Maverick..
Give yourself some time to adjust. "They", who ever that is, say give yourself a year for every five you were married
I have heard this before.
I'm in no rush to be seriously involved. I have a friend that I have known for over a year and I spend allot of time with and it's great because there is no pressure with it. We decided that it would be best for our friendship not to label anything. We're even talking about a trip to Cancun.
I do know that a major lesson that I have learned this last year is that you can't be happy with someone else unless you are happy with yourself first. I have also learned that I will not settle and that I must be accepted for who I am and not change a thing for someone else. It's wonderful to finally be finding myself and feeling good about it. I love my Independence.
Thanks for the advice,
Paula

I was wondering if it was ever going to happen. My divorce was final Aug. 22, 2003. I had a gathering of close friends around 25 at a Restaurant / Lounge where we took over the dance floor and sang some karaoke till 2 AM. What a blast. The restaurant came out toward the end with champagne for us and a toast was made " When one door closes another one opens" How true I find that in life. We never know what is going to happen next. We may feel things aren't going well till that next door opens. Anyway, life is treating me very well. I do miss posting here and going into chat, Working full time, raising a daughter and trying to lead a normal life does take up allot of time. So many of you were a God send while I was going through all my drama this last year. (leaving my X, out on my own for the first time after being married for 20 years (was married @ 16), the sudden loss of my mother, and then being DF'ed). I would like to Thank you all for your support. What great people you all are not a day goes by that I don't count my blessings for getting to know so many of you here. I may not post much by I'm always thinking of you all. 's Paula

Do what makes you comfortable..if you do tell them then you won't have to worry about the invitations to the hall. I was just DF'ed a few weeks ago. I work with 2 JW's. I told them both because I like them both and know how they feel and respect that. They were both sweet, both hugged me and both still talk to me. I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't know the person and see them everyday.

Are people happier married or single?
by JH in.
it think it was paul who said in the bible that people are happier single than married.
do you share paul's point of view?

Thunder Rider, I do totally agree with what you are saying..but both people have to be happy within themselves to be able to contribute. If a person is suffering from within and not happy with themselves how can they expect their mates to be happy with them. If they are not happy then they totally depend on someone else for their emotional needs creating pressure on their mate to have to fill those needs. I'm just saying that a person being balanced and content will help them to find happiness in being married or single.

I think there are so many unhappy marriages because people look to someone else to make them happy...that has to come from within. If you are married you can not depend on someone else to create a happiness for you..it adds too much pressure on a relationship. The happiness comes married or single when you are good with who you are. Don't expect from others what can't be expected from you.

(((Robyn, Lady & WildHorses))) I miss everyone here. Life keeps me a little busy so it's hard to get on like I use to. But life is good so I won't complain. I don't think the DF'ing will be bad..I have 1 brother "in" but he has little to do with me anyway. When I stopped going to the meetings that pretty much ended the friendships I had. little witch..it wasn't gossip they were going on..Someone ratted me out and I did fess up so that they would know that my soon to be X would be able to re-marry and the ASSemblies are coming up. I think the stupidest thing they said was that I was "contaminating" the congregation..I said "I didn't know how I could do that since I haven't been to the meetings in 2 years."

Next thing I know I'm on a conference call via phone with 3 elders..you guessed it..they got their dirt, wanted confirmation and called back 30 minutes later saying they would announce my DF'ing next Thursday night at the meeting. So next Thursday around your meeting time raise a glass in a toast..."Another one bites the dust"

Don't get around much anymore......
by Prisca inwell, i've been busy travelling and making arrangements to move from my present address, so i haven't been online as much lately.
as well, due to the changes in the forum, i couldn't post from my home pc for a while, so that really kept me quiet!!
circumstances mean i won't be around as much as i used to, at least for the next couple of weeks, so i just wanted to pop in and say hi.
