or just stopping.
I have noticed, or at least assumed, the same. I wonder how we can get statistics on this phenonomea.
Also, is it possible that because of family ties or other reasons that women see the truth about the truth but are in a more difficult position to leave?

Breast feeding?
by moomanchu inaccording to their own logic in the watchtower : fractions transfered between mother and baby in the womb.
are allowed to be transfused because jehovah wouldn't break his own law regarding these fractions.. so why aren't white blood cells allowed to be transfused?.
immune boosters.

I agree. Breast milk is nothing other than filtered blood.

Sexuality discussions on JWD
by Lady Lee init has long been the policy that serious discussions of sexual issues are an essential part of our recovery from being involved with the jws.
as jws normal healthy sexuality was taboo.
the gb states they have every right to know what goes on in the marital bed and anything else if forbidden.

I sign on to JWD at work. That last thing I want is to open an thread and an "inappropriate" picture comes up. So, I agree with your guidelines.

"We'll be over the day after"
by Wordly Andre ini don't know how others are but in my family, my grandma makes a turkey for thanksgiving, and either turkey, pot roast or ham for christmas.
all of us non-jw's go over to celebrate and enjoy the time with the family, now the jw's in the family always say, we'll be over the day after, they eat the same turkey we did for thanksgiving, eat the same food, pies, etc.
we did but just the next day?

Were The Elderly & Infirm Truly Given Assistance In Your Hall?
by minimus inour congregation had a number of elderly ones who regularly complained that no one ever helped them.
since the elders didn't really want to be responsible for them, they decreed that the family should help out first.
fair enough.

There were individuals that routinely visited the elderly. However, none of this was organized by the congregation or elders.
Some people just have the initiative and desire to help, so they do it on their own. However, I was never one of those caring people. Even as an elder I did not enjoy, nor did I have time for these types of visits.

What other cutbacks for WTS can you suggest?
by OnTheWayOut inthe awake magazines are down to once a month.
the new releases are now down to one book.. there are several "special campaigns" of offering leaflets- invitations to the memorial or dc and kingdom news.. here are some of the additional possible cost-saving measures.
please add to the list:.

The society has assets in the billions of dollars. I am sure they are looking for ways to remove the assets from the religion. There is no money in selling magazines. The money is in investing. The risk is the many lawsuits from unhappy and abused followers. So seperating the assets from the risk of unhappy followers is the ultimate endgame.
To do this they have to keep the flock busy, but at as low of a cost as possible. Meetings are inexpensive and tracts are the cheapest form of literature they have. While the minions are running around staying busy they then have the ability to focus on the real goal of asset preservation.

I am a Cabernet drinker. There are a lot of good wines in the $12 - $20. I never go below $10 and only on special occasions do I buy a wine over $20.

When Meetings Went Overtime, What Did You Do?
by minimus ini used to start looking at the clock behind me, look at my watch, look at the speaker or person handling the part and give obvious facial expressions expressing my dissatisfaction.
it was a pet peeve of mine!
a few times when i had the last part in a service meeting, i'd say, rather sternly,"this originally was a 15 minute part but because we are running out of time, we will dispense with (whatever).".

You are right, Min. It is one thing for a SM or WT study to go over 10 minutes or so. But you havent lived until you sit through an elders meeting that goes on for hours and hours with no beginning or end.
