my judicial meeting took place on monday night.

i was a bit annoyed because the meeting centered on my private beliefs - things that i've already spoken to the elders about in the past many times before.

i don't think i handled myself as well as i wanted to, but i guess i did ok under the circumstances.

Weight

well today i went to my trainer and i weighed myself.

i weigh a disgusting 258 pounds!

i new record for me.

Gil, Your gonna want to maybe sit down with a trained professional and come up with a wholistic plan that deals with not only your fitness goals but you mental health as well. Not caring if you die and talking about your own death are symptoms of depression and other mental problems. No doubt your weight is affecting your mental health but I would advise getting a check up. -om

Perhaps you suffer from an anxiety disorder that can be treated quite effectivly with medication. Probly Paxil.

How old are you? Perhaps you have esteem issues? Where your parents supportive and nurturing with you?

Just remember other people have the same fears and insecurities as you. Give others the benefit of the doubt.

I feel the same way as Abaddon and Skeptic. This was sent to me by a person I care for a lot. I think I will just accept this as a thoughtful gesture and not volunteer my opinion about how absurd this type of scenerio really is. -om

How Many JWs Fully Buy Into the WT Party Line?

for those of us with years of acquaintance with the wt and its teachings, it's clear that full acceptance of the 1914 date as the establishment of god's kingdom in the heavens is a non-negotiable condition of remaining in good standing in the organization.

many of us know people who've been booted out just for expressing misgivings, lety alone outright denying this teaching.

almost as central, and as non-negotiable, is the teaching that only baptised jws can expect to survive the big a.. .

Yea, I ask my wife how she can have a relationship with a person who is now "worldly" and slated to die by Gods hand at any moment. I can almost see her mental light-swith go off and she basically just ignores me or will say something like, "I am not the judge". I think her solution is just not to think about it(cognitive D at its best). But for me, its a problem. She is running all over town saving peoples lives while I sit at home(actually Im rarely home-more than likely at the gym or studying) and await God's vultures. Deep down I think she must know it bologna but her whole family and life are Jdub and its bocome part of her persona. -OM

... well, in addition to condoms being bad, now the pope says lawyers who work on divorce cases are doing something bad.. poor old guy; he should retire, but he really believes and will likely die in harness or become so decrepit that he is no longer capable and will be replaced.. however, at least jw's don't corner the market in saying stupid things!.

I too thought he looked wax but I asked an UNofficial stander-bye and he said it was the real deal. So I guess I am not 100% certain.

I actually saw tho Pope last month. He gave Christmas Mass and then came out on the balcony to evidently bless the Italian military(I dont speak Italian). Anyway he had a guy standing next to him reading along and every now and then the Pope would stall and the guy standing would point to where he left off on his speech. Personally I thought the dead Popes were more interesting as they are preserved and presented in glass caskets inside St. Peters.

I do agree though that the Catholic Church is doing a lot of good, even in my community. I attend a college run by Catholics(University of Mary), who seem very very interested in helping our community get a quality education. So far everything I have studied has been secular without even the slightest hint of moral propoganda. Good school.

for me, the word was "loving".. great "loving" kindness.. great undeserved "loving" kindness!.

disfellowshipping is a "loving" provision.. when the wtbts want their accolytes to swallow another bitter pill, another restriction, another rebuke, another demand on time, the buzz word is "loving".. the "loving" word, is, to the average jw, the same as the mccabe nod is to the salesman.

the mccabe nod is used by salesman all the time to get the prospective customer to agree to something that he doesn't care for too much.
