  A couple of elders brought up the idea of Proverbs 4:18 a while back and i asked them "Is that scripture is a phrophecy from Jehovah to show that his one channel of communication on Earth today would be continually getting things wrong when it comes to dispensing the proper food at the proper time?

  I don't think that they gave me an actual answer.

  Little children put their fingers in their ears and say na na na na to try to prevent themselves from hearing things that they do not want to hear. They also place their hands over their eyes to prevent themselves from seeing something that they cannot handle at the time. Sometimes I feel that Jw adults throw out these "thought stopping" comments like "Light getting brighter" is their way of putting their fingers into their ears. Possibly explaining how this works prior to actually sharing the info might alow them to see what is taking place.

  Trying to get someone to wake up is like trying to crack a safe. You just cannot walk up to a safe and open that door without some thoughtful researach into what keeps the doors locked.

  I think that something like this was done in the Bible where someone told King David a story about a man who had many sheep took away the only sheep that one man had. Then after he had Kind David say what he thought about the situation he told him that he wa in fact, the rich man who took the one sheep from the poor man with only one.

  I think by having King David commit outloud first about the judgment that the rich man should be subjected to would have made it hard for him to backtrack. If it was thrown up in his face about taking the mans wife, he would have obviously not made the same remarks, and he would have worked his way out of it somehow. Whether or not the King David story is true or not, it gives an indication that a person might be able to be talked to when they are looking at the situation from a view that is not of their own as they are unbiased at that point.

  I think the best way, or at least the best way that I can think of is to create a similar circumstance with someone of another religion, like the Mormons or something similar that would allow you to talk about a "friend" that is intersted in finding out more about their birth religions history and wants to research some things that they have heard about the Mormons but are afraid to look this info up since it is forbade by the Mormons to do this. See where I'm going here. I think if they can see that the Mormon ruling parties deny the members the right to look at their history and are forbidden to talk to ex members they might see a parallel between the JWs and the Mormons.

  Does God's foreknowledge take away from free will?

  just by knowing what will happen, that doesn't mean that we can prevent or cause something to happen.

  my knowing that does not prevent them the free will of making the choice.. it's the same with god.

  if god is not restricted to existence in the present, then the future is known by god because god indwells the future as well as the present and the past.

  Especially when you consider what the subject matter.

  Will you be a Critical thinker and spend the time to view these thoughts or will you look for confirmation of your bias?

  Jehovah's Witnesses dismayed by new magazine format from Watchtower Society.

  wow.

  i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.

  i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

  I wish they would just start inserting some "markers" in the articles so that we would know where to start and stop the 'highlighting" For example,

  We must realize, and when we say "WE" , we mean "YOU" (the first we lol) and don't ever forget it.

  {start Highlight A} yadda, yadda yadda, we speak for God and don't forget it, yadda some more{stop Highlight A} So evidently brothers, we know what

  God is thinking even before he shares it with us, as it were.

  Or just start Highlighting the info for us while printing it.

  HA,. I would imagine there are some if told that the WTBTS was going to start highlighting the articles of them, they would believe it and see it as a blessing from Jehovah.

  i was told that the answers to my questions involved mysteries that one day would be solved as the light became brighter.

  And why would anyone say that audio recordings are for personal use, would they not want to let their "light shine" for all to hear, metaphorically speaking. ( I know you can't hear light)

  in part of the video mentioned above showing the "goofus" elder trying to handle the situation with the crying sister:.

  the "goofus" elder went into the kingdom hall library alone with the sister when she left the auditorium.. you could hear literal, audible, gasps from the 100 or so elders watching the video.. a few moments later, as the sister was crying, "goofus" put out his hand and touched the sister's hand.. again, literal, loud, audible gasps from the audience.. they darkened the room while the video was playing so i couldn't see him, but i have to imagine the co was quite pleased that the audience grasped the "mistakes" that elder goofus was making.. .

  this year, i'm going to dress up as a pilgrim.

  Oh, how I wish some of my uber JW friends would send me a pic of them eating this meal, always on Thanks Giving day with their entire family, cause Jehovah says that when you find a wife, who can find a deal on frozen turkey, you have found a good thing.

  I guess I was a purist in this area as I did not think that under any circumstances that we should eat this meal on that day and probably within a month of that DAY for any reason as it could stumble others. I was like "What are we trying to do here people!!"

  Now I just hope that the turkey is not dried out too much.

  Hint, cook your turkey with the breast down to keep it moist. (God please don't strike me dead for saying that)

  Also, I bet that there are Jw moms everywhere telling their kids "If there ever was a day that you should chew your food thoroughly, it would be today as mommy and daddy don't want to explain to the elders that JR died choking on a piece of turkey on thanksgiving day."
