it was not unusual for the situation to heal and the bond re-built and the relationship became stronger than before the rift.
Excellent point! It is possible to become "stronger at the broken places".
well, the worst case scenario happened in my life,.
i had a topic awhile back about, have you ever thought about leaving your mate for someone else??.
i never updated as much as i should of ?.

people who profess belief in the god of the bible refer to him as the "creator".
thus, they believe that god is responsible for all forms of life here on the earth and in heaven.
the thought of even one living thing as being the creation of any person other than god himself would no doubt be a completely foreign thought to the average bible-believer.
You would enjoy a recent book written by Gary Renard called "The Disappearence of the Universe". He relates a conversation with a couple of "ascended masters" who hold that God had nothing to do with the creation of the universe. According to them, the "Son of God" (all of us) miscreated the world by wondering what it would be like to be our own gods. We dreamed that we needed a place to play God. Our ego selves (Satan) obliged by creating the earth and bodies to enhance the feeling of separation. After all, if God had created the world would it not be perfect? It certainly isn't is it! The concept is laid out in A Course in Miracles which contains a text, workbook for students, and a manual for teachers.

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this. A couple of my kids have gone through similar situations. I know how painful it was for them. As you know, it is a major cause of divorce. In my 21 year military career, I saw a lot of this. Most of the folks I know that divorced their spouses because of marital infidelity wished later that they hadn't. Professional counseling is definitely called for. Your sister in law is participating in a natural tendency that all humans have of projecting guilt onto someone else. There is a line in Richard Bach's book Illusions that may be helpful. It goes "there is no problem that comes to us without bearing a blessing in its hands. We seek the problems because we need the blessings." In your own words you said "I guess I never realized how much I loved her". Is that not a blessing? While you are not responsible for your wife's action, you are responsible for how you react to it. Drinking is not going to help. There are two ways to forgive. One is to choose to overlook an imagined wrong that was done to you. The problem with that method is that it is always there lurking in the back of your mind and tends to come out under stress. The other way is to come to the realization that the "inner you", the immortal you, the real you is untouched by anything that has happened in this insane illusion we call life on earth. I know this is advanced metaphysics but it does work. Major problems are what cause us to examine the path we are on and to make corrections. God Bless you both!
this really chaps me.
just unbelievable.
so he's supposed to take a bullet for long john silver?
The store manager probably would have followed LJS company policy if he hadn't been marched to the back of the store. He had every reason to think that he and the rest of the staff would be murdered to prevent the robbers from being identified. What he did was courageous. The LJS corporate leaders are really a bunch of jerks. In the case Big Tex mentioned about the Benigans waitress that was killed in the parking lot running after a bunch of kids "walking their tab", the reason she did that was because of the dumb corporate policy in Bennigan's of making the wait staff responsible for people who walk their tabs. Not many waitresses could absorb a $100 plustab. I wouldn't be surprised to see Benigans sued over this dumb policy by the parents of the waitress.
.
a big story in the uk right now.. from the descriptions of the childs condition on the radio, where it was said she was in constant pain, i think it would be right to allow her to die.
she has zero chance of any kind of quality of life and prolonging this suffering is just inhuman.. if scientists were doing this to an animal, there would be complaints that it was cruel.. a sad story indeed, but sometimes the kindest thing is to let go .... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3701492.stm.
My daughter is an RN who has worked in the intensive care unit of a nationally known childrens hospital here in the USA. She says that the ability to keep "premies" alive has progressed to the point beyond what is either ethical or reasonable. She has been forced to keep infants alive on machines who were suffering horribly and had no chance at any meaningful life or would ever be able to go home until the parents made the decision to "let them go". Cost is not a factor. It doesn't matter whether or not the parents can pay for the care, the hospital must do what the parents say. Ever wonder why hospital charges are so high? It looks as though Jesus may have wasted his time in demonstrating that there is no reality in death. Why is it that "committed Christians" believe that the only life is life in the body?
on my way home last night from work i ran into a prominent elder from brooklyn.
this guy is always featured at circuit assemblies and his family was presented as the model witiness family in the 80's.
well imagine my shock and surprise when i realized that this dub had just bought a lottery ticket.
How sad! He is not the only JW who has not prepared for retirement and old age. Let's hope that their children will not feel too burdened because they must help. Jehovah will understand about the lottery ticket, but I doubt that the GB will.
i have read a lot of books about spirituality, religion and self-awareness.
the one major problem i have with christianity (and despite the fact that people may suggest that i am just turned off by being raised as a jw.... i think that my point would be valid without having experienced that negative start to life).. the one common premise of christianity is that we are sinners at birth and that we need salvation, otherwise we are disrespecting god.
i have also read other books that use the premise at the exact opposite end of the spectrum...... namely that we are perfect at birth and that we, through choice, use prejudisms and negative thought patterns that end up making this "sinner" theory more believable.. i'm not suggesting that either of these theories is absolutley correct, but i choose to lean more towards the "perfect at birth" theory.
The proper way to think of sin is Self-Imposed-Nonsense. The theological definition of sin is that which separates us from God. Since nothing can do that, there cannot be any such thing as sin. We are here on this planet to learn. If we don't wake up during this lifetime, we get to come back for the "slow learners" course. There are consequences for unloving and selfish behavior. Mostly we get to suffer those consequences during this lifetime, but there is always karma.
bacon, egg, sausage, fried bread and toast.
would you like beans or tomatoes with that?.
i was curious that visiting americans find it strange that we should eat baked beans with our breakfast over here.. when else would a person eat beans?.
I don't recall having beans for breakfast when I lived in the UK, but always was served fried tomatoes. I never did get used to "kippers" for breakfast. Mostly what I remember about breakfasts served in the RAF mess was that they were small. If it hadn't been for mid-morning "tea" I wouldn't have made it to lunch.
has anyone else besides megadude seen this flic?

it has been a long time since i opened a bible but these questions keep coming up in my head so i thought i would ask our all knowing here.
according to the bible adam & eve ate the forbidden fruit and became embarrassed of their bodies so they covered up.
this makes no sense since they had been naked and where having sex so why were they embarrassed?
As has been pointed out, the story is an allegorical tale designed to answer a lot of questions about how things came to be. It is a myth. It tells a story of how mankind became aware of their separation from their creator. In my opinion, some of the most significant words in the bible are "Who told you that you were naked?".
