Did you have any self righteous holier than though in your congro??
by karter inwe moved to a new congro when we got married there was a pioneer couple who looked down on anyone who wasn't as good as them.. my wife was pioneering i was working my butt off trying to save some money to buy a house (we did) these 2 looked down on anyone who brought anything nice ,we found out they were running down to the welfare for a free handout at the expense of hard working people like me just to look good.. take away the label pioneer they would probably support themselves.. another solo mum living on welfare used to rave on how she pioneered lets face it having the state pay you to bring up one child she had plenty of time on her hands.. i was working on council houses and helped her get one even helped her move into it ,soon after she married the father of her child (he became a jw) after the help my wife & i had given her we didnt get an invite to the wedding they only invited elders , ms , regular pioneers one of my mates who was a pioneer said '' don't know why they invited me don't even know them''.

fast forward after much , much ass licking (you had to see it to believe it ) he became an elder only to be removed a few months later.

I used to be that guy. I was working full time and then pioneering 3-5 months a year. In addition to that I did almost all the upkeep on the hall and volunteered to do talks at the majority of meetings when others would not show up. I was also a huge loner and a loser. But I was the MAN. I was super uber ass kissing 'witness' man, and screw everyone that was not even close to my level of commitment. I look back now and realize what a d-uche bag I was.

the son asks a question regarding how many people will be destroyed during armageddon and how long it will last and the proceeds to give statistics for how many will have to die per day if it lasts for one year!

My favourite memory is when the Superbowl was actually about the game and was not a trumped up media affair of who's who in the celebrity world and it being so drowned out with utter rubbish and fluff like it is now.

Is it "Healthy" for every JW to think alike like they do....

I do not think it is healthy for ANYONE, not just witnesses in general, to act like sheeple and mindless drones. That is why I think it is so hard to stomach organized religion even now. Organized religion and governments and the media and anyone else for that matter, vying for the control over the minds and actions of the masses use that weakness(the fact that 99% of the worlds population are sheeple and mindless) and exploit it to their advantage by instilling fear and using terroristic tactics to have their way with them.

Awesome Vista Home Premium Hack!
by Elsewhere ini'm running vista home premium at home and one of the things about it that sorely disappointed me was the fact that it does not have remote desktop.
you have to pay a lot more for vista ultimate or vista business to get the remote desktop feature.. today i tried out a new hack that turns on the remote desktop functionality and it worked like a charm!.

Do you still pray?
by Layla33 ini was wondering about this the other day before i went to sleep, out of habit and my spiritual beliefs now, i spoke to the spiritual realm above and asked for guidance and protection.. i remember my journey of leaving the jw "borg" (a new term i have picked up here - i like it!
) and at first i refused to pray at all, and then i wasn't sure i wanted to or not, and then i developed my own sense of the higher power above and spirituality and every night before i sleep, i feel blessed to have another day of life, to do it all again.
even on days when i am not having such a good day, i take time to ask the higher realm for strength and direction.

Things You HATED About Being a JW
by minimus inthere were a few things that i hated about being a witness.. i love music and live concerts.
quite often i'd have to play my music privately or hide an album cover for fear it might "stumble" someone.
i hated worrying whether someone was going to somehow get "stumbled.. regarding going to concerts, it seemed that certain artists only came to town on a meeting night and i'd miss the shows.. what did you hate about being a jehovah's witness?.

I despised the fact that I was 'asked' to ALWAYS volunteer on quick builds and other construction projects at my own expense and using my own tools and expertise that I would normally charge many thousands of dollars for. Then they would pretty much expect it always without question. In addition to that, the asinine field service 'time' requirements. Plus all that was mentioned in the posts before this one.

i was assistant to the acct. serv back east where i grew up. i knew how much we were collecting on a regular basis,funny though,we were always out of money by months end. i pondered this and pondered this,i wondered why they would do the last report w/o me...and then it hit me. I JUST DONT THINK THEY CARE THE WOLE SYSTEM IS CORRUPT AND A RIPOFF TO THE "FLOCK"! i did see one time while we were doing an audit an bank account that was not on our list ,i asked about it and well.I'm stupid. they closed that account the month before i started. i was so brainwashed,i actually did believe them at the time.
