All of these so-called miracle stories are fabricated and distorted. I recall when I served as an elder the C.O. would ask for local experiences and not once was it ever requested to ensure the experience could be verified or authenticated. That is why you get all these exaggerated stories because nobody ever takes measures to verify these accounts. And the WT has the audacity to put down Wikipedia because anyone can contribute to these posts without credentials etc. How is it any worse with these B.S. stories that are propagated by the WTS, its representatives and the R&F? It doesn’t end there. Think of all the experiences you hear at assemblies from people that you know personally boasting about themselves which you for a fact know is absolute B.S. Or these ridiculous stories of how Jehovah helped a brother find a better job with twice the pay because he refused to miss his district convention or helped another find a well-paying part time job so they could pioneer, yet would not intervene and stop the crazed maniac Anders Breivik from slaughtering close to 70 innocent people-most of them children. If this is the M.O. of God, regardless of who he is…I want nothing to do with him!

by Dagney ini was wondering from any here in the know, does it seem like there is a lot of "remodels" going on?.
in the last week i had the occasion to talk with two jw's in different halls, about 10 miles apart.
they both are undergoing major remodels.

Darth frosty...Our last Circuit Assembly there were about 800 people and the total costs incurred were close to 10k for a paid off assembly hall! Many people say it goes into reserve for upgrades, renovations etc.; B.S. they campaigned for $$ when they built a new steel perimeter fence and other improvements. It is such a scam-how shameless!

Last night I had the most vivid dream. I dreamt I woke up in 1960, I sought out my parents and when I finally convinced them that I was their son from the future (nothing like carrying around an iPAD in circa 1960) I then tried to convince my parents to leave the JW religion. After much deliberation they both exclaimed that if I came back from the year 2012 and the system is still going on, then the best thing to do is walk away now! I was so elated!
Can you imagine what that would be like for all of us long time born ins. If only we could accomplish such a feat, what a dramatically different life we could have lead without constant fear and loathing our fellow man just because they did not go to the Kingdom Hall. The fact remains that all we can really do is make life as meaningful as possible with the reduced amount of time we have left on this earth. Remember the closing minutes of Titanic when it revealed all the adventures and fulfilling life Rose went on to live? That is how I feel, before I depart this earth I want to live everyday like it is my last and it WILL NOT BE carrying on this double life any longer. Maybe this dream was a message from my subconscious to let it go and stop trying to please everybody. Will people be hurt and shocked? Without a doubt; I have made up my mind that it is time to start living (more movie plagiarism). Now all I need to decide is not if but when I make my final exit from this farce known as “the Truth”! Rest assured it will be coming soon.

It is also worth mentioning that although my wife has consistently pioneered in years past including last year, she is NOT going to pioneer this year! On the drive home from the meeting as we were discussing my conversation with this elder and their tactics and she just came out and said she is not going to pioneer. You have no idea how happy that made me when she uttered those words.

Rules and Regulations...my thoughts exactly, I am not exemplary by any means. I guess once it is signed it goes to the Service Committee Tribunal and they decide if your name is worthy to be read from the coveted platform.
Ding…my wife said it was complete BS! She is slowly seeing the organization for what it is, like I said before her entire social circle revolves around the congregation but things are definitely improving. Slow and steady.
NRFG…I agree with you man. BTW I did discuss my report or lack thereof with our SO as he was puzzled over my lack of activity and went on a rant about reports, going as far as saying the bible set a precedent for compiling reports. I told him the only record reported in the bible was the number of individuals baptized! Show me anywhere in the bible in any translation where the emphasis was on the hours, rv’s etc. not to mention recording placements of literature all the forgoing is the emphasis of the WT not the number of individuals baptised. I also asked him why the WT does not put in print the number of individuals DF’d , because if they are going to include everything else this would also be a relevant statistic. Have you ever read a financial statement where the business losses or write offs were excluded? I think not!

Last night I reluctantly attended the meeting. I don't go very often but as you have seen in previous posts, I go occasionally to keep peace with my wife. Last night this elder hands me two Auxiliary Pioneer Forms with mine and my wife’s name filled in already. (BTW the app was preprinted with a laser printer so they put allot of thought into this scam) I asked him, "What is this?" He replied that because so many pioneered last year that the BOE decided to make it easier by filling them in for everyone and whoever wants to pioneer can just sign it, we are anxious to read off as many names as we can during the Service Meeting tonight. (BARF)
I handed the forms back to him without saying a word. He just stood there with a stunned look on his face. During the meeting I was brewing in anger, my wife did manage to calm me down and talked me out of leaving. I am glad I did stay as you will see.
After the meeting he apologized if he offended me in any way. I told him that there is far too much emphasis on getting people to put in their; what I call “T HE DIRTY THIRTY” no matter what! (he actually chuckled) I then quoted 2 Cor 9:7 in part where it says that each of us would do what is in our heart not..., then I said "should I finish the scripture or should you?" He just looked puzzled. I then continued...”not grudgingly or under compulsion, this method you guys are using is absolutely disgusting; talk about a cheesy ploy to get the publishers to sign this form…shame on you guys. What is this, some sort of contest between other congregations?”
He did agree with me that I made some good points and that perhaps they were too hasty and thanked me for my candor. He is one of the more humble elders that I got along with very well when I served. I wonder if this was concocted by the BOE or if this is a directive from the branch or maybe an overzealous CO? In any event I found the whole thing absolutely shameless!

I personally knew two related families travelling to a DC and all the children rode in one vehicle to be with their cousins. Then they all watched in horror as a semi swerved into the vehicle in front of them instantly killing the childrens parents, the cousins Aunt and Uncle and your own fleshly brother and his wife. Never any mention of how they would still be alive had they chose not to travel to the DC. Such a loss not to mention that the couple had no life insurance (what do you need that for when Armageddonis so close) and the aunt and uncle then raised the children as their own. All these stories are bogus. I remember the CO always used to ask the elders for local experiences, never did he ever confirm the veracity of these so-called experiences. It is a joke!
