yep......it was announced at the hall.
i got told by someone who still goes.
i had not attended for 2yrs but i thought they might have informed me!
I stopped going to meetings 18 months ago - since then i have:
1) Involved local JW relatives in a court case about the religion and won
2) Proclaimed to all and sundry about the wicked ways of the Society.
3) Been loudly and publicly celebrating xmas and birthdays.
4) Been socialising with disfellowshipped friends.
5) Talking on this board of apostates!!!
And they still haven't disfellowshipped me! Why? i could start getting a complex about this!!!

A thankyou card would be wonderful!
The elders are so used to people being mentally broken up because they have been cut off from the Kingdom Hall and the loving congregation.
A thankyou card would prove that you don't give a damn! The pictures would just add to it. Maybe you could send a card and photos to ALL elders in your congregation, then it gives them something to talk about in their elder's meetings - other than gossiping about the brothers and sisters, it would give them a break for once!
I haven't had a letter from the elders yet (after 18 months)!! I am feeling quite left out! Don't they love me anymore! Sob sob!! (lol)

YK/WTBTS are acting a bit like King Canute - all on his own sitting on a chair on the beach proclaiming loudly that the tide won't come in because i am the King and the sea will do as I say.
And guess what?
The tide came in and made King Canute look like an idiot. His downfall was because of his delusions of grandeur - which reminds me of how the Governing Body will go down!

after being indoctrinated against talking to apostates for years, it is scarey to suddenly start talking on the internet.
but it does help to talk with others who have had the same experiences of the wt society - otherwise you end up thinking you are the only one finding a problem with it.. don't be intimidated by your local elders - they are just as indoctrinated as the rest, and probably have secret fears themselves about the organisation.. i was brought up as a jw for 20 years, was baptised.

Keep talking to us on the board - some of us are exJWs, some are those who have been studies, some are existing JWs like you, wanting to know whether they are the only ones who are seriously dissatisfied with the WT Society.
This is an open forum - all ideas, thoughts, jokes are welcome. We do not berate anyone's ideas, we do discuss them and ask each other questions about them, but we respect each other's differing beliefs.
Some have gone on to other religions, some (like me!) are totally against organised religion, and query whether there is a God in the first place, but the majority of us respect each other.
Do not feel you have to conform to ANYBODY elses ideas or opinions, cos that is all they are. If you have thoughts, fears then share them with us. It does help!

I was brought up as a JW for 20 years, was baptised. I left 18 months ago - I now feel happier than I have ever done - I can think for myself, make decisions for myself. From the outside of the religion, you get a better picture of it - I now know it is a cult, i can see it for myself. Every JW being told what to do, when to do it, what to say, and what to wear! Whether you can have blood transfusions etc. Mind control all the time.

Writing to the Charities Commission in the UK about the noncompliance with the requirements to be a registered charity is great idea.
It would really hit them hard - it would cost them!!

Have you informed Panorama? They do updates on their programmes to keep audiences informed of the repercussions of their investigations.
I also wonder whether the WTS will use this as an opportune time to "clean up" all those who have stopped attending meetings, but are not DA or DF, cos technically speaking all those (including me!!) are not to be shunned (although I can't honestly tell the difference!! They shun whatever!!)
If that was happening in the UK you could shout "Human Rights Act", and they wouldn't stand a cat in hells chance of continuing with their JC.
I wrote to my MP with a copy of the August KM about disfellowshipped ones and how they are to be treated. I explained that this was why most witnesses do not come forward about cases of abuse, because of the threat of disfellowshipping. So this has now proved it!! (Like we didn't know already!!)
Make sure you have lawyers, recording devices and the media with you. They may well DF or DA you in your absence, but it will be recorded by the media and will be yet ANOTHER nail in the JW coffin!

Letters to our local MP are going off in the first class post this morning. have also enclosed a copy of the August Kingdom Ministry on treating disfellowshipped ones.
This should help inform the Government the severe pressure individual Witnesses are under when faced with a serious issue like reporting child abuse.
