I have seen a half dozen "return". All missed family and friends, I am not sure they really believe it. They hang out a bit, attend some Sundays...they might be on JVN

OK, things are about to get messy....
by uk_ex_jw ini have been operating as an ex-jw for over five years now.. i was never d/f or d/a - following an unsuccessful marriage to a jw and subsequent divorce, i went through quite an awful period of my life.. i was blocked from seeing my daughter by my ex-wife and her staunch jw family.. slowly my jw friends started pulling away as they didn't want to get involved.. i lost all interest in the organisation, and started to build a social circle outside of the faith.. at this point, my mother was still an active jw.. during that time, my mother wrote a letter to the bethel in london explaining to them what my ex-wife had done, and how she had been supported by her jw family.. the reply ; your son, and yourself need to work on your own spirituality.
jehovah will bless you as a result.. so that was it.. over the last 12 months, myself and my mother have spent a lot of time researching the organisation.
i gave her crisis of conscience which she has read, and now she is at the point where she doesn't believe that the organisation have the truth and hasn't been to a meeting in over a year.. yet, she has been hounded by elder's since this time.. one particular elder - imagine, the hitler-type elder who makes it his business to organise and dictate everyone's lives.

The Watchtower Punished: Society loses legal battle over child abuse case
by cedars init's taken a while, but i've finally managed to put up an article on this remarkable court case.. a link to my article is below:.
http://jwsurvey.org/general-information/the-watchtower-punished-society-loses-legal-battle-over-child-abuse-case.
i've tried very hard to make the article as factual as possible by reading and comparing the various documents available.

Next goal;
Jail time for WTBTS staff and Elders who obstruct justice.
"
Philadelphia (CNN) -- The highest-ranking Catholic church cleric charged and convicted in the landmark child sexual abuse trial will remain in jail for the time being, a Philadelphia judge ordered Tuesday.
Monsignor William Lynn was found guilty Friday of one count of child endangerment, the first time a U.S. church leader has been convicted of such a charge.
The trial marked the first time U.S. prosecutors have charged not just the priests who allegedly committed abuses but also church leaders for failing to stop them. Lynn is the highest-ranking cleric accused of imperiling children by helping cover up sexual abuse.
He was found not guilty on a second count of endangerment and on a charge of conspiring to protect a priest accused of abuse.
Lynn's defense team argued during the trial that their client repeatedly told higher-ups about the alleged abuse and, under strict orders from the late Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua, had no authority to remove priests from the ministry.
On Monday, Lynn's defense attorneys filed a motion requesting that their client be released on house arrest pending his scheduled August 13 sentencing. He could face three-and-a-half to seven years in prison for his conviction on the third-degree felony." Tonight CNN.
Some C.O.s, D.O.s, Elders, GB Members and J.R. Brown in Jail......????? hummm.....

Offering to meet an elder at an odd time works well. The lords work is a big hurry when it can be done in an easy manner.
Ok brother ______ I am Very busy but I will be happy to meet you at___ before I start work Tuesday.....or Wed at 12:00 during my lunch at such and such place....otherwise it will have to wait. If we are meeting alone- it should be a public place- for propriety-you know how talk starts...I need to let you know am a little short on cash right now....I assume are you calling me to borrow money? .......No?
Oh.._____ WHY do you need to meet with me? WHO accused me of WHATTTTT_____? This brother/sister never approached me privately 1st. I will need to call them about this...what is their phone number please? Address? Hummmm...either they are mistaken or are slandering me. Oh my- by the way what is your correct mailing address? You won't tell me? Why? -I think you are not following the lead of the faithful slave brother____, that Korah attitude is dangerous you know....
Stand up to this BS, take names and kick !#!##. I guarantee you most JW elders who pester people are milktoast men who like to bully. They will back down 90% of the time.- If this does not work then, ratchet up the pressure a bit with a letter/call to the "two eye witnesses".

Jim, The Mrs is an ex RE agent, and we have dabbled in RE for years. ANYTHING is only worth what someone will actually pay for it. That said few agents will work hard to get you top dollar. They prefer to get a quick commission for the least expense in advertising and work, the more attractive the price, the quicker the sale. Go on Zillow,Trulia, realtor.com,and search SOLD listings in the last 6 months for nearby lots. Proximity to uttilities, perk tests, views, neighbors and roads make each lot unique. I would certainly get the OPINION of a neighborhood RE agent..then listen to your little voice. We have had some very good transactions by simply chatting over a cup of coffee, making counter offers and sharing the cost of a Realtor or attorney to draw up papers. Its not a good deal unless it's a good deal for everyone....especially if you live in a small town. :)

Thanks again Cedars for your hard work. I have known a number of American JWs who have gone to these other countries to make a little extra $$ offshore. They rarely leave special areas- especially in Islamic Countries. Any preaching is to other ex-pats. Hardly an organized effort.

Jake,
What you are referring to is VERY common. A LOT of JWs do not know about the "forgiveness rules". Many an angry mate has had revenge sex with the EX one last time to make them "scriptually unfree".
The Homosexuality non-adultry policy was STANDARD POLICY pre seventies. We had a couple of young sisters divorce active homosexuals who were "not free" to re-marry because "homosexuality" and "Beastiallity" were not grounds for scriptural divorce.
If you look at the thread "Most disturbing Bethel experiences" I think you can put 2+2 together and figure out WHY some Bethelites in power felt those "bad habits" were not bad enough to get divorced over.

Great post Marvin.
Some poor couples have had KH weddings ruined because "an undisclosed person in the wedding party is on private reproof and not in good standing"...so the bride is forced to uninvite one or more persons from being in the wedding party.- If it is PRIVATE reproof, how is she supposed to know?
Unless all members are in good standing the Hall may not be used for a wedding.
