  after several tearful phone calls from new york city and me sticking to my guns i think liza is starting to get the idea that this is long term, and that she has to address her problems before we can address our problems.. .

  get's tough, especially the no sex part, and she plays that card every phone call, promising all kinds of kinky nasty things to me when she comes home.

  All I can say is, Islam is an EVIL religion.

  Islam is based on the ' Old Testement', the difference between it and fundimentalist Christianity, is no difference at all.

  Almost all of the rules and principles that govern being a JW originate within the Old Testament also. If the WT and JW governed the US, you would quickly see this great "theocracy" they talk so much about be reduced to the same religious slavery that's going on in the Middle East.

  Strip away their book publishing attributes will reveal that the WT and Islam are both sides of the same coin.

  Gone for good?

  what would make you come back to the organisation?

  after the 9-11 events, many were scared of what would happen next, and returned to the meetings.

  now that the dust has fallen, in more ways than one, what event in your life would make you reconsider and go back this time for good.. .

  Why the increased "attention" to the inactive if there more attending.

  Indeed.

  I was told by a reliable source the "elder police" have been to my house a number of times for shepherding calls but our house either looked like no one was at home or it was deserted. My guess is that it is more likely that that's the excuse they are using to "Mother Organization" for their lack of zeal in going after their perceived lost sheep.

  I would need a full lobotomy, and someone to walk me into the Hall.

  Very funny.....

  That would be the only conceivable way they could ever get me back into one.

  What Is The Hardest Thing About Leaving The Truth?

  it's hard for me when people still refer to it as The Truth.

  Gagging is right....

  Me and the wife were on our way home from visiting some relatives where the conversation turned to such topics as the sniper, the economy, and the looming war. On our way home she says "I'm so glad I have the Truth. If you let it the world's problem could easily overwhelm you.....blah blah blah....blah....blah...blah...........(even more WT psychobable)........I'm so glad I have the Truth."

  Took everything I had to keep from blowing chunks all over the dashboard.

  The way JW's throw that word "truth" around...it's more of a brand name than a representation of any devotion they supposedly have to God or their appreciation for the sacrifice of Jesus.

  Viet Nam, for whatever reason, was a lost cause.

  Only because of the political "Armchair Generals" in Washington who insisted on running it instead of giving the military the means and the real authority to really do what it would've taken to win.

  it looks like we might really be going to war (they voted against us) iraq is getting an antidote for nerve gas (sounds like they are preparing) i fear that israel will drop a bomb on them.if this happens all hell will break loose.

  does anyone know if they will start drafting?

  Oh...Well....since you put it that way I guess I'd better sell everything I own, run up all my credit, and hurry on back to a kingdom hall then. Everyone knows that I'd love nothing better than to serve out the rest of my time in this "ole system of things" delivering the WT "good news of the kingdom".

  They will stand quietly aside as he is removed and a new democratic Arab leader is put in his place.

  I would suggest that we not be deluded to thinking that all those Middle Eastern dictators, Kings, and religious zealots are clamouring for or are willing to allow an Islamic Democracy in that corner of the world. While I agree that they are content to sit back and watch the US and the UN take out there most mortal enemy, I believe if a democracy is set-up in Iraq, it will quickly be branded as a puppet government answerable only to the US.

  The day I realized faith wouldn't pay the bills

  i was flying back from indiana today, another stressed-filled factory installation - it was goregous and i was pondering as i stared out the window at the earth passing by.

  and i was thinking about what i used to tell the other sisters when i was a regular pioneer when they asked me how i felt about higher education.. i would say, "where would you rather be when armageddon came - out in field service or sitting in some dingy college classroom".

  i really believed that at the age of 18.. and then i would go scrub toilets in office buildings in the middle of the night to put gas in the car while my mind stagnated.

  Top Five Forbidden Watchtower Subjects

  magazines are so bland and lacking in content, it may come as no surprize.

  to you that it's often because a number of topics are 'off limits'.. that is, certain subjects are so troublesome to the watchtower leadership.

  Remember all those articles about JWs being attacked by demons?(Pulling up their night clothes,sexually molesting them,rendering them speechless and unable to walk.)I never see any articles like this anymore.Maybe the demons are nice to them now.

  Yeah...I remember all that quackery. I remember in the early eighties when there was this big write up somewhere that had something to do with the proctor and gamble Logo, the thirteen stars and the half moon being a sign of demon inspiration. A witness family I knew at the time went nuts throwing out everything that had the logo on it.

  Then there's the time my wife threw out all the cabbage patch dolls, smurfs, and all my horror novels claiming that they wre inviting demons into the house and keeping her awake at night. Had the kids afraid of playing The Legend Of Zelda bacause there was magic in the game. It got to the point where those little ole pioneer sisters had more influence in my house than I did.

  It's funny how they like to make fun of Catholics for seeing the virgin Mary in a tortilla chip or a statue of Christ crying when some of thier behaivior is just as irrational.
