I saw a professionnal to resolve a problem that I had with my self-esteem, but I'm still searching my own truth (not the one of a corrupted organisation). I thing that i have still a lot to learn but I don't really believe that there's a god. This is my opinion and it can change but since there's not real proof of the presence of a god, I won't search for another church anyway, I don't need it.

What did you do to free your mind from WBTS??
by Nicolas ini ask you this because i saw a lot of hypocrisy in the org but i still have sometime this old fear of armageddon with a feeling a culpability.
should i do some research on my own about all the lies of the wbts?
what did you do to find a goal in your life?

Love is a Foreign Language to JWS
by metatron inthe past couple years of 'drifting away' have been a real revelation.
it has been a difficult adjustment.
so many standards i. once sacrificed for are now without meaning.

Me too, I were a jw and now, I have a lot of things to learn like how to not judge everybody that you see. This is one of the first things that I learned, in the WBTS, everything is black or white, you are good or bad. Obviously, this is not true, so I have to remind me to not do it.

When a was a nice little jw, I had the goal to have a new life in the paradise but now, I know this won't come true. I'm searching for something I will accomplish myself with that.

Do You Still Believe a God Cares for You?
by JosephAlward ini've been a part of this forum for about one month, and during that time i've been struck by the willingness of many so former jehovah witnesses either to ridicule the bible, or to stand by while it's being ridiculed.
so, i'm wondering how many of them while witnesses suffered through experiences so searing that they no longer believe in the god of the old testament.. who among you still believe that underneath the layers of contradictions, inconsistencies, and errors in the bible there may be found the words of a god who created the universe, and who also cares about you, personally?.

I thing that we are born free and god doesn't ask us anything to do but than we have absolutely no goals in our life so, we have to find ourselve which goals we want to have.

Do you still believe in god???
by Nicolas inhow many of you still believe in god after your experience of the watchtower?
do you believe in a different god than the one of the org.
one who won't destroy somebody just because he wasn't in the good religion.

One who won't destroy somebody just because he wasn't in the good religion. Personnally, I still have some belief in a god simply because I am alive and this is a miracle in itself. I don't think that the evolution can explain correctly why there's life on earth. But, if god doesn't do anything for us than, we have no goal in our life. Everything that we do is absurd if anyway, we are going to die someday.

On shunning
by joelbear inon shunning.. the watchtower basically points to two reasons to shun people:.
1) it will make the wrongdoer think about their course of life and help them to come back to "the truth".. 2) it will protect your faith in jehovah and will keep you from being stumbled.. i think there are really 2 other reasons.. 1) fear of being shunned themselves for associating with you.. 2) to punish you for not thinking or being like them anymore.
kind of a revenge thing.

I would add that they try to make us believe that we are the one who lived (the outsider) and if we are shunned, it is our fault. But instead, it is their choice to shun us and and they punished themselve because they don't have the freedom to do what they want.

the wicked evil smurfs
by ring inwhen i was young, there was a rumor through out our circut, that the smurfs were demonized.
we were told at once to destroy all smurf toys, dolls, and figures.
there were storys flying around about talking smurf statue figures, that would get up and walk across the floor, ect... does anyone remember this, or did it only happen in my part of the world?

Nicolas
I were in the org as a child from 1989 to 1994 but I don't remember the urban legend about the smurf in my region. I was reading a lot of their books and there was no problem.

Guilt
by FreeFallin inthought i should post here as my problems are miniscule compared to what's going on in the world right now.
i feel so disloyal to jehovah by reading all the info on this web site, but what got me to post here in the first place was the information on the un.
i guess i'm trying to tell myself that it's reaally not that bad, that they had a very good reason for forming a slight alliance with the disgusting thing, etc.

The only one thing I can say is that this feeling of guilt is "normal" when you are told by an organization to be perfect and to always do more work. With them, you are never good enough. However, it's great to see that god don't love you because you are in this religion instead of another. The WatchTower himself is saying that on their site at http://www.jw-media.org/beliefs/beliefsfaq.htm . Here is a quote: "Jesus said that we should not be judging one another. Humans look at the outward appearance; God looks at the heart. He sees accurately and judges mercifully. God has committed judgment into Jesus' hands, not ours.?Matthew 7:1-5; John 5:22, 27."

What would YOU do, knowing what we know?
by Bendrr inknowing what hijackers are capable of now, what would you do if you were on a plane and a group of hijackers began taking over?.
would you stand and fight, calling on your fellow passengers to fight with you?.
what if the terrorists were armed with guns or claimed to have a bomb?
-
Nicolas
I think, I would try anything to stop him because anyway, you know that you'll die if you don't do something when the hijackers want to crash a plane into something.
