Prepare for follow-ups to Panorama

it may be worth preparing and brushing up on things ready for the phone-ins and live chat after panorama airs.
they also allow people to submit comments via the website.. in addition, there are often follow up programmes covering issues raised such as this morning, kilroy, tonight with trevor macdonald and various radio phone-ins.. don't be shy people ... the wts is on the ropes with a deservedly bloody nose with this one - let's put them on the canvas.

Witnesses Not Budging on 1914
by stevieb1 injust attended the sunday of the zealous kingdom proclaimers district convention in manchester, england and during the final talk we had an update on the world situation as it relates to jehovah's witnesses.
the speaker was peter ellis, a member of the london bethel branch committee.. he stated that many had been waiting for armageddon for some years and some have become disappointed that it hasn't yet arrived, and that newer jw's did not seem to have the same degree of faith as some of the old-timers in the faith, hence this was of serious concern.
then he said something along the lines of 1914 being set in stone and that the organization was not going to get any new light on this key doctrine, hence we can be sure that armageddon is very near.. interesting don't you think?

City Fan: Yep, the brother who is assigned to do the closing prayer ALWAYS has a problem loving the sound of his own voice. They go on and on and in the end NO ONE is listening, just looking around and thinking "when is this nerd going to shut up and let us go home?"
Of course the really clever brothers and sisters would always leave just before the end of the last talk to avoid the queues in the car park!

Flyers put on car windscreens @ conventions
by Nowfree inhas anyone thought of putting leaflets on car windscreens at the district conventions that are coming up?.
all good jws should be at the convention - if they are using public/football ground car parks, then it will be easy to target their vehicles and put a leaflet on them.

If you could get the Jehovahs-Witness.com and Silent Lambs.com on boards by the platform and by the clock! THEY would get noticed and there wouldn't be a thing they could do about it!!!

Execution of Divine Judgment upon False Religion
It is not a form of religious persecution for anyone to say and to show that another religion is false. It is not religious persecution for an informed person to expose publicly a certain religion as being false, thus allowing persons to see the difference between false religion and true religion. .To make a public exposure of false religion is certainly of more value than exposing a news report as being untrue; it is a public service instead of a religious persecution and it has to do with the eternal life and happiness of the public. Still it leaves the public free to choose.
Why should anyone practice a religion unless he is convinced that it is true and right? He ought to be able to prove that his is the only one that is correct and that results in eternal blessings. Otherwise, his faith in his religion is foundationless and is mere credulity.

New rules from WTS to restrict use of internet?
by Nowfree ini know of a presiding overseer who has recently got rid of the modem and internet connections on his pc.
the reason given was that he didnt use it enough to make the monthly expense worthwhile.. but i wonder?.
have there been any local needs items or talks recently about whether it is wise to use the internet?.

UK Service Report March 2002

these figures are unusual in that normally in march they have a slight increase, this year they have had a slight decrease.. compare the figures from the past few years i've set up on this excel chart:.

If their average hours for publishers goes down much more I might have been in with a chance!!
8.7 per month! That is really low!!
Me thinks good little JWs are becoming very tired very fed up little JWs!
Have to see what the figures do after the annual "pepping up" talks at the district conventions!

Wendy: I am with you on this one!
My daughter was very seriously ill when she was born - she did recover, although she will never be cured. The answer from those at the KH was that "she survived because we trusted in Jehovah".
I took that to the logical conclusion.
What about all those children who are listed in the May 94 Awake - the children who died because of refusing blood, because of following WT rules. THOSE children and their parents trusted in Jehovah - and yet they died. What is the difference? Weren't they trusting enough? Is the impartial God now behaving in VERY impartial way?
It didn't make sense. It still doesn't!
I left the religion - taking my daughter with me.
On a lighter note - I hope both Williams sisters were out in field service on Saturday morning before the match. And I hope that they are counselled by their local elders if playing recreational sport prevented them from prestudying the Watchtower for Sunday's meeting.
IF they are JWs then the same rules should apply.

Is he still alive??? They must be propping him up from behind just to keep him standing on the platform!
It may also be that the Gov. Bod. are aware of the mass group of exJWs who are ready to pounce on anything they say, any changes they introduce. So they have to be doubly sure that any manouvering on their part can at least be introduced quietly so that WE don't notice it and give them a rough ride.
I am convinced the WT society NEVER use to get this amount of hassle from exJWs - personally I blame(!) the internet!!!!

I am going to tell EVERYONE about this at work tomorrow!!!! It will be interesting to see viewing figures when they are released!!
To those in the know and who have been interviewed by Panorama journalists:
Is this a one off or is there a potential for Panorama to do another program regarding the Blood issue and the lives that are lost because of it? I am thinking particularly about the case in Calgary - which isn't of course alone, but has been a major news feature these last few weeks.

I remember seeing someone outside a convention (when i was a good JW), with a placard - they did seem kind of lonely, and it did reinforce the issue of there are thousands of JWs and only one or two saying anything against the religion - therefore we must be right.
Good thinking about the leaflets being removed by others - if they are distributed at 3.30 (ish) then there won't be time for them all to be removed, as the conventions finish at about 4.15pm.
I remember there used to be adverts for diet clubs and earn-quick-cash schemes on the windscreen of our car.
