It was our daily dose of madness which we've sent to the laundry. We get them from time to time - you'll get used to it, I hope. We do.
It takes all sorts, eh?
hi all, i logged off jwd for a few hours and have just come back.
wasn't there a thread here about a 'kicker email' by a disfellowman or jason999 or something?
it's gone or moved or whatever and my inbox says i have an unread message when there isn't one.

so many of us have suffered so much here in our experience with the watchtower cult and at the hands of others.
this afternoon's segment of npr's this i believe reminds us of the liberating power of forgiveness.
i heard it on the drive home and wanted to share it here with you.
G'day dinah,
I certainly don't mean to argue the rights and wrongs of 'that war' (although i do have strong opinions); nonetheless, I was interested in this:
No, those children had brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers and they HATE US
You see, i guess you may have found this when you were there - you were there, weren't you???
But for Mrs Ozzie and I, we view the country in question (Viet Nam) as our second home and we have close ties there. One thing that we have seen and experienced is the exact opposite of what you report i.e. the lack of hate for us that the local population displays. I find them the most forgiving of nations.
I'm sorry you haven't experienced that.
Cheers,
Ozzie

dinah;
Is there meant to be a 'moral'?
We read, we learn, we resolve to act better.
It's simple really.
Burn has alerted us to 'man's inhumanity to man'.
Cheers from downunder,
Ozzie

An incredible story - thanks for reminding us.
I think some of us, certainly Mrs Ozzie and i can, visualise the location where this took place. No matter the rights or wrongs, we can all give a moment in silence to remember those who suffered.

Satan's world--how is it possible for a jw to think that Satan is the "god of this system of things" yet it doesn't mean that all non-jws are worshipping Satan?
So strange this teaching of theirs! It seems to go contrary to their teaching that Jehovah is the Almighty God. Their literature seems to indicate that Satan has equal power - no wonder that dubs are running scared of Satan!
They take the text about Satan being ruler of the world way out of context - but that's nothing new, eh?
You've got West Ham coming in a few weeks!
About time they won something. In the past it's been, "Always the bridesmaid, never the bride!"
i have heard from my father (who is an elder about 50 years old) that there is a great seperating work going on within the org.
he said that almost all of the people my age 25 to 35 have quit going to our hall (about 20 people).
i have not been to a meeting in about 1 year.
G'day thebigdebate and Welcome Aboard!
It's great to have yet another poster from downunder.
Your report of meeting attendance is very interesting (encouraging!) ~ my impression is that mid-week meetings of all kinds (book study included) are becoming a wasteland as far as attendances go and your report seems to confirm it. reminds me of the saying, "Suppose someone called a war, and no-one came!"
Service overseers putting in dummy reports is not an isolated occurrence - many do that, not just for their relatives either!
Cheers, Ozzie
i just received this email.
i don't see this flying for this election, but if obama wins, it might open the door for changing laws in the future concerning who can be eligible for the presidency and who cannot.
old, at the time of barack obama's birth for him to have been a. natural-born citizen.
The forum is not going to be turned into a republican propaganda machine as the election approaches.
