I had left the org (the first time) by the time that whole thing started. I went back to live with my family for awhile while my husband and I were separated and I was starting to come back to being a JW for awhile, and at first, they really got into it every week but it was really just meeting prep, not an actual study. Later on we'd just watch TV but read the text first, that was it. For little while I was at my mom's and she was "studying" one of the brochures with me, I forget which one but it's for people who have never read the Bible before and is ridiculously easy and therefore boring. Basically she and I took turns reading pages, not much else.
When I finally reconciled with my husband and moved back here, I tried just doing the weekly Bible reading with him but it didn't pan out as it was pretty boring and he normally reads the New Testament more (that's while I was still in.) Now that I'm out and learning to be a Christian, we basically discuss Bible topics every day, not because we have to but because we actually want to and enjoy it. Ahhh...much better!
