  The dumbest thing I did as a witness

  when i was 14 or so, my attention got directed to queen.

  and i loved them.

  i'd save my allowance to buy cd's, posters, books etc from them.

  The dumbest thing(s) I did were:

  ~NOT got to my Prom

  ~NOT go to my High School Graduation (went to a District Convention instead!)

  ~hurt my best friend since 2nd grade by being very judgemental over a situation in her family. Actually, her family is the reason I was introduced to the JW's, but alas, I became the die-hard dub while she and most of her 9 brothers and sisters eventually left the "truth" as soon as they were 18.

  Listened and enjoyed Queen, but also Styx and Fleetwood Mac -didn't they tell us they were bad too? But, I held on to those 8-tracks and lp's as long as I could!

  Ran into an old "friend"

  i was in town the other day waiting in line to purchase something and ran into an old jw friend i haven't seen in over 17 years!

  we started to visit (of course - i didn't say anything about being df'd because i don't play those games any more).

  she was really friendly and visited for about 5 minutes until i tossed in a couple of comments that made it pretty clear i was no longer a jw (thought i'd test the water & see her reaction).

  that expression they get- it's like God will smite them dead if they remain one second longer in the conversation (once they realize that they are conversing with an "apostate.")

  In the end its all words on a screen

  apparently yesterday there were some misunderstandings and feelings were hurt and situations were brought way out of proportion.

  (i must say when i popped online before i went to bed i was shocked and saddened at some of the stuff that happened.

  i had an enjoyable day of shopping/cooking/dinner & a movie only to see some of my friends involved in a dispute that could have been easily avoided).

  For those without mothers

  mothers day can bring up many issues for some of us.

  for some their mothers have passed away and the opportunity to say i love you in person is forever lost.. for others our mothers are lost to the borg.

  in fact, we may never have had the opportunity to celebrate a mother's day with them.

  Lady Lee, I just wanted you to know that I literally ache for you. I am just dumbfounded that a mom could be so cruel. I look at my daughter and think, "how can a parent be so cruel to their own child?' I felt the same way for Big Tex. Hugs to you.

  to those who have adopted me as a mum, gran, friend thanks for putting up with me & wonderful comments you have made about me...i cannot keep up with the board anymore.
