Being a little kid and having to leave the classroom for every holiday activity, not allowed to have normal non-JW friends, being an outcast among your peers... yeah being raised as a JW you totally have the persection/victim mindset burned into your brainwashed head growing up. Crazy!

Do You Miss Even A Little Bit Your "Friends" From The "Truth"?
by minimus ini miss a few but honestly i could count them on one hand after being in the organization for almost 5 decades.
some jws are ok but most, i simply tolerated, due to being an elder..

No, I don't, because in hingsight they were terrible fuckin losers that I would never associate with unless there was no one else - which WAS the situation I had when I was still believin' what mammy and pappy burned into my brain like a chump!
In fact, after realizing that my efforts in trying to present facts and truth about "the Truth" and having them ignored, combined with getting kicked to the curb and shunned when I needed friends most... I initially went out of my way to send my old friends everything bad I can get from soup to nuts on the JW's, knowing that it's going to make them stick to it even more. Too dumb to see the truth in front of you? and you want to kick me when I'm down? Ok fine - I will play your game, and thereby be a crazy apostate in order to enforce your faith so that you waste your life lol.

I would have lost my virginity a decade sooner.
I would have learned to make regular friends and would probably have friends now.
I would have family in my life rather than having every single one of them shunning me.
I would have gotten my first divorce for a reason better than an ancient invisible Hebrew imaginary deity named YHWH.
I would have played sports in school like mad, maybe even earned a partial scholarship from that or the grades I had.
I would have earned any kind of college degree at all rather than just being a shitty HS grad.
I would have set up a 401k or some type of retirement plan when I entered the adult work force.

JW at work hitting on me!! (for real)
by Free!! inon another thread i mentioned i met some jws at work within the past 2 months.
well, 2 of them became particularly interested and getting to know me (a lady and a guy) the lady is really nice, and the only reason i know she is a jw is because she mentioned something about no b-days or christmas and that was it... she has not tried to preach to me or anything.... .
on the other hand... this young guy, well he is making sure he becomes my friend, asked me to be my fb friend and messages me everyday at work or on fb... now the funny thing is he told me he is a jw and about 3 times already he had suggested i read my bible (whenever i post status about being bored or unable to concentrate on homework), well yesterday he sent me a message that said "i would like to talk to you tonite, maybe we can hit it up" my reaction was .

Sounds like he wants to make you part of his three-fold cord. Just you, him, and Jehovah all having wild scripturally acceptable sexy time together.

New career at 30 - suggestions/ideas?
by i_drank_the_wine ini'm in need of a career change, or at the very least a new job that i can make money at while i continue to work on computer related side-projects.
i'm burnt as hell at computer programming, and being that i am self-taught and have very little corporate experience i am not looking into doing this anymore as it's all i've done as a career for the last 10 years.. long story short, bad money crunch, no degree of any sort, a gamble to try and make my own business failed - so i need to find a new career or job.
searching the papers is somewhat dis-heartening so far.. any ideas, suggestions, or advice for this daunting task of trying to find some way to keep from going bankrupt with a new job.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys! Yes I would love to go back to college but there's no way I'll qualify for financial aid this year, as the first few months were really good. I'm wracked with debt that I'm trying to pay down, but with my business income dropping so bad I'm about a month away from not being able to pay the bills!

Further proof of no real message in OCCUPY
by free2beme ini went by a protest today.
someone was holding a sign to "stop big banks now," basically saying they agree with the government taking control of the banks and what they do.
next to this person, was a person holding a sign that said, "make marijuana legal!
