Watching the Ted Haggard story unfold has been a trip into the bizarre world of conservative Christianity. In a letter read to his congregation Mr. Haggard let us get a glimpse of a person whose troubles hasn’t even begun. It is a man still in deep denial about who he is.
He calls himself “a deceiver and a liar” something that is of course correct but that is more or less in the “job description” of all Christians. The only thing that varies is the degree of lies and deception.
Having sex with a consenting adult is of course not wrong in itself. It only becomes wrong if you have sworn to be faithful to another. Still the poor man describes his desperate venture into his true sexuality thus:
"There is a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I've been warring against it all of my adult life,”
It is indeed tragic that a homosexual man has grown up in an environment where it has become necessary for him to deny himself, put on an act to the extent that he has married and had children just to play the “normal.” That he actually believes that he can continue the “war” against himself. It must be horrific to be so completely messed up.

Well, this guy is president in a church with 30 million members. A guy who has come out strongly against homosexuals.
If there is anyone who has been judgemental it is him and his followers. It is no wonder that people find it a bit interesting.
He has bragged about his chumminess with President Bush and claims to have

With the "outing" of several gay men within the ranks of a party that publicly condems homosexuality one must ask the question
if there isn't a pattern. It seems that those who are the most vocal gay bashers in that commuity is actually adressing the gay
person withing themselves in a desperate effort to control their true sexuality. Tragic indeed that US society still is so backward regarding such matters. In our last conservative government the minister of finance didn't face much problems as openly gay.
He is a brilliant politician and well respected based on his merits and actual performance in politics. We have had a gay female bishop
which was well liked and respected. This just remain a "problem" in certain backward societies because certain elements can use it to scare homophobes in order to get votes to gain power and keep it.Norm

Hi all, Yes, I do feel better. Today it is 10 days after the operation and I think there is progress every day. The stitches will hopefully be removed on Wednesday because then I will go back the hospital for a check up. Otherwise I feel quite all right. Now it just to brace ourself for the winter here. Furthermore to the immense delight of Brooklyn some scientist doing research has been able to dig up victims of that flu in the permafrost in Alaska and Spitzbergen and identify the virus that killed so many people back then. Then follows several pages where the writer with visible excitement and satisfaction goes through how threatening and deadly viruses are and how great the potential threat such future pandemics are.
The article follows the usual pattern of painting a dark and gloomy future for mankind and at the end of the second section they quote someone they call a “respected American authority” which is supposed to have said: “To put it simple, with each passing year we get closer to the next pandemic.” Not a word about who this authority is of course.
Then we get the usual question, “Does this mean that the future is dark and that we are we are without hope? No”After having started the last part of the article with darkening the future threat of a deadly influenza pandemic further to get the reader in the right mood the magazine launches into la la land full steam with the usual idiotic fantasy pictures of insanely grinning “happy” women in cotton dresses accessorized with fruit/flower basket. Also with manly men in polo shirts playing with children etc, all in a lovely landscape what with snowcapped peaks on the horizon and whatnot. Then they move in for the kill with the usual incredible nonsense about “like the days of Noah”. The incredible bloodbath they all pray and hope for are sanitized and stripped of all blood and gore using the description the “present world order will end”. Then the article asks what life the “survivors” can expect? Nothing is of course mentioned that Brooklyn thinks those will be far less the one percent if the entire mankind. Then after a few more lines offering among other the usual standard out of context bullshit ranting better known as “revelation”. It is quite telling that after having used 98% two measly paragraphs are used on this “good” stuff.
Another thing that is always completely missing from such articles in any Watchtower literature is any discussion about all these horrible diseases caused by viruses. Viruses is really amazing as they can actually be perfectly explained by applying “Darwinian” thinking.
In viruses we can observe evolution at work. Viruses are immensely complex and evolve all the time. It is really comic but people who do not “believe” in evolution should really put their money where their mouth is and use 10 year old virus vaccines because according to them evolution is bullshit.And of course such complicated buggers and viruses must be designed, don’t you think? And who else can design them then the “Great designer?” Of course God has designed the viruses, e-coli, bacteria erc. After all he is almighty. Isn’t it wonderful to be so loved folks? Isn't it strange that the solution to all problems facing mankind always seem to involve killing as much people as possible?

