if someone is reproved by a judicial comittee but not disfellowshipped, how long does it remain on their record?

5 years and then it's never seen again?

or is it always there in their publisher record?.

Children and the Christian God

my thanks to yoyomamma for inspiring this post.

yoyomamma got me thinking about how god views children, and the rules regarding children who are not "saved" and why.. is this a god you want to worship?.

i'll start with the merciful versions i personally know of: .

Have to disagree with you one more time.

General Christians, as you put it, beleive that they are born-again. The term "born-again" means that they have been given a "new birth" by means of Christ's blood when he died. That is one of the core belief of Christianity.

I am a "Born-Again" Christian, and by no means beleive that children who are not saved go to hell even if they die within hours of being born.

Many people catagorize "Born-Again Christians" under "Fundlementalist Wackos" ... I am not a fundie-wacko.

Quite frankly, I'm tired of reading or listening to that ignorance.

Dinosaurs killed in flood?

i was thrift store shopping as i always do on saturdays, and came across some older jw literature (as i often do at thrift stores) it was a very simple tract, i forgot the title, but it had a picture of the flood, and if you look closely you see a dinosaur drwoning in the flood.

was this really the official position of the society, and is that still the case?

you'd have to be astoundingly ignorant of science to beleive dinosaurs walked the earth with man only 6,000 years ago.. -dan

Did Crisis of Conscience damage you?

it has been suggested, by a man we know, that those who read crisis of conscience, are left with a feeling of despair and are "cast adrift" after reading it.

it is his opinion that the book shouldn't have been written, because it does harm to people.

i do not agree, and would like to hear from anyone who has an opinion to share, so i can print all this out and show it to him.. comments, everyone, please????

Ginger or Mary Anne?

no doubt one of the most ask questions ever.

no matter what age you are (in my case fairly young), you've seen gilligan's island, and heard the inevitable argument (especially amoung men), who do you prefer better: ginger or mary anne.. well, i decided to bring the debate here to jw.com, see if there's an (ex) jw consensus on the issue.. my personal favourite is mary anne, by the way.

they were both very attractive, but mary anne's personalty was more down to earth (or naive) to me, and i find that more desirable.

i just returned home from the hospital.

my sister in law had a mis- carriage today.

it was a very sad day for her and my wifes family.

My condolences to you and your sister's family. I know when my friend had her 5th miscarrage, and the baby was 5 mos., we held a small service at the church for her and her family. It helped them out alot.

Ususally in times like these, it is hard to say anything that can comfort someone. It's best just to be there.

When I left the Jdub's and became a CHRISTIAN (sorry I had to capatilize just for Yadirf), I didn't leave one relgion for another. I left a religion for God.

NIV?

is it just me or does this strangely popular bible add a bit to the word?

here's a 2 small examples.. 2 peter 2:9 - if this is so, then the lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.(niv).

2 peter 2:9 - then the lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, (rsv).

You are the poster boy for the ignorant. I don't expect you to see the message behind the quote. You would rather take things at face value instead of trying to understand them. I think that is why you are a good JDub.

YOU? "A Christian"??? First you don't even have enough respect for the word Christian so as to capitalize it,

I think that you should concentrate on YOUR "salvation". Afterall, mine is secured. If you judge my spirituality by capitalization or lack there of, of a word, then you have some major problems. That is a really petty arguement.

Would you like to hear what I would call you? Hint: It doesn't start with the letter "C"!

To be honest, I do not care what you think of me. The only opinion I hold in reverence is God's.

Just remember this one thing Yadirf - You can be saved. One, accept Christ as your savior, accept you are a sinner, ask Him to come into your heart, and beleive he died and is now ALIVE!.
