Hi again James,
I hope you did not take my above 'post' seriously, it's just my humor! Thats why I signed it 'Love Outaservice'! I don't hate anyone and am very tolerant of all types of views.
Best to you,
Outaservice

my most painful confession
note to simon: i will use some expletives, but i hope that they will be retained as this is intended to be an otherwise civil and thoughtful post to all my fellow ex-jws.
please read on, as this is most painful.
Hi Jim,
The next time we meet in Chicago dinner is on me, even if it has to be 'tofu'!
If you need a place to relax and recuperate our home is always open to you, and we'll 'treat' you so many ways you're bound to like one of them!
Take care Brother, you're in our prayers, and we love ya!

what are some of the stupidest comments made in the watchtower, or by a circuit overseer or elder that you've never forgotten?
the one about" the rapist being human" too, ranks right up there....like we're supposed to feel bad for him?
Birds of Prey are increasing, Armageddon must be near! (1965)

Hi James Thomas,
I HATE YOU!

1. why is anyone ever invited to 'the special talk' when it was always the most boring canned talk of the year?.
2. why is anyone ever invited to the memorial?
it's got to be the most confusing meeting for any new ones to listen to and no one hardly participates as christians are encouraged to do.. 3. i once gave a talk in a kingdom hall and on the stage was an american flag!

3. I once gave a talk in a Kingdom Hall and on the stage was an American flag! Did anyone else ever see such a thing?
4. In the 60's on a visit to Bethel I went to the Bethel library. At the end of the book aisles were different small room decorated with different country themes. At one oriental display there was a Budah God in the room! Did anyone else see this and is it still there?
Are there any others on the Board who have seen some strange things, or wondered about anything?
Outaservice ( who has to say he never did see a 'smurf' at the Kingdom Hall though!)
year ago we used to criticize the 'clergy' because we heard that most of them just bought their weekly sermons!
(not true by the way!).
are jw elders any different?

Are JW Elders any different? Only in the fact that they get theirs free from the Society. And any good reader could give them without knowing anything about the Bible. And it better be word for word, no personal comments!
At assemblies quite often a brother would follow the talks/sermons with another outline to see that the speaker did not change a thing. So much for a need to be spiritually mature! I suspect they did not trust their own Elders and still don't. Yep, 2nd class ministers who need to be constantly watched. Yep, you would probably feel right at home in Iraq. The Society 'loves' you like wolves love sheep!
Outaservice (Who never studied for an hour talk yet!)
.
i have seen the board slow before but sheesh!!!!!!!
i understand the holidays are amoung us, but being that it's friday is everyone out partying (i will be later .
Here, but too tired to type. Still have to get my WATCHTOWER studied too!
Outaservice (who got a new bookbag for Christmas)
on december 10th you posted that within a couple of days you would begin to post a three part series.
do you still intend to do so?
i've been looking forward to it.. i hope that you are feeling okay and that your spirits are high.
Amazing posted on my recent thread 'Lack Of Words' this morning.
Outaservice (Who also is waiting for the 3 part series)
jesus once mentioned that some people would be condemned by their own words.
i think you can also be condemned by your 'lack' of words.. the watchtower in times past would not miss a beat to condemn the catholic church for any unchristian infraction and highlight that in watchtower publications!
to my knowledge nothing at all has been said or printed what-so-ever about the catholic church's priest/pedophile problem to date!

I think they know..............don't they that 'the pot can't call the kettle black'!

" for anyone not that familiar with jw lingo, it is when everyone in the congregation gets together to raise a new kingdom hall in about a week, or a weekend.
kind of like the amish do when they have "barn raisings.
" lol.
The Society/&Brothers used to refer to them as '3 Day Miracles'! When they realized that the Catholic Church was always talking about miracles too, they decided to refer to them as 'Quick Builds'.
Several JW's were hurt on the job over the years on some of these PR projects. Sometimes when you turned on the light switch, the toilet flushed. Of course, not having any windows made things go a little faster.
Our Hall was a 'Slow Build'! It took us 4 years to finish and is as solid as a rock. Yep, no field service for 4 years!
