  How squeamish are you?

  lets say you are enjoying a glass of good red wine while preparing dinner.

  you pick up your glass for a sip and see a gnat floating on top.

  1. pour the whole thing in the sink and pour a fresh one.. 2. pick out the gnat and drink the wine.. 3. ignore it and drink the wine and the gnat.. i am a 2. i have done a 3 and it didn't spoil my appetite.. .

  Im finally leaving my jw husband.

  some of you know i have struggled with this for awhile.

  i really do believe in marriage and the committment, however, sometimes enough is enough.. his endless preaching at me and calling me and my (adult) children satan has me realizing that this situation is not going to get better.

  the other day he kicked my son out of the house for wearing a cap, in his car, with a skull on it.

  sounds like the wrong person is taking the xanax.

  although the thought of living on your own is daunting,try to turn that bit off and think of it as an adventure instead , the beginning of your new life and freedom from abuse and well worth a celebration.

  i wont say good luck cos i think youre going to love it. (and probably wonder why you didnt do it sooner)

  it was painful at first but now i see the advantages of not having needy relatives spending the weekend with me and scoffing my food and raiding my bar.

  my wife is happier too.

  it's like having a heavy rucksack removed.. i have 39 jw relatives and 38 of them shun me along with the army of ex-friends who remain in the tower.

  i tried it both ways, allowing them to throw crumbs crumbs as you put it was just a toxic contamination.

  once i'd dfd them and made a clean break it was far easier to detach from that part of my life and move on. just wish i'd done it sooner...but no point crying over spilt hindsight lol

  since da'ing my mother has always sorta kept in contact with me...until recently.. three years ago i started dating a guy, my bio father and step mother did not approve of.

  my mother loved it, she fed off it.

  my suggestion would be to concentrate on your now family who love you and dont put yourself in limbo waiting hoping, you will go through a grieving period and all the stages you would go for a real death and it isnt nice or easy but it can/will heal with time.

  if at some point in the future anything changes you will then have the choice whether you actually want anything to do with them, but you wont have wasted precious energy that would be better spent elsewhere

  Have you ever heard JWs say, "our ministry isn't about making converts", or similar? Would you consider that line of thought accurate?

  this past tuesday night, there was a part on the service meeting entitled, "highlight the practicle value of the good news.

  " the brother initiated the part by asking, "what do people mistakenly think our reason is for knocking at their door?

  " there were several comments given.

  of course they have to deny theyre recruiting, else they might sound like a ...cult.

  on the other hand when you think of how many hours we spent drudging from door to door, doing our pre armageddon house hunting with yet another faceful of abuse from a disgruntled householder (well that one wont be needing their houses after A day), it didnt really matter if they converted as long as we'd done our monthly quota to save our own arses.

  so i'd say getting a live one to buy donate for the junk mail or become an rv/bible study wasnt really a must just an added bonus.

  i can see its being important when writing a book but how about when cooking up daily fare?.

  i guestimate,

  one nan didnt use scales and taught me the tablespoon = ounce and to divide butter by sections to get the required amount, it doesnt take einstein to convert that into metric (just as well cos my math sux)

  the other nan used scales

  my mothers still screaming and bleeding to death on a plate, or cremated beyond recognition culinary skills taught me ...cooking for self preservation.

  Ms Denemu, who initially accepted the scholarship, was due to begin her five-year, all-expenses-paid studies next month at Shandong University, where she would have studied Chinese for a year before enrolling in medical school at Central South University in Hunan province.

  i just hope that leaving it so late to cancel hasnt robbed another eager and willing participant of the opportunity, or put the sponsors off helping someone else.

  my thoughts on malawi were that they were expendable fodder for forwarding borg agenda.