Either the guy is dishonest of dumb. JW leaders are no doubt violating human rights as freedom of speech, freedom of religion etc. They are no doubt responsible for psychical torture with their DF and shunning policy. Although they probably won't go out and physically kill anyone they do promote and fervently wait for wish and pray for a bloodbath that will make the atrocities of Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot look like a picnic. But of course they rely on their homicidal maniac god to do the real dirty work. Well, the site do contain the urls although not as clicable links so you can all see for yourself what I have actually said.

Wow! Thanks to you all for showing such concern.
I had a suspicious tumor removed from immediately under my left ear.
Discovered it in July and didn't think much of it but went to the doctor to get an opinion. He sent me to ultrasound and the
doctor that did that sent me to get a MR. Next thing I knew I was called in to be examined by a specialist and he immediately
decided to remove it. Said if it wasn't malignant it would become so if left alone. So on last thursday I had surgery, lasted 6 hours according to the doctor. Incision from the front of my left ear down my neck and curves toward the throath. Removed two spit glands and the lymph nodes. According to the doctor the procedure takes a long time because there is a lot of nerves situated in that area, among them the facial nerve and a nerve going to the shoulder, also the nerves for the ear. The ear nerve had to be sacrificed because of its location in the middle of the tumorSo now I look (more then usual) like something out of a Frankenstein movie, stitching and all. A bit swollen and such and has to eat painkillers because it is really painful to chew but in a couple of weeks I should be better. The tissue taken away is sent to a lab so I will get the results about the nature of the cells in the tumor in the beginning of next month.

Particularly funny is the use of the expressions “indisputable/physical facts.” These are the words the writing department uses when they have absolutely zero arguments for something. Let us look at some of these masterpieces from Brooklyn.

In the Bible are the indisputable facts that prove that death is the result of sin,which comes upon all men by inheritance; that to Jehovah God belongs salvation; that the greatest crisis of all time is at hand, when the wicked will be destroyed at Armageddon and when those who seek righteousness and meekness may be spared in that great disaster; that salvation from death, and life forever in happiness, are open to the obedient ones; and that therefore a great emergency now confronts those who shall form the “great multitude”.As we can see from the above quote Brooklyn like their fundamentalist “brothers” have absolutely no clue what an indisputable fact or proof is. To claim that the Bible contain “indisputable facts” without corroborative evidence is an extremely silly claim to make. Yet this is the order of the day in the Watchtower magazine. Like most other religious, who deal in superstition and the unseen, everything seems to come true merely because someone claim it is. It also seems to help a whole lot if it is several thousand years since it allegedly happened. That seems to be the only criteria for truth or facts in these societies. Take a look at this example from the Watchtower:

According to the Watchtower from 1922, “indisputable facts” showed that Jesus “second presence” began in 1874! In 1951 and 1954, “physical facts” showed that his “second presence” began i 1914!. Incredible how such iron clad “facts” can change in the Watchtower, isn’t it?

7 Both the Scriptures and physical facts show that Christ Jesus was enthroned in Jehovah’s kingdom in 1914.What can we learn from such examples? First of all that the Watchtower writers as most religious people have absolutely no idea what a fact is, they think it is whatever dream of fantasy they for the moment chooses to call a “fact”. As demonstrated a Watchtower “fact” doesn’t qualify as such in the real world. Real “physical” or “indisputable” facts can’t have Jesus “second presence” in 1874 and then suddenly change it to 1914. At least one of those statements doesn’t qualify as a fact. In this case of course none of them even remotely qualify as a fact, because they are impossible to verify in any way, and therefore the word fact shouldn’t be used at all. But this is the way people who deal in the foggy and fuzzy realm of fantasy, religion and superstition operates. As many of us who are out of the Watchtower Society or are in the process of getting out know, reality comes as a very nasty shock to people who live in these misty realms of lala land. The Bible and people who believe in it make a whole lot of extraordinary claims, which they tell us we have to accept or suffer the consequences. Consequences, which severity vary according to the degree of orthodoxy of the “messenger”. Some will torment us forever in Hell, others will simply wipe us out, but they all have in common the idea that people who don’t buy their brand of superstition do not deserve a life and a future. Is any of this based on facts, as we know them? No, they are based on very old superstitious writings and fantasies. The obvious FACT that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, is completely ignored by “true believers”.
