Why should we blame God, when he warned us people would behave this way!

Is there any way around this? (Preaching when you don't believe)
by venusinfauxfurs ini figure i can do more to wake friends and family up on the inside than the outside and i didn't come to that decision without a great deal of pain.
i know it's not "the truth" but it isn't a bad life for me,and i still very much believe in god.
the witnesses aren't right but neither are the mormons, the catholics, etc and i have other family devoted to both those faiths.

Your husband whose guilt was covered over with the love of the 'elderly men', did he have a skillset the brothers needed badly? If I was a, hypothetically, a decent lawyer or a tax lawyer with a C.P.A, would I be allowed to sin and get away with it? Was your ex-husband able to get his elderhood back? What was his punishment, if you don't mind sharing it. I know these topics are painful and bring back the injustices and humilation, but they help others to see, how less than humane this men can be. Did these experiences crush your spirtual side, or have you been able to get closer to Jesus with your experiences?

Hedge funds, the Watchtower and the american securities exchange
by Aussie Oz inmany were interested/excited to see the name watchtower on the list of hedge fund investors a couple of months ago, in fact listed as 'watchtower society'.

Good Point Oz, she does not know her Bible, if the angels are directing the work, why is she attributing it to humans? This chick, she is a glory hog, who loves to bask in the glory of Men and Women. When her name is read each month "I love Jehovah so much, I am a pioneer, Look Everyone, Look At Me!" she is so proud of herself.

More apostate hating from the Watchtower
by Igot2bme ini ran across this post on fb-.
the november 15, 2011 study version of the watchtower, has this to say in an article praising jehu's actions against the family of ahab.
"the prophet elisha sent one of the sons of the prophets to anoint jehu as king and to instruct him to kill every male of the apostate house of ahab.2 ki.

This article showed how strange and desperate things are getting for those who claim to love Jehovah. The article was not very Christlike, nor loving or kind, rather a hateful string of words. What will they think of next, call for suicide book case bombers on Apostates?

Why do we have to 'prove' anything to God. (This point made at assembly today)
by PaintedToeNail inthe point was made at the assembly today, that we have to 'prove' our love for jehovah to him.
as i sat there, bored, this thought struck me as odd.
since jehovah is supposed to be able to read 'hearts', why do we as humans, have to prove anything to him, since he already knows us down to our kidneys and would know if we loved him or not.

Painted" I have run into that logic talking to those who belive in Predestination.
"No matter what you do, it does not matter, God has chosen you to go to Heaven or Hell already!'
I reply "So it does not matter if I try to serve God the best I can, since I it has been decided already I can go out and party and sleep around?"
Preacher say's "That is the beauty of it all, you don't know and that is why you need to try, just in case you are chosen!"
My eyes wobble and pop out of my head, he leaves me with more questions, the way you felt today.
Did the CO really say we should be free of "Mens ideas (No Shirts but white ones.) and opinions (Only listen to Sara Brightman.) and rules (You must get at least 15 hours in field service each month. )?" "White CO man speaketh with forked tongue!"

Not a good idea, they build up friendships, interchange of encouragement and stimulate the mind. The gradual morphing of the Halls into a cold, joyless, careless and devoid of humanity entity, cannot be stopped. No Sugar for the faithful!

Seriously, some of these men are being worshiped, like they know something more than the Bible is telling us. The Special diets, how could Prince not see a "Coat-tail rider' like this brother? Prince does not appear to be a stupid businessman or muscian, so how would he allow some false disingenuine lack of humility brother, to feast on his fortune? Just like Gehazi, Anania and Sapphrias, and Diotropes, we will always be plagued by those who pretend to do good, and crave what belongs to Jehovah and Jesus Christ. A positive note, there are a few old COs who, after they retired, have been faithful stewards of the weak, elderly and check up on fatherless boys. This couple is scrutinized closely, as fools say they should spend more time handing tracts out, than practicing real qualities of Christ.

Ridiculous elder ideas and rules
by Juan Viejo2 inin an earlier thread, i went off topic for a moment to share excerpts from an email i received from an active sister living in the midwest usa.
she mentioned that the elders in her congregations were extremely conservative and criticized the flock for using certain colors of highlighters in their magazines.
she also reported that they were all over the sisters for wearing stylish boots or tennis shoes during the winter months.. i know that some elder groups can be very liberal, supportive and loving toward their flocks - while others are exactly opposite to the point that they become overbearing and oppressive.. what have you experienced as far as ridiculous, over-the-top rules and ideas enforced by local elders?.

"White Shirts are the only appropriate shirt to wear." Driving a two door car is not Christlike. Perfume, Short Skirts, Denim, pants for women, Jerry Garcia Ties, answering your cell phone during meeting (doctors on call, Opps.) ect.... If a elder heard you playing Led Zep or Ozzy, your out. Rumors abounded about the brothers expelled at Bethel for listening to Metallica. So our elders were careful to limit the music to Kingdom Melodies.
Matthew 23
Jesus Criticizes the Religious Leaders
1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 “The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees are the official interpreters of the law of Moses. [a] 3 So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. 4 They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden.
5 “Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear robes with extra long tassels. [b] 6 And they love to sit at the head table at banquets and in the seats of honor in the synagogues. 7 They love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi.’ [c]
