area and is not known in that area in attending meetings as an interested person and getting baptised within 6 months.. has anyone ever done that?
if so can the person be disfellowshipped a second time?
what would be his status.

Some Elders Have Had Mistress'
by wednesday inbeing in the org for a very long time i have seen people do all kinds of things .
one thing that i have never really seen discussed is how common it is for an elder to have a mistress in the background.
oh he may not be actually sleeping with her, but i personally for over 20 years was a second "wife "to an elder.

This is a very real Phenomena. In our congregation one elder had a inactive wife. She was always sick and never came to meetings. He had a group of divorced or somehow single sisters that called him for advice and hung around with him, brought food for him and his wife, etc. He eventually moved across the country however; when his wife had surgery one sister flew half way across the US to take care of her (a women most of us had only seen a couple of times) another sister stayed with the couple when she was in the other state. The other brothers commented on the situation heavily they called it Brother J's harem. It is common in all congregations I've been in.

In Memory of a diff.kind of Silentlamb -Pics
by LyinEyes inmost of you know about my mother, she passed away from this world 17 yrs ago tomorrow, sept. 15, 1985. her passing was very hard on my sister and me , because it was a suicide.
she had been a witness for 16 years and even almost died standing up for the blood issue in 1983, due to a stomach ulcer, and too many asprins.
her blood count went down to 2 and she had to be put in a lear jet to get to houston, tx.

What a sad story I am truly sorry for your loss of not having a mother for all these years.
Isn't it typical that when a person is broken and needy, when a person is suffering so much and requires help and compassion---then the fine "christians"/JW's throw that broken human away. Your mother was beyond a doubt a SILENTLAMB

How did we EVER do it all?!??!?!
by poohbear1962 inthere has been something that has been bothering the "engineer" part of me for a lonnnng while.
we have heard it from the platform time and time again about what we should be doing as "servants of god".
so, today i finally sat down and calculated if it is even possible to do all of the study, meetings, field service, secular work, school, etc, etc.

One thing about a schedule like that: IT PREVENTED ANY ADDITIONAL SECULAR EDUCATION.
I am going to college this semester and I really enjoy it. I was wondering why I didn't go to school during my 27 years in the org. and I remembered. For two semesters I took a Monday night class but with a full time job (one hour commute each way) and the meetings and service, plus cooking, laundry, housework etc I was just too exhausted. And so I quit the class which is the only choice I could have made with the peer pressure/congregational influence involved.

I'm glad to see this topic relisted I think it's important for the rank and file to understand.
We're discussing it at http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=36532&site=3
In particular the point made by the Society's Lawyer Colin Stevenson argued that Momm and his allies were confusing the spiritual law of the Witnesses, which imposes a three-year statute of limitations on such things as abuse, with the law of the land, which requires immediate reporting.
And how this statutue of limitations is used to keep the CLEAN IMAGE

Watchtower is a $986,000,000 +/- a year company. Their main commodity is IMAGE; to sully that image is a major infraction. If you are DF'd or DA'd there is a 10 year penalty. Cover up the crime for three years and nobody cares any more. Poor Wolfgirl got zero justice because her father (the elder) was able to molest and lie but he did not tarnish the CLEAN IMAGE. Slander or damaging the image by telling the truth (apostasy) is a worse crime than child abuse .

WOW! Thanks, Silentlambs and everyone who explained that nonsense.
We now have another secret rule revealed: Get away with sin/crime for three years and you're free and clear. While the congregation was sitting there studying the 1997 Watchtower on "Known Molesters" we did not know that the 1972 Kingdom Ministry superceded the information. There is a big gap between what we are taught and what the organization does. And this relates to WTS feeling of superiority ---as JT stated we don't have the right to question anything just do as they say.

What is this? Was anyone aware of this? So if a person sinned (even raped a child) and were not reported within three years -----no Judicial meeting?
