hi, dfs.. first of all, let me say it is not necessary to label yourself on this board, or anywhere on the internet for that matter.. so many of us have family members that are df'd, it really doesn't hold much water round here.

i did have some questions for you though, which of course you don't have to answer.. 1. why were you disfellowshipped?

Hi Mark,
This board is made up of JWs,exJWs and never will be JWs.
Of course there is freedom of speech here.
Everyone has a right to voice his or her opinion.
I don't think anyone here wants DF'd or yourself to stop voicing your opinion.
Those of us that have had our eyes opened to the goings on in the WTS
are eager to share and discuss that knowledge.
So of course when someone such as DF'd sticks up for the WTS,it's only natural that there are going to be those that are ready to stress what they know.
Please keep on voicing your opinions.
No one wants you to stop.

Hi Wendy,
Don't be sorry. You didn't step on anyones toes.
H20 has a certain flavor that isn't appealing to everyone.
I guess you can compare it to tuff love.
It's in your face facts.
And sometimes it's what is needed.

Re H20 - I need your ideas/suggestions

in view of the recent announcement and subsequent discussion regarding the fate of h20 i am looking at buying the domain and all the archives of h20 from rick.. i believe i can get it hosted at a local asp with which i have a great relationship.

this is where i need your creative genius.

i believe we could generate greater revenue from banners that are geared to the audience (kickboxing 101 lessons might be useful but ...).

Hi Kismet,
I agree with you.
It's also my opinion that H20 is to valuable a site to let it just close down.
I don't have any technical expertise myself but I'm sure there are many who do.
As far as donations to the site,didn't Rick have the same set up?
Hopefully,we can come up with some ideas.

H20 was certainly a learning experience for many JWs and exJWs alike.
The term H20 is on the front lines fits it well.
I was still an active,(well,almost active,o.k. not to active) JW when I found that board.
I learned much from being there.
I posted under the name yankee in case anyone is wondering.
The info. I learned there opened my eyes to the WTS. I did think the WTS was Gods chosen Org. until I learned what I did.

Waiting,by the way,I never told you that I enjoyed reading your posts there.

Advantages of being a JW

clearly there is a great deal of anti-jw sentiment here and elsewhere for that matter.

such feelings are generally directed at those at the heart of the organisation and there are no such feelings for the rank and file who are often very genuine people.. in actual fact there are some advantages in being a fully loaded jw and to be fair it would be interesting to note them down.

they can be factual or whimsical or both.

I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your daughter.
I am also a parent but my kids aren't involved with the WTS.
Hopefully they remain that way.
What you said about your daughter stating that her faith was being destroyed with questions just goes to show how fragile most JWs faith really is.
Most will shy away from questions that they can't answer from the WT publications.
They really don't know how to react to people that challenge what they perceive to be Gods truths especially when they don't have answers.
Hopefully your daughter will reach her own crisis of concience and when she does you'll be there with a helping hand.
Until then, keep the faith.

Hi Gozz,
I'm curious. You said that you attend all the meetings,give talks...ect.
Do you also go out in service?
Do you go from door to door telling people that the only way to God is to belong to the WTS? Become a JW?
I ask because as you know, going out in service and preaching WT truths is a part of being a JW.
What do you say when you're asked about something that you know is not true but the WTS says it is?
Will you give the WT response or your own?
I ask because that's something I could not do.
I couldn't tell people that the WTS is Gods chosen orginisation when I knew for a fact that they weren't.
I don't know how some can continue to teach that knowing that there is plenty of info.proving that the WTS is not who they claim to be.

How are things going?
Have you been going to the meetings regularly?
I won't put you down for wanting to go back.
As I posted to you previously,I was in the same position before.
You didn't reply back to me so I don't know if you saw my post to you.
Just remember one thing. The most important thing. You want to go back because you feel that the WTS is Gods chosen orginisation.
You believe that only the WTS has Gods truths.
God does want us to love Him and worship Him.
And He does want us to worship Him in spirit and truth.
If the orginisation that we are associated with is not worshipping God in spirit and truth and they have lied and decieved people in His name do you think that God will favor such ones?
It's worth spending time investigating the history of the WTBTS as well as any orginisation that claims to speak for God.

Hi WanderingStar,
Welcome to the board.
There's a nice group of people here.
I won't ask you why you got df'd, but I will ask you why you want to go back..........Why?
I'm still a witness but I won't shun you.
The same is true of others on this board.
Please feel free to make any comment or ask any question you would like and we will be happy to reply.
In the meantime,please learn all you can about the WBTS.
There is much information out there. True,some of it is hogwash but there is also information that is well documented and true.
