I havnt really been to a meeting in like 20 years, so i havnt heard any of the newer songs since then. All i know is, i HATED the songs back then, they were horrible. There was maybe, like 2 or 3 decent ones, out of like a hundred. I can only imagine the shit they are shoveling now, and i bet the sheeple all act like they are the "greatest" songs they ever heard. Meanwhile, their ears are bleeding, fricken joke.

@ - Divergent - While i would like to agree with ya, but i am not sure it is meant to be satirical. I think the fact that the books, and literature, were legitimate WTS shit, i am thinking "real" JW's made this. Another reason, i was checking each householder's "look", to see if any looked "worldly" in any way, and other than a few "props" like sunglasses and clothing, none had tattoos, body pircings, long haired dudes, or any other "worldly" looks. So, i am thinking that ALL the idiots in this video are JW's.
You know, in the past, this kind of stuff would have been looked "down" upon , by the Elders, and CO's. However, nowadays, with the organization becoming so "media" focused, with jw.org, and cartoons, and videos, and all the "media" the WTS is using themselves, how can they tell their R&F not to do it themselves. I think it may be one aspect of using certain media, that they DIDN'T count on. Now they have a bunch of their members, putting up videos, and blogs, and all types of avenues, that are probably BACKFIRING, and giving a "bad witness". Again, how can they enforce this, and it would be very hypocritical for them to say "WE" can, but "YOU" cant. Idk, just a thought.

Just playing Devils advocate here, but does it maybe? have to do with once the 144,000 get up there in heaven? Once they are all up there, or, are almost up there, could that have to do with it, THEN being a new heaven?
Maybe thats the WTS's "take" on it? Perhaps someone, who is more informed about it, can let us know. This is definetely an interesting point, and other than the 144,000 crap, what WOULD be the reason for a new heavens?
Inquiring minds would like to know.

One of my good friends growing up, and still is till this day, would fall asleep during EVERY meeting, lol. Both of our families were in the "truth", and i was born in, and his family got in when he was like 5 years old. So, we were both young in the truth, together. He was never baptized, and never "excelled" in the "truth", but my dumbass was baptized at like 13, or some stupid age like that.
Anyway, i just wanted to share this stupid/funny story about my friend and his younger brother. Whenever they got to the Kingdom Hall, they were always wide awake, jumping around, hanging out with all us kids, before the meetings started. As soon as the opening songs last note was sung, my friend and his younger brother, would be OUT LIKE LIGHTS, lol. I mean sleeping, solid, out cold, lol. It didnt matter if they were in the front row, or back row, they were drooling and snoring, lol. Their mother never gave a shit, but their father would TRY to wake em up, but being that they were 2 of 7 kids, most of the time they werent woken up.
Then, as soon as the final songs lastnote was sung, and then the prayer, BAM!!!!!, they were WIDE AWAKE! Lol, up and talking, and running around, wide eyed, and not skipping a beat. Of course, growing up, especially since my Dad was an Elder, they were looked at as not being spiritually strong. It didnt matter to me, and 30 years later, i am still great friends with them.
This wasnt a story about my childhood, and the feelings i felt growing up, and all that, which i have much to say, but i just wanted to share a funny story about my friend and growing up in the Kingdom Hall, lol.

There are/were so many overly strict JW parents out there. I saw them growing up, and i here and see them now. What they dont realise, is that they are actually pushing their children away. They do it under the guise of "protecting you from the world", or thinking they are being the "best uber JW parents" there are, but the result is usually just the opposite.
They are NOT being loving. They are NOT being respectful, of you as humans, and in the 2 cases above, as adults. They want to "protect" you from the "world", but they are instead just pushing you into the "world". Its really quite unloving, and unchristian behavior. And sometimes its done, just because of how they think they will look in front of their other asshole JW friends. They want to "appear" as though, they are "great" parents, because of how THEY uphold their "strict christian rules". Its bullshit.

Nice moment today
by Theburstbubble inso it's been a few months since i last went to a meeting but i've still had lots of guilty feelings about leaving, such as am i doing the right thing, thinking about friends and family, where do i go from here etc etc.
but i think once you stop believing you can't go back.. anyway, today i had a very nice experience.
my daughter had been to nursery today and when she got home i asked her what she had done and she excitedly told me they had been doing pumpkins.

Seriously though, thanks for sharing your experience, and joy with us. I was a born in, and never experienced any holidays as a child. Specifically, concerning Halloween, i actually remember being at my "worldly" Grandmothers house, while ALL the kids in my neighborhood were ringing her bell, trick or treating, and she was handing them all candy. I was standing behind the window, trying not to be seen by the other kids, while watching them all enjoying themselves, getting treats, dressed up as whatever they wanted to be, and having fun. When i think about it now, it was almost kinda cruel. I was like 7 or 8 years old, and i DO remember the feeling of longing and feeling left out. One kid even saw me, thru the window, and the next day in school he asked me, "how come you werent trick or treating, like the rest of us". Shit, that sucked.
I got over it, and i guess it wasnt the worst possible thing in the world, but if you were a kid in the "truth", you know what i mean. I truly enjoy spending these times with my daughter now. She is 7 years old, and i am carving pumpkins with her, and all that good stuff. This time of year, we LOVE going on "haunted hayrides", and she loves those "haunted corn mazes", and all the kinda stuff you do this time of year. Where we live, in New Jersey, United States, you truly do experience Autumn, with the leaves changing colors, and the coolness in the air this time of year. This is my favorite time of year, and i enjoy it SO MUCH more, with making memories with my daughter.
So yeah, Burstbubble, i know EXACTLY what you are talking about.

The real sad thing here, is that this is all nothing new. They have been spewing this bullshit for years. The pre-1975 hype, that was riled up by Fred Franz, was spouting all this crap too. They were parading folks on the assembly stages, who just sold their houses, and "worldly" possesions, because the "end" was near, and what do ya need a house for. Dont go to college, what good is an education, when the system is ending in a year. Every so many years they LOVE to amp up this crap.
Russel had his 1914, Rutherford had his 1930's, or whatever, and Franz wanted to "fit in" with the big dogs, so he had the 1975 hype, and it ALL FAILED.
How long can you keep spewing the same old crap, and still getting it WRONG, before you say whats going on here? But the problem is, the WTS are master manipulators. They use smoke and mirrors, and half truths, but more importantly HIDE the PAST. If they keep the newer ones, and the younger ones, and the average R&F, in the dark about their previous lies and false predictions, then you can keep spouting the same old crap, but like its "new" crap.
Forget your possesions, unless its to give to us. Forget your own happiness. Forget your own ideas. Forget your own families. Forget your own education, cause we need ya stupid. Do what we say, when we say it, how we say it, and do not question, EVEN if we do not hold up our end of the bargain. This is all nothing new folks, they have been spewing this junk for over 100 years now.
