HS....You are correct. The Societies current stance on suicide is that we cannot fully understand the why of such an act thus we are not in position to judge...

Why did people Jump?
by bboyneko inthis was posted on msnbc.com under an article explaining why people jumped off the twin towers.. years ago, frederick says, a colleague of his set up an experiment where he subjected laboratory animals to excruciating pain.
they could go into another chamber to escape the pain, but if they did they would get their heads chopped off.
other lab animals were allowed to observe this, so they knew what would happen.

Interesting thoughts on the situation.. READ
by Brutus inhey everyone, .
everybody has called for everything from full scale nuclear assault to a more measured response, against targets ranging from the entire middle east to just the perpetrators.
the only country in which arabs can vote for their leaders is israel, where native born arabs are given citizenship.

fodeja,
Would you care to articulate your idea of a just response by the U.S.?
As has been pointed out, the arrest of terrorists seems not to have produced the desired result(the cessation of terrorist attacks) as of yet. The scenes of people dancing in the streets seems to indicate a support for terrorist activities. I personally have mixed feelings about what would be appropriate in this case, however I do feel that this is a challenge to democracy which cannot go unanswered. I am open to new ideas if you have anything to offer and I am looking forward to reading your thoughts on the matter. -

Norm...Thanks for posting the commentary. I am interested in reading his book, however I do not want to waste my time and money if there is nothing more than what could be found in the WT publications.

we see the rules given to the sheep for raising their children and we shake our heads saying, dont they get it?
what is wrong with the org that it cant see how they are treating the youth?

WORKS of the SOLDIER of JAH
by Amazing init is fifteen hundred years before jesus christ.
an israeli soldier of jah stands ready in his place outside the walls of jericho.
finally, as the walls crumble down, many people of jericho scatter and run, including families with babies in mommy's arm, children clutching their daddy's hand.. an israelite soldier see one of these families, and according to his marching orders, runs after this family.

Geeeezz!!....Choppin' baby's heads off!!!..I never saw THAT in any of the dramas. Parents are often encouraged to act out Bible stories with their kids to keep it interesting and make the Bible characters real to them. Maximus quoted some figures to the effect that some 88% of young folks leave the organization. If parents started gettin' that graphic when teaching kids about these stories they'd all leave or those left would be psychotic.

Memorial ultimatum
by Ranchette ini recieved this email and thought i'd share:.
xxxxxxxx.
i heard a piece of gossip the other day from a friend in california that i thought was outrageous and right on par for the borg.... it seems a 20-something sister in a southern calafornia congregation has dedided she is one of the annointed much to the chagrin of her elder body.they have tried everything to disuade her from this path.in a last ditch effort to come up with arguments against her, the elders'wives were sic'd on her and they came up with a piece of information that they felt would be useful...it seems this sister is also pregnant with her first child and is very much looking forward to breast-feeding.so the brothers told her that if she wants to partake at the next memorial she can't breastfeed---because the wine would transfer to the milk and the baby is not annointed!this sister is heart-broken,she feels she must choose between her motherly obligation and her spiritual one!.the advice i passed on to her via my grape-vine was to think long and hard what decision she might make if for some reason her baby needed a life-saving blood transfusion...if the borg won't let her take a sip of wine it will surely not let her save her childs life with a transfusion!.

1) Are you praying regularly?
2) Are you going in field service regularly?
3) Are you doing personal study?
Note that going in field service is considered therapeutic!
This misguided archaic approach to pedophilia as a moral lapse is wrong-headed. The JW judicial process is just not equipped to deal with this complex illness that needs professional attention.
Come to think of it, that is the formula JWs resort to in every life situation that seems difficult. Much more is needed.
How true....from a perceived lack of spirituality to depression, seems those are the pat answers given to solve the problem. I recently had a discussion with a CO about family counseling. Those were the three questions asked. Although he did not directly discourage it, he suggested that I do examine those three areas first to see if I was doing all I SHOULD be doing.

Listenin' to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I'm from the 60's and 70's...love Rock n Roll. It's pretty amazing. Recently went to see the Heartbreakers in San Antonio. My kids went with me. Hope I didn't embarress 'em too much. We seem to share a lot of interest in music.
