  Advice please - How dating works in world?

  looking for your advice.

  i was born in 'the truth', homeschooled, washed windows for work, etc.. im rather ignorant of how the whole dating thing works.. .

  i'm sure i'm not the only person on here who grew up 'in the truth' and is/was a virgin in their late 20s, never been to a nightclub, etc., while everyone around them has a family/kids.

  Sometimes volunteering somewhere is a great way to meet someone, if that's what you're into. They'll likely at least be sort of nice if they're into charity work, too. Maybe be choosy about where you go so that no one will see you and complain to elders or something, though.

  If you still believe in God, you could try going to a church. There would be lots of women who'd think an older virgin would be attractive. If you're totally done with religion, disregard the suggestion!

  You could probably meet someone at the gym or some other place where there are people. It doesn't have to be a bar or nightclub.

  Why won't JWs have "civilized" debates with home owners?

  it seems kind of crazy to go to someone's house touting your religion as truth and then not even defend your own beliefs.

  why do jws stop the chat if someone just tries to calmly reason/debate with them?

  i'm not talking about crazy preachers who start slamming bibles and yelling about how they need jesus or something.

  Thanks for the answers, guys! I think it kind of sucks that all JWs have to go out and talk to people. For anyone who's painfully shy or just not good with thinking on their feet, it must be awful. It would probably be a bit easier if they could street witness.

Why do JWs stop the chat if someone just tries to calmly reason/debate with them? I'm not talking about crazy preachers who start slamming Bibles and yelling about how they need Jesus or something. Just people who like a little discourse.

  Is it because their faith really isn't that strong? Is it because they really don't care if anyone else converts, since they themselves are already "saved?" Is it just because they're scared or uncomfortable? Or is it because they just want to leave a magazine and get some coffee after some difficult door knocking? Just curious.

  Just can't miss a meeting, not even on a vacation

  we had out of state company come the past couple days.

  we had a days notice they were coming.

  they stayed 1.5 days and left today because they couldn't miss the wt back home.

  My boyfriend said that whenever he went on a family vacation, his mom found the Kingdom Hall before anything else. Even on longer vacations, she was at every meeting. He said that everyone was so nice to them, and that's one of the reasons his mom liked it so much.

  Do any of you know of a religion that does not believe in the Trinoity?

  i have such internal conflict on the trinity,,,i do not believe it,,,i dont know if it is jw brainwashing.

  Quite honestly, I don't think many churches that aren't crazy fundamental would have a problem with you not believing in it. Most churches are more open to debate and differing opinions.

  It seems their message is more... "God loves me, but he doesn't love you. He also doesn't love most of the people who have ever gone to my church, especially if they've smoked cigarettes with wanton disregard or touched their girlfriend's breast with no regrets!"

  None of the churches I've ever gone to say anything like that. Most churches I've attended stress that God loves everybody and everyone's kind of a butthead anyway. We're no better than anyone else!

  12 a brother now serving at world headquarters was 15 when he was offered a scholarship to a university.

  to his teachers dismay, he did not accept that offer, preferring a career as a pioneer.

  What college degrees are only to glorify the owner of the degree? It must be those lucrative philosophy degrees. Or maybe it's those fine arts degrees. They rake in all the dough, and all of their coworkers at McDonald's praise them all day long.

  Their new website has a lot of publicly visible topics. I don't know if the other one was like that. Anyway, this is a lovely chat. Here are some of my favorites:
