Surely it can't continue for much longer.

1. my husband's time is finite, it's wasted on spouses arguing over money, sex or family mattters with stupid home visits.. .
i hate people's constant open hand for money, it's the weak individuals asking others to pull their weight.
my family worked extra hours instead of begging the strong members for district assembly money, cat food for seven cats or tiny little rag-a-muffins weiner dogs.. .
This thread is yet more proof that the Watchtower organization is nothing more than another harmful, mind controling cult which ultimately ruins lives.
I pity you as I have been through the whole experience myself, not unlike yours.
The day we, as a family, made a pile of 4 wheelbarrow loads of Watchtower books collected over a thirty year period and put a match to it was an incredible thing. I wish you could have seen it!
We turned our back to the fire and wiped our feet vowing never to go back.
You should remove yourself from it completely and your husband will respect you for standing up for your human rights.
I also have squandered valuable time on wastrel JW's who are not worth the time of day.
We once helped this sponging family move three times in 18 months because they would not pay a removal company. At the hall they would treat us like dirt.
Your husband is wasting his precious time-don't let him waste yours!!!
hi everyone.
i did a similar chart to the one below last year, but this year i thought i'd make it slightly more meaningful by giving the statistics across three years rather than just one.. hopefully it's fairly self explanatory.. i'm making the data i've used available in a separate pdf download for those who are interested.. .

Poor Shadow, I think he's having doubts and that is why he is lurking here.
Get thee gone to thy shadowy realm from whence thou came!
Be gone I say!
In my experience, the only thing that would motivate him to go back to the JW's is a feeling of hopelessness and/or a lack of meaning or purpose in his life.
I think you need to try and discover (tactfully) what it is that he wants from life.
The Watchtower has nothing to offer him but false promises of a wonderful life in a perfect new world. This is the perfect escape from the real and actual world that we live in but it is nothing more than a blind alley with no end that will, ultimately, make him feel betrayed and deceived.
For a long time after I left I had occaisional 'urges' to return to the hall but after quite some years (eight or so) I came to realise that this was because I had not filled the 'void' that the JW's had left with something purposeful.
My guess is that your dear husband is in a similar situation and that he has a void in his life that has not been filled. Most people join a cult because they need a purpose and if you leave, that need for meaning and purpose does not magically disappear. And importantly, that sense of meaning is rarely to be found in human relationships alone so do not be offended if he needs something else in his life.
Granted, the JW's do offer a very attractive package but when one delves beneath the surface just a little it is exposed for what it is. This is something only he can do and as I say, in my experience, if one pressures a partner into being critical of the JW's it only serves to reinforce their claim that family members (such as you) will pursecute them aided by Satan. I know its mad and underhanded but that is how they work and in order to combat their tactics you need to play it carefully.
I do hope this is at least of some little help. I'm afraid I can only speak of my own experience and I do appreciate that every case is unique. Nevertheless, I do believe that the principles remain the same so I wish you well in your efforts and the very best for the future.
It would not surprise me if he has been feeling quite 'low' lately and that this is just a reaction to it but please do keep us informed.
Love & peace.

8 not ashamed of the good news .
while it is true that jehovahs witnesses are hated and opposed in all the nations of the earth, this is in fulfillment of what was foretold to be an identifying mark of genuine worshipers of the one living and true god.
I think they lend themselves way too much credit.
People of the world see them as of no consequence whatsoever.
Just another man-made religion.

Yes, I agree. It was the content that was wrong. His talents are employed to make a false message appear more plausible.
A useful asset for the WT I would think!!!

Thankyou George.
I was almost certain I had the spelling wrong. I do know an Elgar so hence the confusion.
I remember David Algar as a particularly animated speaker.
In all probability, a very pleasant fellow.

I remember David Elgar, Barry Burtles and Clive Upton (not certain of the spelling)
They always seemed quite removed from reality.
I'd love to know what became of them if anyone knows.
This is a great topic, very interesting.
the broadcaster, july 16, 1925. .
the broadcaster was a four-page, second-class publication, that hoped to reach hundreds of thousands of persons through the mails.
later, this publication was discontinued, because so many failed to reach their destination.
we all saw this coming - http://www.jehovahswitnessblog.com/jw-lawsuits/latest-candace-conti-news/.
Just the existence of this thread and the conversation we are having is proof enough for me. Never mind all the doctrinal errors, whether they win or lose they are shown to be what they are - a money loving cult.
I sincerely envy those of you who found it easy to turn your back on the cult and not look back. It has not been that way with me as I have been constantly weighing and evaluating things even until quite recently. My wife on the other hand left a few years after me but says she never looked back and I envy her also for that. Although I was the first to leave I do have a tentative, hesitant nature which makes it very difficult to form solid conclusions about things. I just knew that it was wrong and that I needed to get out for my own wellbeing. So now, at least my kids will never have to go through it!
In short, I know it may seem like a small thing, but I have always questioned whether I did the 'right' thing by alienating myself from the congregation but after first taking an interest in this thread a few days ago it would seem that the penny has just dropped for me. That may make me appear foolish or even stupid in the eyes of many but I guess we all take things at our own speed. I do hope that is the case.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I very much appreciate all of the hard work and research that goes in to finding this information which has helped all of us in one way or another. Even as a dub I never really got to see the inner workings of the Org in the way that many of you have. As a result, I was like a child with very little insight or understanding of the duplicity of the WTS.
So thanks to all of you who have set up this site and continue to provide us with accurate info on whats REALLY going on in WT land. Those poor active Witnesses just don't have a clue what really goes on do they.
To OUR future.......and long may it last!!!
