Going to meetings to "save face."

going to make this short and sweet but i need some advise again and i kinda need to vent a bit so sorry.😢.

so it has been weeks since the wife and i have been to meetings.

it has been nothing short of wonderful!!!

What's kinda sad about all of this is I have fully explained why this organization is messed up over a period of probably 6 months.She fully knows TTATT but she refuses to do her own research to get it herself.

Same here, If I email her stuff on the org, she will look at it as long as its not from an apostate site. She knows thing are not quite as they seem, but she wont go against the org just in case, I could be wrong.

She doubts the organization as much as I do and she doesn't believe the bible to be inspired by God. It's all about the shunning. She doesn't want to lose contact with her fully in Mom and Dad. I get that.

Same mess, our parents are old and she doesn't want to upset them, leaving the cult is like turning your back on them. Extended family, what do you say to them? She is terrified of going any further down the rabbit hole. Fear has paralyzed her into doing her own research.

She will go off and on to the meeting, I was trying to go and play the long game but It just kills me, truly makes me sick when I hear the lies and manipulation they use to control these poor people, once you are fully awake, you cant causally suck on the tit without gagging.

why do so many witnesses end up coming to forums like this?.

no doubt it is because of the fact that the society disallows any form of sincere questioning of teachings or doctrines or history etc.... if there was open discussion allowed - free of repercussions and punishment, then no one would feel stifled.

if genuine concerns could be raised, then no one would feel smothered or unable to share thoughts... then in turn many would not leave.... but due to the high control, authoritarian culture the society has created, many feel trapped, and end up searching outside of official channels...and leaving the society.....

One Person Baptized at Circuit Assembly

i went to the circuit assembly with my wife yesterday.

i have to keep peace in the family.

there were less than 1,000 people for both the morning and the afternoon sessions.

No word on my ass yet! Last year there were 5, one was elderly around 80 and 4 were born in's. I think people are not so easily scammed unless your a lonely elderly or coerced born in, brainwashed from birth. The growth really is in third world countries but as the internet reaches more and more people so will their decline.

when i was a teenager in the borg i was a dyed in the wool, goody two shoes, squeaky clean,"spiritual " sister.

alot of my peers around me were rebelling and going off the rails but not me.

i was constantly praised for this and even felt a little smug about it ha!.

My wife fits the bill. Parents were and still are very controlling, when we dated we always had a chaperon with us. She never snuck out or got in trouble. She was exemplary in her congregation, pioneered right out of high school. I on the other hand was a rebel growing up, detested authority and had Zero belief in God. Did a 180, came back into the fold, got baptized (I mean brain washed) and got married. Funny made a full circle, now I'm back where I started. I guess I should of listen to my gut.

i am so bad at being worldly, it's not like i gave it a good try, we are just not good at it my husband and i, i see him light up as he has started to read the bible again.

i'm good at being a witness, i am accepted, and hold the same beliefs, i have tried to find somewhere else, if there is a place, why hav'n't jehovah and the angels directed me to it?

Leaving a cult after devoting all your life to it is hard, I agree! I took me some time to figure out how to be Me! The person I was in the cult was not me, I had to fight the real me all my life. The person I am today is the real me, the product of my ancestral DNA, yet unique.

The bOrg uses a lot of control phrases or words like spiritual, guided by the spirit or guided by the flesh and Worldly. They use them to keep you trapped and enslaved to a ideology that's crumbling around them, if they can control your mind they can control you. This is not new all religions use fear and control words like Hell, Armageddon, purgatory, death & paradise to keep you subjected to them. Its time to stop being abused and empower yourself with knowledge, educate yourself about the real world, religions, world history, evolution, science this will release the bonds of superstition and religion.

Just be yourself and strive to make the world a better place, people will gravitate to you, but you have to put yourself out there. We are so damaged by our thinking about people that we shrink back from friendships and new experiences, we are the ones that need to learn to assimilate with mankind again.

Anybody remember those brothers that would harass, and hound the elders into making them, finally, appoint him as an elder himself?

lol, for some reason, i was thinking back to all the many "characters" that were often so prevalent in kingdom halls back in the day.

they are, i am sure, still there now, but fortunately i haven't been in a kh for like 20 years.. anyway, i remembered this one brother, who was dying to be made an elder.

he could not believe he wasn't an elder yet, after sooo many years.

I for one avoided the conversation where they tried to pressure me or encourage me to do more to become a elder. I've always owned my own business and even when I tried to simplify it seamed like it took all I had to make meetings and service, maybe deep inside I had my doubts.

Anyways, their were some in my Hall that dint have the qualifications to be a elder, they kiss so much ass to be appointed. I remember this one fellow who's "Elder" father came down from another state to question why his son was not made a elder yet? After much pressuring and ass kissing they made him a elder, he turned into a little Gestapo, he would snitch on anybody if it gave him a leg up. There were some who really bought into the whole thing but most just wanted the status.

I went to see my Dr about the blood card issue

i booked a double appointment so that she wouldn't be rushed.

i explained that i'd been brought up in the jw's and woken up to what a load of shite it was.

i explained that they have changed the blood card and that the elders in the cong are being told to effectively force people into signing it.

I have never been forced or coerced to sign a death card ever. But if they implement this new rule where they want a card on file for each member as indicated in another post it could out faders who are not ready to come out. In my case, I will tell them I will not be signing anything regarding my medical records unless your my physician which you clearly are not. That's kind of end of discussion.

Now If your in good standing going to all the meeting, field service and participating in the school then you have created a conundrum for yourself. In there minds you are their slave still and need to comply. I have indicated by my absence that their rules are unimportant and I will not comply. I'm not df or da, most shun me and I shun them. I do believe I have made it perfectly clear where I stand without really saying a word.

The Only power they have is the power you bestow upon them.
