While I agree with the view point of not wanting to be even remotely asociated
with the WTS, I feel those that are not df or da'd can do more to help those
that are still in.

As has been brought out, JWs can and do talk to those that are just inactive.

As long as inactive ones and those still in comunicate, then there's always the chance a seed can be planted.

And in time, who knows?

We just may see them here.

The Privilege of Handling the Microphones

one of the most unbelievable privileges that a brother could have was being a microphone handler.

elders would discuss brothers for hours and see whether or not we would allow them to mow the lawn or handle a mike.

i always felt that these brothers were doing us a favor but if they didn't get a minimum of 10 hours in per month, they were dog crap and couldn't have any privileges.

I could never understand why they called these things privileges.

I guess that's why I never reached out for them.

the worst magazines i tryed to place was about 13 months ago i think 1 was the watchower on witchcraft and the other was the elderly commiting suicide.i thought how the hell am i going to offer this mag on witchcraft, i think i ended giving them to the pioneers,i mean what sort of presentation could i use with this witchcraft article i suppose i could of spoke about the blair witch project and tell them how c:@p it was,i mean i loved horror films.and to make things worse the magazine about the elderly commiting suicide "oh god" that was a bad one especially when i had to offer it at an old peoples home.

so anyone on here what mags did you find terrible to place.

Fight of the Century

hbo is airing what (to me) should be an award-winning documentary dealing with the events leading up to and including the march 8, 1971 boxing match between smokin' joe frazier and muhammad ali.. since ali had been banned from boxing due to his stance against the vietnamese war, the documentary reveals, among other things, frazier's efforts to help, not just a fellow boxer, but a friend get his license back so that he could earn a living.

once, on learning of ali's money problems, frazier gave ali $2,000 and when he got out of the car, ali began taunting and screaming at joe, drawing attention to himself and a possible million dollar fight.

joe was confused.

HBO aired that show a few months ago too.

I remember going to see the fight via closed circuit.

It was quite a big deal.

Ali was always the showman and smokin Joe was a bruiser.

There were divisions among the people, but to me it was all about great boxing.

And it WAS one h#$%ll of a boxing match.

the topic of this thread is mostly directed towards jehovah's witnesses who still have some ability to think.

this topic is important to those jws who may have some doubts about their religion, no matter how small they might be.. i'm going to make perhaps, a rather startling assertion and instead of presenting all of my arguments for it, will invite others to contribute their own arguments.

if a person was to ask a number of jehovah's witnesses what was the single most important part of their religion, a variety of answers would be given, and without question, all of them would be wrong.. to put it another way, if one had the power to take away just one thing from the watchtower religion that would render it impotent and foundering like a beached whale, what would that one thing be?.

perhaps i'm just a bit paranoid..but i get the feeling that there are a few posters that actually hate me (before its assumed--no i'm talking about lack of responses to my threads.. and no i am not talking about a disagreement of opinion) i am talking about a few posters that come across to me as very hateful in their responses.. and yes i know that not everyone here will like me (even though i'm so darn sweet and cute...lol) but it is an intense animosity vibe that i get and can't seem to shake.. maybe i am mistaken and maybe its just me..... but if there is anyone out there that does dislike me that much---i am curious as to why---only because i try to learn and grow everyday and your input would be especially valuable and probably essential to that -growth.. so whats the verdict---do you love me, hate me or just not care either way?.

I don't think anyone here hates you.

What i have found from being online and on different boards
is that you can't take things personally.

These boards serve a purpose.
And I'm certainly thankful to Simon for this one but,
we have to realize that we are talking to each other via a computer.

This is basically a ciber world.
And as such, it's only as real as we make it.

But there IS life out there.
And it's up to each one of us to be a part of it.

So don't take ciber life so seriously.

And besides, I'm sure everyone here LOVES you.

THE DILEMMA FACING APOSTATES

the dilemma facing apostate jehovahs witnesses, or apostate dubs, as i have dubbed them, (no pun intended) is the very fact of their seeming success.

one of the great ironies of the apostate movement, that presumptuously boasts of "know the truth about the truth," is that apostates themselves are bound by the watchtower's own interpretive shortcomings, and hence are massively ignorant of jehovahs judicial decisions regarding his organization.

in that the presumption in operation is that if enough scandal and error can be brought to light regarding the governing body, the watchtower society's teachings, as well as individual jehovah's witnesses, then that somehow means that jehovah's witnesses have no connection with jehovah god.

You Know,

You apear to be an inteligent person.

You apear to have a love for God.

But, no matter what kind of comparison you want to make between the WTS and whatever else, the WTS with their own words and actions have proven beyond a doubt that they are nothing more than a man made and man run human orginization.

Being directed by humans with human motives.

There is not one shred of proof thruout the history of the WTS where they
have been used by God.

If you insist that they, with all of their screw ups and false teachings, are
Gods people then certainly other religious orgs. can be too.

They have ALL screwed up.
They ALL teach false hoods.
And they are ALL run by man.
