At our meeting the conductor focused a lot on that picture. He said it was so beautifully illustrated that the freedom the world has really isnt "true" and that Jehovah lovingly provides us spiritual food like this so we can see the difference between what he offers and what the world offers...

Absalom prefigured young JWs who fist bump, play video games, and take pictures of themselves with the opposite sex
by JimmyPage injehovah's witnesses top the list in not being able to hold on to their younger members.
so what do they do to combat this?
do they go out of their way to change things to keep the next generation, their only real hope of long run survival?

Attendance is down in my congregation. We are at maybe 75-80% for weeknight and 80-90% for Sunday. CO is always claiming that we are low in the circuit but when I go to give talks out that doesn't seem to be the case.

If The JW Religion Wasn't So Strict Would You Be Against It As Much As You Are?
by minimus ini don't think i'd be so involved in making the truth be known if they weren't so extreme.. only when it affects our quality of life and our family and friendships, do i feel the need to tell others of what i know to be true about the religion.. what about you?.

If they relaxed their stance on disfellowshipping a lot and allowed birthdays, thanksgiving, mothers and fathers day I would stay in.
Oh and a paid clergy, unpaid clergy is just plain stupid. Half the elders are ass kissing idiots who don't give a shit, and the other half are beaten down by that half. To endure that for free is insanity.

What Did You Do As A Witness That Could Have Gotten You Into Trouble Had The Elders Ever Known About It?
by minimus inmy elder buddy and i would frequent strip clubs when we wanted to.. a few friends knew i enjoyed clubbing and music concerts and i seldom ever spoke of my private social life to others.. i know many jws, including elders, that drank excessively but that wasn't considered too big a deal..

excessive drinking, reading Crisis of Conscience, reading In Search of Christian Freedom, lying on my precious ministry reports, rated R movies, violent video games, getting oral in high school (not yet baptized). I could go on but it becomes redundant

Are they asking for it?
by Hermano inafter reading throught bluepill2's thread on the wts asl masturbation video, i wonder, are they doing this on purpose?
are they somehow hoping some of this stuff goes viral to garner attention?
are they counting on a public backlash so they can claim persecution?

I was at Bethel and yes most people who stay there longer than 5 yrs become out of touch with the real world. They seriously forget what its like to work, pay bills, shop for and cook your own food. They can't relate anymore to what happens in the real world and the result is bator and sparlock videos.

by Balaamsass inthis weekend was the convention for the southern san francisco bay area.

Those parts are almost always assigned to the best asskissers in the circuit/district. Since they stood up to take it in the ass for the WTB&TS they were rewarded. Assembly and convention parts are normally assigned depending on if the person spits or swallows.

Yes we had the full thanksgiving spread on that Thursday growing up. I continue the tradition today, even staying home from the dreadful meeting. Unfortunately this thanksgiving I have a dreadful km school that weekend.

To Any Jehovah's Witness Reading This---Please Think About Getting Out!
by minimus ini sympathize with you.
you may feel there's no where to go.
you might worry that you could lose all your friends and family.. you might believe it's better than the other religions and you should just "wait" on jehovah/the organization.. you might have doubts but you might feel a spiritual connection.. all i can suggest to you is to please think about your life.

Good advice. For some though, it is an over-simplification. It is not so easy to leave. I wish I could, if my wife would join me I could care less about the rest of my family. I wish my relationship was certain enough that I would know for sure if it would survive with me being an apostate but she is too attached to her family. I guess time will tell.
