To spank or not to spank?

i had a conversation with an active witness from the usa lately.

and when talking about child upbringing he stated that some children need a spank sometimes.

of course i was upset because of that, and i didn't thought witnesses was that stupid.

I had a conversation with an active witness from the USA lately. And when talking about child upbringing he stated that some children need a spank sometimes. Of course I was upset because of that, and I didn't thought witnesses was that stupid. But at home again I started looking into it.

Surprise, surprise! GB teaches that you are to spank your children (for ex. in the family book, 1996), and has constantly through the ages mocked child psychologists who said that beating your children will hurt them.

So why haven't I heard of this? Because the version of the family book in my county differs from the English language version. Here a witness is not permitted to beat their children. And I thought that was a GB policy, but it looks like this is only because we have laws protecting the children from physical punishment.

Am I right here? And to you who lives in USA, do you think it is right to spank your children? And what does the law in USA say about physical punishment for children?

i was just wondering if the dubs still used this form of door to door work.

as i recall there was a time when we would put them in doors that were "not at homes" and handed them to the people at the doors.

what i also remember was the next time we did it i recall it being a big deal to give them at all doors at they were worried about the costs.

No, we can all save time by only delivering WT-litterature. Remember that: "If you spend 15 minutes reading each of Rutherfords books you would get more pleasure than you would reading the Bible for a whole year"

So why waste time on reading the Bible?

Will religion ever be banned?

i was asking because look at all the problems religion are causing :september 11,middle east crisis,waco disaster,clashes in ireland,paedophiles priests,suicide bombings,papal system etc.but think if masses of people protested it my not ban religion completely,but it could make a start to banning it.but the trouble again is that a lot of people want religion even if it is full of @*~t,yeh and why is it that people know theres problems in there religion but wont take a stand,why are religious people are such cowards to the truth.saying that though if i managed to get say jws banned from preaching i would be fulfilling bible prophecy mmm how cool lol

Wo would solve lot's of problems by erasing the human race.

did someone at wts attempt to hack me today?

i don't know, but here is the summary from my event log and domain trace.

this afternoon i received an "alert" on my firewall with an ip address.

The trick is they attempted to open a UDP port, not a TCP port. Can anyone else explaion this better?

In my opinion, that is not very strange.

UDP (User Datagram Protocol), is a member in the TCP/IP protocol suite (defined by Postel RCF 768).

UDP adds a mechanism that distinguishes among destinations within a given host, allowing multiple application programs executing on a given computer to send and receive datagrams independently. In multitasking systems (windows) a process is the ultimate destination for a message. But, because processes are created and destroyed dynamically, senders seldom know enough to identify a process on another machine. And we would like to be able to replace processes that receive that datagrams without informing the sender. Third, we need to identify destinations from functions they implement without knowing the process that implements the function.

Therefor, instead of thinking of a process as the ultimate destination, we will imagine that each machine contains a set of abstract destinations points, called protocol ports.

The sender needs to know both the IP address of the destination machine and the protocol number of the destination within that machine.

UDP uses IP to transport messages between machines. IP carries the message, and UDP adds ability to distinguish among multiple destinations within a given host computer.

TCP adds even more functionality to the UDP, and in implementation, TCP is also substantially more complex.

UDP is used by many programs where reliable stream service isn't needed (which is implemented in TCP)

i don't know where i read or heard that the trial against witnesses and/or rutherford is mentioned in the revelation book in the bible.

(according to some watchtower publication).
