Active JWs, hows KN37 going?

hey everybody, i had an interesting time pushing a tract that i don't believe in this weekend.

i had to develop my own method of placing it without having to talk about it, since i fear if i was confronted by someone asking "do you people think you're the only true religion", i might break down and tell the person at the door "no, i don't".

the witness at the door with me would scream in terror, and i would be insta-dfed.

Surely Anitar knows what she speaks of when talking about what jws really go door to door for...you disagree with any of it? Do you agree that the field work is about recruitment, overall...the ultimate goal?

The recruiting value of door to door ministry is long since over. If they really wanted to focus on where the limited growth is coming from they will tell everyone to stay home, have sex, and make lots of babies.

However, the is a value to the ministry. It has compliance value. In a controlling environment, such as the wt society, one always needs a way to monitor the flock. The act of "turning in your time" is very coercive in nature. Elders are immediately able to judge you level of compliance to the cult simply by looking at your time card.

Botchtower claims that it is protected by the clergy-penitent privilege, yet the history of this privilege is derived from the Catholic rite of confession. So Botchtower is trying to hide behind a Catholic-derived legal precident.

The irony of this in evident. On one side the society claims that all other religions are from satan. While at the same time they attempt to use the priviliges given to these condemned satanic groups for their own purposes.

i have been doing some analysis on the declining growth rates of the watchtower society and they are very encouraging for all ex jws.

At what point are ther more ex-jws as compared to active witnesses? Have we reached that breakeven point yet? If not, when can we project that the number of ex's exceed the number of active dubs?

Big Announcement?

i know a little while back we were all waiting to hear what the "big announcement" was.

has it already been announced or are we still waiting?

If I remember correct, the rumors about the "big announcement" started at the same time as the threads about the new tract.

I was always under the assumption that the BA was the tract. I thought that the tract is going to usher in the great tribulation or something. That makes it a pretty big announcement. Right?

Where have you found JW literature?

so, yesterday i'm at bally's (a fitness center) and i'm about to get on the treadmill.

i decided to check out their magazine rack.

let's see...'bicycling', 'sports illustrated', 'a2z', and about 10 watchtower and awakes.

I have found literature stuck in the back of pay telephones, behind urinals in public restrooms, and last week I found a tract stuck behind a pipe in an emergency exit at the hospital where I work.

recently, a poster was asking about the changes between the 1982 and 1989 issues of the live forever book.

this was regarding the resurrection of the inhabitants of sodom and gomorrah.

are they or aren't they?

I remember studying this one time with an "interested" individual. He had the new version and I had the old. When we read the paragraph I was shocked and was not able to come up with an explainiation.

If I remember correctly, didn't a later publication change the intrepretation back to its original?

Is the Bible Opposed to Celebration of Birthdays?

because, they inform us, only pagans celebrated birthdays per the bible and in each case a death occurs.

let us examine the two passages they use to support their conclusions.
