I should pick up his book, first I wan't to buy Greg Stafford's book on "Sharp's" rule. I enjoy Greg's brilliant writing style, and love how he is kind to those who he talks to on the net. Hal does not have the charisma Greg does when it comes to JW scholars or xJW scholars.

Why do Elders move to the most expensive area to live, WHO CAN'T AFFORD IT?

in california, we welcome many broken families who are not afraid to work or find a way to live without telling the flock, "we are broke, we might file bk, can you please help us find a home, i am a fulltime servant of god, so can you?
" they complain how they are so broke, "can't make the rent or make if off the food stanmps they get" yet they move to an area where the average home is $900k after the great real estate meltdown.

When I was a teenager I got pumped hard by some users who did not want to work. One of my mentors was a kind and generous, eighty year old elder, was still working, still putting in 40 hours a week at a wharehouse, a former accountant. These flakes (Poor JWs with mental illness or con-men and women, job flippers, lazy suckers.) would come and go, we (Mom, Elder 80yearold, some friends in the Hall.) would provide them with enough funds, even if we were not in a position to do it. I blame this on my mother, who was one of the most beautiful humans, that walked this planet. She was giving out food and clothing to the poor, cooked for homeless in the 1960s-1980s, her RVs were to clean eldery people's homes, homes that were filth. Mom had a unique view of Field Circus, she did not like to report time for taking care of the elderly and poor and mentally ill. My mother was not rich and we lived tough but good, yet her hand was never closed fisted.

The New Elder School, Did It Really Help Teach You Something Helpful?

it appears much of the information the elders learned, went in one ear out the other, a failure to implent it.

Thank design, I have alot of great posts and insights from all of you on this subject. The greatest asset this website has, is the ability to engage with people who are very smart and know Bible doctrine well. We are losing this, as young ones are not showing the interest in the Bible, yet are being appointed as Ministerial Servants who lack a Bible education.

We read of the works John Milton got in trouble for, had to hide some until his death. The same thing applied to Sir Isaac Newton who concealed his views of the Church and his disagreements with some core doctrines. This has been a fun topic for me, enjoying all the post and well writen ideas you have. Jesus did not say he was going to create a two tier system, that of application of his blood he shed for us. I would love to see in the New Testament, the direct words, "You will need the annointed to help apply my blood, to your sins." It does not exist, and the concept that the annointed will be mediators of Jesus Christ between the "other sheep." is conjecture, and oversteping Jesus words. Thank you again, for all the time you took on this subject, peace to all of you!
JamesWood you mentioned some of the ideas were not correct, what is your view to this subject? Does the W.T.S. say the annointed are go betweens mankind and Jesus Christ or some other idea we are missing?

its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

They need to fire the writing commite, or outsource it to some group that knows the Bible and has some brains. How do you sisters listen to this trash which is mental abuse. You do not have to respect a man who beats you up (Maybe she might be trapped economically and has no skills in some third world country?)? Since the elders are afraid to speak out against wife abuse, they qoute the wise old sister who tells Selma to turn the other cheek? Does she live in Iran or Pakistan or some backward country where women have no rights? Sisters are not to have emotions are feel sorry for themselves when they are treated like a doormat. I am sure this kind of wisdom was shared with victims of sexual predators, "hey kids, stop feeling sorry for yourself, ok!". What a crock!
