Unfortunately the English language does't convey a real meaning of a word "cult" . In my native language- Polish - a word "cult " has a positive connontation in it ; by its natural appearance. Poles have the cult of Virgin Mary , and they see the word " cult" as a positive word .

Jehovah's Witness have a cult of Jesus Christ and it is a true cult. There is another word " sect " and it is used negatively in Poland .

But ... if we read the Bible in Acts 28.22 the first christians were called a sect .And in actuality it was a true sect God Yahweh accepted while He rejected the old Jewish religious system.Most were in error while the small sect called Christians were right religion.

So ,Jehovah's Witnesses be it a cult or a sect come out clean in this analysis.

Now , bear in mind how any organization can function in the hostile environment ? Jehovah's Witnesses have plentitude of enemies around them and it should be no surprise to see strange tacticts that must be performed to keep the organization afloat.

Read the books on how Soviet Union came into existence in what hostile environment and what was done there by Stalin to keep the state afloat . How many milions of people were killed !

The Watchtower doesn't kill anyone .Do you know of anyone killed for disagreement with the doctrine of the Watchtower ?

But go back to few centuries ago and read how many were burned at stake in the inquisitions !

So the Watchtower - some might think - should have a right to do the same knowing how horrible sin people commit by leaving the organization and don't believe in God at all.But of course they are not doing it and will not do as it is God of the Bible who will destroy their enemies. We true believers are not to kill our enemies at this time.

Jeremiah and the 70 years. Jewish exile or Babylonian rule?

i have never until a few days ago been able to reconcile the 70 year prophecy with the 587/6 bce date for jerusalems destruction.

although a post was about this in a previous thread by a@g , i would like to explore this more.. when the 70 years are applied to babylonian rule, rather than the jewish exile everything seems to make sense.. to ellaborate for those who haven't come across it, this is how 587/6 does match the 70 year prophecy.. i hope a@g doesn't mind but i have cut and paste his post:-.

the 587 date does match the bible.... (jeremiah 25:11) 11 and all this land must become a devastated place, an object of astonishment, and these nations will have to serve the king of babylon seventy years.".

The chronology of the Watchtower given in the book " Babylon the Great Has Fallen" is excellent proof they have the right christianity God Yahweh accepts today.

You cannot ignore these dates : 607 BC, 587 BC ,537 BC, 517 BC and then 457 BC and 455 BC.

By using these dates we can set up the two periods for true christian religion.

7 BC - 2 BC - 29 AD-33 AD - 36 AD - 70 AD - 106 AD

455 BC + 70 weeks as 7 Times + 70 years or 420 years + 70 years = 36 AD

457 BC + 420 years + 30 or 35 years or 36 years as extra to " 7 Times" = 7 BC - 2 BC - 1 BC + 70 years = 70 AD

70 AD + 36 extra years as God's Name hides the number 72 which is two times 36 years .

You have to deeply go into how I came up with the numbers : 2772 . YAHWEH = 2772 and YAH = 72 or 27.That is why I recommend alt.apocalypse.

God's name may have two times 7 Times so we can add two times 36 years .

1879 AD-1884 AD - 1914 AD - 1950 AD - 1984 AD - 1991 AD.

To come up with the first line we must use the dates 457 BC - 455 BC.

To come up with the second that will be a copy of the first we must use the dates 607 BC ,537 BC and to come up with the prediction of the end of the world for 2011 AD we must the dates 587 BC and 517 BC.

587 BC + 70 weeks as projected into the far future:

587 BC + " 7 Times" + 70 years or as " 2520 days " and "2520 years" + 70 years = ?

587 BC - 517 BC - 2004 AD - 2011 AD

70 years + 2520 years + 2520 days

Bibles to read???

can anyone please give me a little advice on a good bible to use?

after looking around my house i realized that i only have one bible and it is the nwt.

i have tried using the kjv but would like a good one in regular english rather than old english and i have been brainwashed into distrusting all of them.

Any Bible is good to read and it must have 66 books as the minimum and these same 66 books must be in any Bible we want to read .So it stands to reason that if God Yahweh is going to judge the world by His word he will use these 66 books only as they are most widely available to people around the world.
My native language is Polish and the King James Version of the Bible is the best according to me for various good reasons.

One of the reasons is I understood that recently is that King James Bible was first published in 1611 AD and I am predicting the end of the world in 2011 AD and that means we have a 400-year period between these two dates which is reminiscent of Israel's slavery of 400 years.The last letter in the Hebrew alphabet is tau which resembles a cross ; so Jesus can be also included in this period as this last letter can have a numerical value of 400 if you know my posts.So , you can see a good reason for using King James Version of the Bible.

Can the holy spirit be a person???

my mom and i got into a debate about the trinity doctrine.

she claims that the holy spirit cannot be a person which invalidates the trinity doctrine.

she says in genesis that the holy spirit was depicted as "roving about the earth" as an "active force".

Most christian religions are false already based on their doctrine of the Trinity . Jehovah's Witnesses are right but not completely.

Look at words in the title ! I did it on purpose to show you a difference. Jesus is called God just as Moses was called God but they are not Gods literally speaking so to see a difference it is good to write GOD all letters in capitals to show that God Yahweh is the only true God = GOD and LORD . Just like Jesus is Lord .These are two different beings.

