I haave a tale to tell about Ouija Boards, My mother prior to becoming a devout JW, dabbled in the occult.My mother had esp, and she could forsee the future, she and her friends had a ouija get together and they were asking the board questions, I guess that spirists didn't like the question, it lifted off the table and flew across the room. My mom was a scary person, when she looked at you it was as if she was looking right through you. On one occasion my mother was home with my little sister at the time and she went down in to the basement and could see the devil sitting under the stair well by our cold storage room was, also a coat on a hook released itself from the wall and flew across the room. She also said that one time, she was in bed and the demons attacked her sexually. Freaky. My mon was like a monster and our lives were very turbulent. Believe me I am not making this up it is all true. So my advise to you and others would be careful what you dabble in.

by jolly_green_giant ini'd like some feedback from any of you guys who've used ouija boards.
i havent tried yet myself but plan to sometime in the near future.
most people who i talked to that have used them said they've usually got negative feedback from the spirits.

Lottery Tickets
by Beans inmy sister is a jw and she buys lottery tickets and says if she wins i will get half and that makes it ok.we also went to the race track and i placed bets for her with her money,i guess if it`s ok in there eyes it`s not considered gambling!!!.
i mean hey the magic kingdom will be heer soon anyways,right?

How about this, you ask the elders to help you and they ignore your pleas? Or how about when your in the hospital for a week and no one from the Kingdom Hall visits including no elders, but people you know who are not JW.s and they visit you everyday and bring you some nice gift or flowers. But narey a thing from the cong. Or how about your mother who is strong in the org and she tells you that your not doing your best spiritually. And if she feels shes not worthy of everlastinglife, where does it put you ? A Goner for sure..or how about your friends talking about you behind your back and you find out from someone else. Or how about a marriage mate who is a fanatic like your mother and at every gathering everyone looks at him as if he were a wierdo,and you wish you could hide, and then how about -when your depressed and people tell you to get a life" in the org. or how about sisters telling you that they want you to go in the ministry with them , but they don't show up. Then you find them shoping in the mall. Oh gee, let me count the ways...Or how about when you miss a meeting no one calls to see if you are okay. Or lets see, when you see families in the hall who are fighting with others in their own family over businesses. Or perhaps its all the lies you have been told about, most of your life.And let me see what about those two-faced sisters who have a Kingdom smile, but just as soon put a knife in your back, and what about those spying elders who follow you around to see if you make a terrible sin to see if you should disfellowshipped for. Do I sound miffed, your right I am. And to hell with them all.

Every active JW that is in here would be disfellowshipped if the elders knew this because they are associating with disfellowshipped persons and that is all the grounds they'd need. The org. trusts persons who imply they are spiritually strong. You know the scripture, bad asssociation spoils useful habits, or maybe some don't think that applies here, The Society tells you over and over to stay out of chat rooms and so in being a strong witness then why do so many come here. My reasoning is that they have developed an urge to see if we might have something or know something that they don't know.Perhaps some feel that maybe the org, is afraid of them being in rooms such as ours,for free they would find out the real truth of what is going on in the Org, and then call into question the veracity of the "Truth".
I don't consider this "SATAN'S PLAYGROUND". I believe that is rather a dogmatic statment. I feel the people in this playground to be sincere and honest. I for one have made many new friends here, and I am sure they would'nt think that this is Satan's play area, any more than i do. We come here for sincerely help and enjoy conversations. To share a certain common bond, if you wish. These are my feeling on the matter and I hope that i have not offended anyone. -

Sorry to hear about your mom, BQE, Like most on the post have mentioned there is always help provided by volunteer group, in Canada we have many such groups and having a social worker get involved in helping your mom would be good, I know this is so because when I was in the org. I had several operations and my son at the time was young and I recieved assistance from government workers, and home makers who do your grocery shopping, clean house and prepare meals for you. All your mom needs to get this help is a letter from her doctor. Yes as Scully suggested, churches have support programs for seniors, the womens auxilarly can also assist. It is a dirty rotten shame that the cong. is failing to support your dear mom and help her in her hour of need. They ought to be ashamed, they bring disgrace more on Jehovah"s name, they preach and teach to help others in need ,but they are so seldom there for you unless your a pioneer or fit into a certian clique, I know this is factual i have seen segregation in the congrations I have been in. Who really are the hypocrites, then? Rest assured that someone will have to pay the Piper. Abuse of the elderly is evident in the fact they have failed your dear mom and I don't blame you for being balistic, so would I. Go get um Tiger. All the best and love to you and your mom

More spying???
by lydia inanyone ever have an experience where a elder or other brother would check around at your home to see who was visiting you??
and then run to an elder about a vehilce - even if te person is not really there??.

Yes spying isn't new. My father was an elder and he did a lot of spying when he thought someone was doing something wrong. He often used my truck to spy on people as I had a new truck and noone new that it was mine. My father even spied on me, as we lived next door to each other and if he saw a car he didn't regconize he'd be at my door and pretend he was working in his yard. I would associate with a couple of my neighbours and that pissed him off so bad, and he would accuse me of getting drunk with these neighbours . My father and mother didn't talk to me for over two years. He would follow me to resturants he kknew i frequented and then when I would leave he would follow me home to see if i was drunk or driving to fast or wrecklessly. Once I passed him real fast and when I pulled over he went by and then I started to follow him. My parents never ever really bothered with me much, they favoured my other three sisters , they could do no wrong. Oh will thems the breaks. But let me tell you he nevered followed me again. Now he is dead, but we made peace sometime before he died, he would roll over in his grave if he knew i was df today.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses evil?
by SexyTeen ini am shocked at the many accusations against jehovah's witnesses in this forum.. i know that i am young, but most of my family are jws and they are good people and i love them.
even my worldly family is very nice and i do not shun them.
the friends in the hall are very nice also.

SexyTeen Yes their are some very sincere JWs, I was one once upon a time, but after much research and seraching, i find like many others here the JWs have manipulated people and conned and covered up much of the main doctrine of the scriptures. They have lied and whitewashed many of the errors they have made on main scriptual doctrine.
I myself was in the org. for 38 yrs and I pioneered and served where the need was greater in Quebec. So I have a long history, my families on both sides were and are JWs, I was 4th generation witness.
Trust me when I tell you, you only need to search for the true answers and you will see for yourself that the org. has mislead millions. May I suggest reading "Crisis of Conscience " by Raymond Franz former memeber of the Govering Body of JW.and see what he unfolds that most JW s don"t realize.
Like I said and I agree with you there are many nice JW's but please read the stories of JW's who are sexual predators, liars ,cheaters, bearing false witness againt others, read how elders abuse their power and how people are supressed and burdened by not being free thinking agents themselves. Learn how you are browbeated when you don't fit in to a certain critera. There is much class distinctions and cliques and heaven help you if you step out of line, some are two faced and smile that Kingdom Smile but just as soon stab a knife in your back. I know this I have been there and its not pretty. Don't be fooled. Jesus Christ would never have treated any of his followers the way many are treated in the congregations all over the world. Am I a synic ? No I am not, I just had my mind opened up to the real truth. Don't delay, research for your self and find out the facts, and i wish you much succsess in your endeavors.PROCRASTINATION IS THE THIEF OF TIME!!
