now since coming to this forum i have noticed that people are always using a variety of ids.

some i suppose are trying to hide.

others use a variation of their main id.

Well, being new around here, I didn't even wanna try to guess! But, I had great fun reading all the posts last night and couldn't wait to sign back on and see if "Who am I?" had been revealed!

My Experience Today with My Brother

well, my brother and his wife came over to my parent's house to visit today while i was home.. to make a long story short, while my brother and his wife were chatting with my mother in the living room, my 1 and a half year old nephew reilly walked into the kitchen where i was making a caesar salad.. he walked over towards me and was smiling, how can any normal adult resist the innocent smile of a child who is your relative?

i picked him up and gave him a huge hug, and told him i loved him.. as i was holding my nephew in my arms, my brother walked into the room.

he was smack dab in the middle of an in-depth conversation about jehovah with my mother and his wife, and i admit i was rolling my eyes listening to him spew about the "truth" and "the only means for salvation in the last days of this wicked system" even though when i confronted him with info on the un, blood, russell gravesite, rape changes, exclusivity, etc, he had no response for me because he was dumbfounded and lost for words.

My heart aches for you-it almost sounds like something one of my brothers would say to me. It cuts you to the very innermost core of your heart and soul. There may be hope for him yet, don't lose that hope.

I was shocked to hear from another brother (a regular poster to this board) a couple of months ago that he no longer believes or accepts what JW's teach. We have renewed our relationship as brother/sister but more than that I can honestly really relate to him as a brother and a friend for the first time in a very long time!

So, I wonder if they use this same reasoning when they hear about other "religious" groups who are in the spotlight for similar "crimes"???? We all know they'd be the first ones to jump on the "holier-than-thou" bandwagon!

Emotional ups and down..again

okay, my mom has been sick, back in forth to florida i have been.

she has a serious health issue and almost died because of the blood issue a month ago.

she is on the mend (thankfully).

i've been df'd since last september.

i haven't heard from my ex-best friend in about 6 months.

so all of a sudden she emails me yesterday asking one simple question:.

Some "friend"?! The sad part is that I can remember when I made judgemental statements like your friend! One friend who I grew up with used Kismets response about love and judging and you know what? To this day I still feel guilty about my words and actions!

I would advise the high road as well.

There are many Christians persecuted for their beliefs in countries under Islamic law. If you get the chance to check out www.persecution.com you can read their stories. There is also a book out called "Jesus Freaks" by dc Talk and The Voice of the Martyrs.

I have a friend who spent 2 years in Uzbekistan and was watched regularly. He was allowed to read the Bible on his own but not allowed to talk about it or his faith unless they specifically asked him first.

I went to Moldova, a small conuntry in Eastern Europe where Christianity is "tolerated" but trust me persecution of Christians who are not with the Orthodox church exists there.