The Holy Spirit is not an active force or a person of God . It is simply the spirit . The spirit in a sense that it is a santicifying way God Yahweh works in His people . It is like a force in a sense like when we speak let's do it in the spirit of love = in the way of love.

This spirit can be personified like wisdom is personified in Proverbs 2.

The Holy Spirit is personified but is not a person literally.

The active force of God is everywhere in the universe as God Yahweh continues to create the universe and sustains each and every particle of mattter the universe is composed of. But the Spirit of God is in His true worshippers only now .

John 17.3 and 20.17 clearly show God Yahweh who is the Father to Jesus and Israel is the only true God. You can insert GOD there to make a distinction.

There is nowhere in the Bible where you can find 1/3 of God- the Father,1/3 of God- Jesus Christ and 1/3 of God - the Holy Spirit . If you find it then we have one God in three persons !

Jehovah's Witnesses can be happy to have the doctrine of one true God which puts them well ahead of all organized religions !

But it cannot be true as they cannot all be right at the same time. The same with the predictions you have to sift through them which one is for acceptance.

There was no true christianity after 150 AD untill it was restored by the International Bible Students if you read my posts and the predictions made by the true christian servants from the class of 144000 chosen few count since Christ died.

On what basis people in 999 CE believed the end of the world would happen in 1000 CE ?

But when properly understood they can be combined together.

There is a symbolic week for mankind of 7 days each as 1010 years .

And the days for the evil world order are 6 days within such a week. 6060 years.

The last days here will be then two days as 1/3 of the "6 days" just like 8 hours as 1/3 of a 24-hour day.

2 days = 2020 years.

10 BC + 20 years = 11 AD + 2000 years = 2011 AD

The last days can be here as 2020 years or 2000 years as well if we think about 6000 years and one day as 1000 years.

So since Christ was a 12-year old boy and began teaching we have the last days existing till now.

If we have the end-time era now as proven by me with my calculations based on the Bible we can speak also of the last days of the present evil world order. Just as we can speak about last days of someone who is going to die soon.

The apostle Paul could write about the last days which still continue in the time we live.

There were always wars in mankind's history so giving such a sign would be of no sense unless there is a logic to that !

How I can know that the World War I was a sign of the last days? By establishing a timeframe based on the Bible and within this timeframe the wars count as a sign.

There were many solar and lunar eclipses in the history of man but the solar eclipse on August ,11,1999 AD and the lunar eclipse on January ,21,2000 AD fit the end-time pattern as I have come to understand by using the Bible.

Any solar or lunar eclipse outside the period : 1878 AD - 2012 AD don't count counting from 150 AD forward.

And then all other eclipses within the period 1878 AD to August,10,1999 AD don't count either !
If the war called the First World War had broken before 1878 AD it would not be an end-time sign !

The easiest refutation of Witness Chronology

whenever the prophetic chronology of jehovah's witnesses is criticized, it begins with their commitment to 607 b.c.e as beginning of the seventy weeks and the relevant archaeological evidence.

however, it seems to me that there is an easier way to debate the issue.

why not show them that the so-called day-for-a-year-rule is unwarranted.

If you knew my posts well you would notice the Watchtower came up with the fantastic chronology. Note they are considered as illiterate and unlearnt just the same way as the first christians were viewed and yet they came up with the chronology that someone outside their circle confirmed !

I am not a Jehovah's Witness and see how I am confirming their chronology.

To know about 607 BC it is enough to know the year 1984 AD in our times ! Using that date we cen decode the chronology God Yahweh set up as a special spiritual chronology .It is like a hidden coded chronology for the internal use of the true christians just like the codes are used in the army.

article where the wbts pictured a train heading from 1914 to 1975 where the tracks ended.

her mom is a diehard witness and her dad was smart enough to stay out.

If it is true what you are giving this would be a nice sign to turn our attention also to the religion Armstrong represented and check it out in the light of the Bible.

You heard about Ronald Weinland ? He is conntected to Armstrong and he is predicting the end of the world which shows again we should be interested in religion of those who are predicting the end as they may know something.

Ronald Weinland's views are pretty good and surpass those of most christian religions .When you start with Weinland you already have most christian religions behind you and you are very close to the views of Jehovah's Witnesses .

So then you compare the views of both who share in the date 1975 AD. You task is easy as you have narrowed the search to a few religions.

And then you can add the year 1914 AD and you disqualify Armstrong and Weinland.

you don't need to exaggerate the foibles of jws to get the point across that they are not "the truth".

can you state some facts that show that jehovah's witnesses are not "normal' and that their religion is weird and simply abnormal?.

We don't judge by going or not going to college if a given religion is true or false ! We check the views of a given religious group against the Bible to see how arrived doctrines agree with God 's Word.

Most christian denominations are wrong in many biblical doctrines .

Using the doctrine of hell already we can disqualify most christian religions long time before you reach to whether you should go to college or not !

On the Trinity doctrine most christian churches are wrong ! So you will not go to college when holding a false doctrine and you may die long time before you finish college . Your life must be straightened out at the beginning.

When I consider all aspects what the true christian religion should be I see Jehovah's Witnesses at the forefront.
