this is an email i just received.

i feel like posting the senders name and email, but i'll refrain for now.. you are a coward like all of you on that 'jw' board you cant say these things .

when we talk to you cause you dont want to hear the truth................you .

I'll bet this person is counting this emailing on their time sheets.
However,until this person is willing to discuss the reason that we are not in agreement with the WTS, he or she is just waisting their time.

Guess what I just got called?

talking to my cousin just now, she has been inactive for years.... she told me she just started going back to the meetings, hard!!!

i asked her a one-word question--"why?".

she immediately flipped out on me, and said because she doesn't want to be responsible for her children's death at armageddon (of course).

Hi Lisa,
It's sad indeed to see someone so brainwashed as to think an orginization made up of sinfull,imperfect men can be on the same level as God.
A lot of us were just like her though.

How does she know what's on "apostate" websites?
Did she visit different sites before she went back to the WTS?

Well,maybe she'll come around eventually and see the WTS for what it really is.

Hi expatbrit,
I was born and raised Catholic. Went to Parochial school. Was taught by the Nuns. So I had a limited knowledge of God.
The teachings of the Catholic church didn't answer the questions I had about the deeper things of God and His Word.
So as I was growing up I always had a love for God but no black and white answers to the questions I had.
I always enjoyed talking to people about God though.
When I was in my early twenties,living my life day to day, A couple came to my door. And guess what they wanted to do.
Yep. You guessed it. They wanted to talk about God and His purpose for us.
Well,they questions I had were being answered so I thought.
And to the questions they couldn't answer, I was told that Jehovah would answer those in due time.
Well I was as happy as a pig in poop to have finally found a group of people that believed in God and wanted to do His Will.
So as my studdies (I shouldn't call them that because we only studied JW publications.) progressed I was MADE to feel that I should get baptised. Well as everyone knows, if your not baptised you will die at armagedon. And you know,the 1914 generation was dieing out. So I got baptised.
The questions I had that they couldn't answer still went unanswered. And I started to come up with some new ones. And as you know,you can't ask questions about the History or the failed prophecies or the flip flops in their teachings. I wish I asked about those things before I got baptised.
Then when the 1914 generation teaching changed I decided to search elsewhere for answers. And I came across a lot of answers on the web.
And decided to get Rays' books. Crisis of Concience and In search of Chistian Freedom.
After learning the things I did about the WTS,I knew that they weren't what they claimed to be. Just like many others, I could not continue to be a hypocrite and sit there at the meetings and go out in service teaching people that you had to become a JW to please God.
Because I still love God and Jesus Christ I had to seperate from the false teachings of the WTS.
I still believe some of the teachings. Hell,trinity. But I knew that the WTS was just another man made reigion.
And yes. I still smack myself for being so gullable and blind for believing the WTS.
Wait a second, I feel a smack coming on . Ssssmmmaaaacccckkk!!!!!
I feel better now.

Family dynamics and the Org.

i have made a couple of remarks regarding family dynamics on other threads, but i thought it's be nice to start a new thread.... i'm no psychologist, but suffice it to say i see some similarities here.

(please add to/comment on these thoughts).

Hi Lisa,
I agree with you that as children get older they need room to cultivate their own personalities.
Especially as they get into the later teens.
I believe a parents job is to prepare their children for adulthood to the best of their ability.
Of course when they are young,I think it's important to do things as a family.
As far as the orginization being "Mother",that is exactly how the org, has portrade itself.
They want every JW to live up to "Mothers" expectations.
Just my opinion.

Introducing myself..hello all...

i'am dannybear i have been lurking around here from time to time, for the last several weeks.

this forum seems to be a friendly group, not to mention i see jt, englishman, focus, waiting and few others that are very familiar to me from h20.. i live in california.

i was raised as a jw (third generation), got the unceremonious 'boot'(df)in 1980-81 been so long..i can't remember the actual date.

Hi Uni girl,
You said something that I think fits most ex JWs as to why we are drawn to boards such as this.
You said "maybe it's because we find it hard to fit into the world and yet we don't want to belong to the truth."
I think you hit the nail on the head.
We all have something significant in common here. We all gave up a large portion of our lives to a man made religion. We have experienced
similar trials within the WT org. Some of us still have families stuck in the org.
So I guess it's no wonder were drawn to each other.
