  Jwfacts-- Why So Many Contradictions?

  i am well aware that many members of this board adhere to the view that the wt and/or the bible is contradictory.

  the question is: if paul grundy is so enlightened as to 'the truth about the truth', why is he so contradictory?.

  jwfacts to me (in a personal message): "much of the information at jwfacts.com is from the research of people far more gifted then me,and comes from jwn.

  I thought Peter was the smallest person in the bible since it said that "he slept on his watch" but then a brother mentioned that they did not have watches back then, only sun dials and that a full sized human could have actually slept on one if he took the fetal position.

  I could not even tell a joke without being corrected.

  HELP please! archives of old WT missing?

  i just bumped an old thread, that had each year from 1800's to like 1950's of the wt magazines, the links now say the pages are missing.

  please let them be somewhere else.

  i really need them, it's super important, and something everyone will benefit tremendously from when i'm done!.

  Recovery, I bolded the part of your comment that I wanted to discuss. This is the part where you are encouraging onlookers to not take JWFACTS.com seriously due to places that you feel he has been in error.

  Here is your comment with a few words replaced, please review it as it would relate to the WTBTS being inserted where you accuse JWFACTS.com

  Jwfacts.com admits he is human and makes typos I think he even states on his site "if you find something in error, please bring it to my attention" or something to that effect. Should we not hold "Gods chosen corporation" to the same high standard that you are trying to hold JWFACTS.com? Should they not be held to a higher standard that a mere mortal man?

  How can these things not sink into your reasoning? Could it be that you have a bad case of "cognitive dissonance" ?

  Giving little Jimmys money for a printing press.

  We were visiting a foreign Bethe a few years ago and we stopped to visit a brother that must have been close to the top, forget his rank. He had an opened envelope with a piece of paper currency that was probably worth less than a dollar. With it was a letter where a young brother had sent in his money to help with the work.

  The brother in charge pulled out the paper money and handed it to my son as a momento since it was so colorful!!!

  I know that this was not much money, but still irks me that he was willing to just give it away like that. I still am awestruck at the thought of just tossing this little boys offering to another member and did not make sure that it went where it actually wa supposed to go.

  CO Visit this week....

  so, we are meeting our new co this week... i wonder if he'll be as glory hungry as the last one and the one before him and the one... well you can get the idea.

  too bad we didn't volunteer to feed him .

  that makes me wonder...why do they receive so much glory and attention as if they were some type of celebrity?

  Make Them Prove That You Were Baptized!

  this might not work for everyone, but it might for some.. if a person faces disfellowshipping, the person should make the elders prove that they are baptized!.

  as far as i know, baptism records are not sent to bethel.. without two witnesses to the event (and the witnesses have to remember seeing the person immersed), and no photos, there would be no proof.. if someone did this, the elders would of course contact bethel for instructions, but what could they do?.

  it would put a stop to the elders proceeding with any action..

  Why No Disfellowshipping Before 1952?

  why was there no official arrangement before 1952 to disfellowship people?

  was there a different procedure with a different name?

  was no one committing disfellowshipping offenses?

  Also as a side note, there is an article in an older WT that basically denounces the Catholic Shurch for excommunicating their members, the WTBTS calls it unscriptural.

  It's a very intersesting article. I would think that someone here would know where it is from.
