consider one experience in which two kingdom publishers were accompanied by a small child.

at the end of the morning, the two witnesses were about to stop their preaching work, but the child was unusually eager to go to the next home.

in fact, he went by himself and knocked on the door!

Really though, that is some pure drivel. Just a variation of every single stupid JW miracle that's ever been repeated.

JWs are obsessed with persecution

over the weekend i was around a group of jw's.

i have not been in such a setting for along time so it was sort of surreal.. so this one older jw woman started to talk about her neighbors and their little girls and how much she liked them.

she said they were a nice family, etc, that they watch each other homes when they go away on vacation, etc.

I always hated the persecution whores that vehemently clinged to the idea that everyone hates them because they are the only ones with the truth. Like, really? If they thought you had the only true way to live life, maybe they would join you instead of laughing at you.

I just became a Return Visit (!)

been sick all week and for the first time i had jw's visit me since i left (actually the second time, but the first time it was just two people who asked "are you turkish" and left when i said no lol.

very strange).

anyway, since i had no voice and little strength i just let them go through their presentation with a smile, took the mags, and that was it.

Just think - now the old Jehober can give an encouraging comment at the next meeting, sharing how one of his seeds landed on the fertile ground because you took their comic books.

can you become a jehovah's witness only using the bible?.

of course the answer is "no" - you have to use their study books, washtowels, etc.

although i was raised in this cult, i still kick myself for not asking myself simple questions like this until i was a young adult.

has anyone, other than me, tried to get your friends/loved ones to prove 1919?.

did they really try to prove it to you or did they write you off as hopelessly lost or somewhere in between?

as some of you are aware, i have been trying to get my wife to prove it to me, and if not her, another believing jehovahs witness.

I emailed my close friends and most of my JW family before signing off for good basically giving them a laundry list of failed prophecies, doctrinal issues, etc. Only one of them even bothered to respond to any of these items, like 2 of them with a typical doublethink JW answer, at which point she just said that I need to do more personal study.

Active, believing JW's cannot interpret facts like 607 being 587, the JW + UN connection, or any of the other numerous factual evidences proving them BS. You could take them in a time machine to see Jerusalem fall in 587 and they wouldn't even care.

It lets them pretend like something interesting is coming up by giving it a special name, when in reality it's just 3-4 more short talks of equally boring content in a row.

today i uploaded a new article to my blog addressing the emergence of watchtower as a business.

though watchtower had always been a business concern, something happened in the late 1920s that forced watchtower to project its business beyond the front office and far into the rank-and-file.

Positives of Growing Up JW

i dont think any of us are glad we grew up in the org.

but i was thinking about people who get cancer, and if they are lucky enough to beat it often they will say that they were better for the experience.

before they got cancer they were stressed because they had to work extra hours in a shitty job to make ends meet, the kids were nothing but trouble and they spent their lives wishing that time would go faster, that week would be over, that the year would be over.

THOUGHT EXPERIMENT: What if the Governing Body ... ?

as part of my post-exit recovery, i've been doing quite a bit of thinking, trying to figure things out, trying to make sense of it all .... in the form of a "thought experiment" this question came to my mind, .

Is there even enough crap going on for them to actually sit down and vote on a policy change that often? The governing body are the rock stars of the organization and have their entire lives invested into this stuff; too much to bail out on. I'm sure there's a general pecking order and group consensus on things. Other than coming up with a few excuses they've had the same ol' story for years now.
