That reminds me of one elder who was a marriage celebrant and in his wedding talk he would tell the bride and groom that they should kneel beside their bed that night to thank Jehovah for the sex they were about to receive! I kid you not... his name is Bob Fowler.. any other aussies heard his wedding talks?

via "new light" of course.
would they truly follow it as scriptual bashing of evil ones forsaking their god jehovah, all this old light changing into new light makes one go hmmm........regards nojw
G'day nojw,
I have a quick answer to your question: Too right they would!
I recently heard a Bethel elder in a judicial case say to a person about to be disfellowshipped: "If it was up to us, we'd stone you to death."
Ahh, isn't being a true follower of Christ enlightening?!
Ozzie
i've been thinking about doing this for almost a year now.. ever since i left i have wanted to go back.. my wife is coming with me too.. it's not just me either, 4 of my closest friends are coming to take a look.. i really do like the people too.. so, it's almost time for me to say goodbye.. because this sunday i shall be going.. i'm off on holiday to madeira again!!!

Come back safely old son. May Pompey's results bring a smile to your face! Maybe the Hammers might win one again before the season ends!

do you believe that someone learns from past...experience?.
there was a measure of disappointment on the part of jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1918, & 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time.... and they also learned to quit fixing dates.
(vindication i, 1938, p 338).
G'day Mac,
You didn't ask us if we knew the next date?
I wonder has anybody heard about the 'new light' ? When's the date when Jehovah will "appropriately act'?
Do you think it might involve some 'tacking'?
Cheers,
Ozzie

G'day Mac,
Pretty sick little scene you've painted for us here, isn't it?
The Writing Department seem to let no opportunity go by without bagging the clergy. The ones I know all have a humble, reverent attitude to God's Word. Of course, in the article you quote, like is not being compared with like, for the object of thankfulness was to the Watchtower magazine and not the Holy Bible.
But the borg wouldn't think that the Watchtower magazine was on a par with the Bible, would they?
Cheers,
Ozzie
i'm new around here please be kind to me.
i have been lurking for a while and finally figured out how to post.. my question to you is.
is jesus the mediator for everybody or just the annointed?.
G'day and welcom Younger Tom,
Are you any relation to Oder Tom? He's visited here often and is you're from the same stock, we will be looking forward to your posts.
Come to think of it, we'll be looking forward to your posts, no matter who you're related to!
Our friend Farkel has given you some references. I could add that in 1979 there was also a QFR asking the very same question as you have asked. Check it out.
Cheers,
ozzie
