Do you think I'll be DF'd now?

about three weeks ago i told a friend about the un thing, no-one else, i had known for months but didn't tell her till she brought up a similar subject.

i gave her a printout from a guardian article, i have only had a short terse text message since.

i know she has a lot more to lose than i did, and i stopped going to meetings last year.

It depends on the elders in your local congregation.

I left the org in Oct 2001. Since then i have been celebrating xmas/birthdays etc etc. Been loudly vociferous in denouncing JW teachings at any and every opportunity. Discussed all my findings re UN/blood issue/JW v Bulgaria in European Court of Human Rights with my JW husband. Taken my JW husband to court to prevent him taking our daughter to meetings (I won by the way).

And still I have not been disfellowshipped.

My brother in law is the Presiding Overseer in the local cong - I stood in my kitchen last December (my house was COVERED in xmas decorations) and asked him if I had been disfellowshipped. "No" was the answer.

And I still haven't heard anything from any of them. No shepherding visits, nothing.

I don't know whether they can't be bothered, or whether they are scared because I will NOT be walked all over (and they know it), or whether it is because i am still related by marriage to the PO?

So I really think it depends on the attitude of your local elders, and how much grief THEY think YOU will cause THEM if they started to rock the boat.

Just my thoughts.

tax in france case lost

i have just read via the freeminds site, that the case in france has been lost and watchtower must pay a total of 45 million euros or $39 million!

Now this may be a coincidence but...

According to the March (or it could be February) Kingdom Ministry, the proposed expansion of the British Bethel (or should that be UK??!!) has been shelved.

Now is that because they are contemplating a huge tax bill from France?

You tell me!

FLAG NIGHT AT THE KINGDOM HALL

being tne sarcastic semi-doubter bastard i am ,i thought i would satisfy a rebellious inkling in my soul i've wanted to satisfy at the kingdom hall from earliest teenhood i wore a flag pin under my suit jacket!whoa i thought, maybe i'll get caught!

that made it irrisistable!so yesterday i did it!

funny beneath all the smiles of my brothers and sisters was the beast of indignation waiting to surface if the sight of the monstorous abomination would surface before their eyes!

I don't mean to join the bandwagon, but over here in the UK, we all ended our prayers with "in Jesus name, Amen". Our roughly like that.

Changing the subject back to daring things - I was always REALLY tempted to wear TROUSERS to the kingdumb hall - unfortunately i never had the courage to do it. Dam!

And by the way - for those not in the know (Apostateman) - it is not advisable for sisters to wear trousers to the kingdumb hall, unless she wants to be counselled by some brother wearing a really BAD 70's shiny suit!!

Do you see many jw's at your door?

this has probably been addressed before, but.... the other day a philipino man knocked on our door.

my husband answered it, and a nice elderly man said something in philipino to us, holding a watchtower and awake.

my husband said we only spoke english, and the old man smiled, said something and left.

I was last called on in September 01. After the long, fun (for me!) conversation we had, they sort of figured i was an exJW. It was SO unfair of me to pick a conversation with two elders!!

I never see the witneses along the road. My parents (ex JWs) don't see them either - they both work from home and their office is at the front of the house, so if ANYONE walks along the road, they are spotted!!

I think the number of JWs actually out regularlly in the ministry is dropping so they are unable to cover the territory like they used to.

Now that IS Good News to the rest of us!!

Favorite food at Assemblies

i hated growing up as a witness.

i hated the boring ass meetings where you could hear a pin drop on the floor, i hated going door to door and i hated not being normal like the other kids.. but the one thing i liked was going to the assemlies at the oakland coliseum.

i would wander around and find other kids to goof around with.

My favourite was the freshly cooked bacon rolls as soon as you arrive at the district convention in Norwich (UK).

They changed the food arrangements about 3 years ago so that there is NO food or drink provided at assemblies. The atmosphere changed because of that, no more long queues for the tea and coffee. Ah well!

Watchtower Letter

i received a letter today from the watchtower explaining their reasons for registering with the dpi.

the last paragraph is perhaps the most interesting, though it may contain no new information.. .

I don't believe that this letter is genuine - mainly because they address the person as "Mr".

Come on people- how many of us have sat in meeting listening to letters being read out from circuit overseers, bethel etc, and they ALWAYS start dear BROTHERS. Even letter addressed to individuals are initiated with BROTHER rather than MR.

Never, ever are people called Mr or Mrs, ALWAYS brother or sister.

This tells me this letter is not genuine.

Any thoughts?

Yep - floral prints figure a lot in approved dress style for good JW sisters!

The things I used to wear should have been worn by an elderly spinster - and I was only a teenager at the time!!

Now a few years on, i am making up for lost time and restocking my wardrobe with clothes that I actually LIKE!!

a) the wtbt involvement with united nations, .

b)the lies told by the wtbts to the court in the case of jehovah's witnesses v bulgaria in the european court of human rights.

A group of exJWs in the south of the UK are considering putting together a factsheet containing information about:

a) the WTBT involvement with United Nations,

b)the lies told by the WTBTs to the court in the case of Jehovah's Witnesses v Bulgaria in the European Court of Human Rights

This factsheet will be sent to all local JWs in the hope that it might cause some of them to start thinking about the religion they are willing to die for.

This factsheet will not be in anyway slanderous, and will purely point out the FACTS and give no personal opinion.

Has anyone else done anything similar? and if so what was the response, if any?
