Do you think the re-growing of the fig tree could be related to the rebirth of the state of Israel?
I found what you said about honey interesting. Honey would not have been easily come by 2000 years ago before bee hives were invented.
in the story in the gospel of mark, mark writes that jesus is hungry and comes across a fig tree.
mark explains that it not in season yet jesus upon finding the fig tree has produced no fruit kills the tree.. this story makes no sense if literal so do the gun teach that it literally happened?.

Thanks, David. It is interesting to get the opinion of a Jew as you are most likely to understand the deeper things in the Old Testament which a gentile would miss.
What do you think of Matthew 24 v 32? It mentions the fig tree coming into leaf again.
i have a wife that literally cleans the house 24 7. it's hard on our marriage, our son has no natural affection for her.
if we go to an assembly she literally spends two days waxing and polishing the car.
she hand washes all the clothes before go into the washing machine because no machine could ever do as good a job as her.
That sounds like OCD and may need professional treatment. Can she be distracted with trips or meals out?
ran into this lone sister in fs.
today stopped her as she was hiding her wt mag.. i went straight into child molestion and the catholics/ then switched it on the wt.
she tried to tell me all jw are told to go to the police.
I find they look so dejected when out at the doors. They don't look happy or enthusiastic.
I asked the last pair what will happen to all those who died 60 years ago believing things that they would be disfellowshipped for if they were alive today. I did not get an answer.
If I wait long enough perhaps they will believe the same as me!
about two years ago i was challenged by a householder to do the research on the subject.
of course thinking it was all bunk i decided to take a look off the reservation.
much to my surprise a lot of started to make sense and i started to understand the connections between the old and new testament .
Interesting, Steel.
I don't see much evidence for the trinity. In new testament visions God is seen with Jesus sitting or standing at his right hand side. No third person is seen.
i am curious as to what current religion is similar in beliefs and organization to jw's.
i've only come as far as christadelphians.
are there any others you know of?.
The organisation of Christadelphians is not the same as JW's. Each group is autonomous and there is no ruling body.
Some celebrate Christmas and some don't.
Christadelphians believe that no-one goes to heaven at death.
and how long will it last?
and who will come after that, yahweh, as the old testament says or jesus, as the new testament says?
the scriptures say he'll come to the mount of olives, but surely that's a spiritual mount of olives.
I agree with cold steel on this point.
When there is an earthquake in Israel which splits mount Olivet in two, that will be when Jesus returns to the earth.

I like The Searcher's comment
"The judgement starts first with the house of God."
at a recent meeting there was a watchtower article about life in paradise.
they were saying that even when witnesses finally get there they will still be under the strict instructions from the elders and gb.
they may be given jobs that they will find unpleasant, also the preaching work will be ongoing because of all the resurrected people who need to learn about why they are given another chance.
Thanks LifesNotOver and blondie for your time and detailed explanation. I can understand why you would not want go through all that with householders.
There are clearly a lot of areas which are avoided in discussions at the door unless the householder understands the doctrine and presses for more details.

Thanks for the clarification, LifesNotOver.
I have never been a JW so I only know what I hear when they come to the door.
So, who do they say is going to be resurrected? Just dead JW's who have not gone to heaven?
I'm sure I have been told that children and those who have never heard of JW's will be resurrected.
