i see these movies lately, that show men and woman having sex as a friends without 'planned' emotions.

who then fall in love, and end up having to admit that sex without emotion was not possible.

i wonder though, do you really think this is the case.

True Bethel Story

i arrived at bethel in december of 1968 on a cold night.

i had the taxi drop me off at the old columbia heights building.

the door was locked so i knocked and was reluctantly allowed in by another bethelite.

Reading these post made me remember one incident when I was there. I received a note at the factory that I also had a appointment with the home overseer. It did not stated why just the time and place. All my coworkers where convinced that I was in deep trouble. Anyway I get there and was informed that I was turned in by my housekeeping. The charge was there was dirt behind the toilet and that it had been there for several days, almost a week. I told he home overseer that I was unaware of that situation but now that we are talking about it, "why didn't the housekeeper clean it up?". Right there and then I was scolded for by bad attitude. Looking back at that I wonder why I didn't see all the bullshit.

Thak You. I particularly like the thoughts you shared about failure. That is one area that I tend to beat myself up with. I have started to change how I feel about failure.

Fatherhood

if god exists and wants me to love him and view him as a father, then why doesn't he act like it?

why is his book so full of unexplained unfairness?

he has no duty to explain unless he wants me to love him.. the concept of god as a father totally escapes me.

I like most people go one with their lives not considering the extent of pain and suffering through out man's history, untill I expeirence pain and suffering. I can not fathom why it has continued for so long. I thought I knew plenty about God. Now there is very little I understand about God. To me it appears to be a concept that many are adament about with such great conviction. All of which is ultimately unprovable. I have a lot of why questions about God. I am equally perplexed in peoples claims and covictions regarding God. I do not know.

I went home to visit my sister today...

i haven't posted on here much recently but i thought out of everything that has happened since my husband and i together left the jw's, this was tame enough and not as drama-laden enough to share.... i have been married and out of the house for only about a year and a half, and since then, i have not been attending meetings after learning the truth about the "truth".

of course, i have caught flack for it but my family is on this new passive-aggressive kick; trying to guilt me about leaving without actually outwardly saying anything.. today, my sister (the new young regular pioneer) invited me (the apostate) over to my mother's house to hang out and maybe watch a movie.

i was responsible for picking the movie.

NewChapter- that is an amazing thought. I am going to keep that one in my back pocket. This is why I keep returning to this website. It really helps me figure things out. I have been so tired of feeling confused and lost. This forum helps me identify what I am feeling. Thank you NewChapter!
