i recall the moment i heard of this on the radio.

but there was little mention of it in months oryears later.. does anyone know what became of the victims?.

I asked the Elder (on the RBC), Can't they just come through the front door? Or wait till we are hungry? I got a dirty look.

greetings everyone.. just wanted to say hello to everyone, being a new member from western europe.. some may know me from another forum (eden, from e-jehovas-witnesses.com), but most don't, so this is my little intro.. male, in my early 40's.

still an active member in good standing of a jehovah's witnesses congregation in my country, and honestly not planning to change that status, despite my unorthodox beliefs.

sometime i will elaborate the reason why i don't feel i must leave.

I knew a number of JWs (some were family) who differed with WTBTS in the 60s and 70s. Great discussions.

ahhh..they either went "underground" or were disfellowshipped in the 80s for apostacy.

When the elders come a knocking to ask the 3 big questions.....will you lie and give the "company line" or tell them your honest answer ?

The honest answer = disfellowshipping without re-instatement unless you recant your heresy.

seems kinda screwy that telling someone a truth could be wrong.

I would be concerned about any kind of relationship with someone who wanted me in the "closet". Why not just go to a meeting...unannounced..and sit next to him....and see what happens?

What hapens when he reads some fairley nuetral stuff like wikapedia? Or JW survey? Curious...is he able to discuss it openly?

Do the GB 2.0 Travel First Class? What Do You Know About That?

i know bethelites have signed a vow of poverty and recieve about $100 monthly stipends.

however, when it comes to air travel, does the governing body of jehovah's witnesses aka watchtower society in new york state (gb 2.0) travel first class?

what do you know about that?.

I had a few family members who liked to give 0000"green handshakes" to some of the older governing Body members. Of course THEY had an open door at Bethel and called a few members by their first names "Teddy". "Nate" (never me..I was a poor kid) People are people and everyone loves a brown noser...I love my dog...and he is a HUGE brown noser.

Years ago we had these two elders in our section of the circuit who were always trying to get assembly parts etc. SUPER DUPER , DUPER brown nosers who INSISTED on nothing but the best for visiting Bethel mucketey mucks....with the circuits $$....... Resistance was futile....against the Borg.

They claimed if we didn't "go first class" they might not come from NYC........

good jws follow a strict schedule...in fact it is posted in front of the local kingdom hall !

every burglar (and stalker) simply needs to note down meeting times, and follow a few attendees home..and then wait till next week........ we were victims, were you ?

Thought I would BTT this while the new Yearbook experience of the couple spared a plane crash because of attending a meeting is fresh in everyones mind.

For those with mates who never miss a meeting......REMIND THEM: being an unpredictable meeting attender throws off burglars "casing" your home.....

Welcome. I hope your surgery went well and you recover quickly.

About hubby.

Being a GOOD JW is a LOT of HARD work. When he comes home from days away at work don't make it unpleasant for him. 2 hours before the evening meeting make a heavy starchy dinner with his favorite beer or wine, put on a great DVD......he WILL miss meetings. When he goes...don't get upset...tell him you missed him and were lonely.

Have him read Wikapedia and NEWSPAPER articles about JWS. Watchtower Documents website is all JW articles. Have him read some of your RESEARCH. Ask the JW elders if PRe-marital sex is a disfellowshipping offfense....but make no other comment. Kill him with kindness and doubts.

Set up a GOOGLE alert to his email for "Jehovah's Witnesses" and Watchtower Society" he will get some very interesting newspaper stories over time.

If he wants to JUST read the Bible ...encourage it.

Don't allow yourself to be viewed as an enemy.
