A blind man went into Macys and took his seeing eye dog with him. When he got to the middle of the store he picked up his dog by the tail and swung him around and around. A horrified clerk rushed up to him and asked what he was doing and if he needed some help. "No," replied the blind man," I'm just looking"

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 01-15-2012 WT Study (TEMPORARY)

If the lifespan of humans is about 80-90 years aren't ALL people "Temporary Residents"? Why waste what few years we have plodding from d2d and sitting through painfully dull meetings. There is so much to learn and so few years in which to learn it.
I am one of those young people who read that WT march of 1969 in my senior year of HS. I was strongly influenced by the attitude of the WT$ not to bother learning anything becuse to do so was "like playing shuffleboard on the Titanic" I feel like an idiot now in more ways than one.
Thanks Blondie, for your commentery and WT quotes. Those that were not in the Borg during the late 60s and early 70s may not realize how emphatic they were about the Great Tribulation being OVER on or before 1975. "Evidently" was not used in talks about the "End" at that time "certainly" was the word . The audasity of the GB blaming the flock for "jumping to conclusions" is infuriating. I KNOW what was said by their representives, COs and DOs I was THERE and I was listening. (unfortunately)

Thoughts on turning 65 today
by Terry intoday is my 65th birthday.. chances are you have no idea what that means.. would you like to know?
turning 65 can only be described using these two words:.
the first: anagnorisis the moment of critical discovery; the discovery of one's own identity or true character.

In a funeral... or when the JWs want to show they're different
by hijosdelawatch ina couple of days ago i went to the funeral of an old age brother in his 80s.. well, that was the typical jw funeral although his daughter and the rest of his family are not witnesses.
as you know the brothers don't wear black clothes nor they show lot of sadness as a "prove" they believe in resurrection.. the problem this time is some of them went too far.
two sisters had red clothing and at the entrance a group of brothers were literally laughing.

Quendi, I''m glad to see you acknowledge the possibility that your experiences with WT$ memorials/funerials might not be typical. I was born in 60 yrs ago and only left recently. During those years I have attended literally dozens of these occasions. More than 10 were family members. Of these, only TWO were not infomercials.
One was my fathers in 1969 and was delivered by his best friend who spent at least half the time talking about my dad. My mother criticised the talk and said the speaker Euligised him. I didn't even know what the word meant but I could tell in her mind it was BAD.
The second was the brother of my stepfather (moms 2ond husband) about 11 0r 12 years ago. Again, the speaker wove the entire outline around the deceaced. He spent at least 15 minutes reading cards that moms BIL had recieved from people thanking him for his kindness, generousity and hospitality. He went into detail of his unique hobies, talents and those he touched. There wasn't a dry eye in the room yet it felt wonderful to REALLY remember and celebrate him.
My point is this: Two out of dozens is the EXCEPTION. not the rule. The WT$ views a memorial like a birthday. They reason that there is danger of giving undue attention to the loved one rather than their message. You could substitute the name of the deceased and the talks virtually all sound the same. There is no comfort in that and like you, I will never set foot in a KH again.

Nic, I'm wondering if the bros/sisters might think the girl in the photo looks too "worldly" to have their sympathy. Glitter nail polish, bare shoulders etc. It's ridiculous to us but the target audience isn't us. It's extremely conservative Dubs and Elders. Just a thought.

Does violence solve anything?
by d infor me i think in some cases violence does solve problems.what do you think..

I believe it does sometimes. As the other posters have said, in defense of self or others. The law states that self defence is legal if the one defending himself uses reasonable force according to what the assailant is using and how dangerous the situation is.
My ex (a true sociopath) died under mysterious circumstances. He had crossed some dangerous people. When he died, many of my problems were solved. So yes, anothers violence solved some problems.
