Victory for Terrorism

the terrorists won a great victory in spain.

mind you, i'm all for the democratic process...it's great...and had the spanish decided to part ways with the us of it's own volition, great!...however, the socialists were project to not win a majority in this weekends election...that is until the terrorist attack.

now, with the socialist coming into power...and the promise to both withdraw the 1300 spanish soldiers from iraq and to part ways with the us on foriegn policy we can look for more such attacks in other countries.

sixofnine, Interesting that you claim the US is not fighting terrorism... have you spoken to any returning soldiers from Iraq OR Afghanistan? They seem to think (the few I know) that we are fighting terrorism. Mostly what I hear is "God f***ing dammit, what is wrong with these people?" refering to terrorists. Hatred for America is as old as JFK. You know all of that CIA business which almost made the cold war hot? Politics is what keeps the UN from "doing the right thing."

Anyway all of this fighting is going to end when there are no more willing young men (or women?) to scatter their body parts across a road. What will help will be a restructured-infrastucture where there are jobs. If people have jobs and a family and the right to speak freely they won't hate us anymore.

Just take a look at "Red" China. I am amazed at the changes in that "communist" country. When folks are allowed to work and earn money and feed their families and send their kids to school ... heck things look good when life is liveable. Now in China individuals can own their property. What's next? elections?

Freedom and individualism define America. And as the Former PM of Canada said last night on Bill Maher "I would not want to live in a country where some things don't offend me. Freedom means everyone is not like me." I say Bravo to her.

what would you do in a situation like this?.

you're in a hurry, so want to just grab something quick for lunch in a nearby fast food restaurant and then eat back at your desk while you work.

there was a woman standing in front of the condiments area.

Wow Swan, talk about paranoid of outsiders. She probably ran home and told everyone at her next meeting how Satan came face to face with her, and she yelled something to keep the evil Swan away. Maybe someone needs to know how rude this woman was AND how everyone who watched thought she was minus some grey matter.

How about writing an op-ed note to the local newspaper about rudeness in fast food restaurants at lunch time. You can't be the only lunch rage victim. Don't mention dub-dum. Just say how you reached for napkins, said excuse me and this woman turned on you like a banshee. Maybe mention that folks need to watch out for lunch rage at the condiment stand.

Basically she's the idiot.

the verdict: guilty on all counts..............it wasn't quite unanimous, i had one person out of 9 who stood up for me.............it was a kangaroo court if i ever saw one and took all my willpower not to burst out laughing at the "roles" everyone played on cue.

Yeru, Excellent synopsis on the Spanish knee jerk reaction to "their" terrorist attack. AND because the terrorists were able to control the political outcome in the Spanish elections don't think for one moment that terrorism won't continue as long as entire nations cave to the violence. I would call this Blood-Blackmail.

The Israelis fight everyday to stop terrorism. Terrorists will never drink enough blood of their own young people. Like the ancient sacrifices to Baal. Ever wonder why old people aren't foolish enough to strap bombs onto their backs?

As President Bush has said time and time again that no matter who joins our fight we will continue with or without those invited. What does this Spanish reaction reinforce about the UN? That as a peacekeeper they have failed. The UN collective needs to remove their leftist politically correct boot from their asses and use some common sense. PEOPLE ARE BEING MURDERED... not soldiers but civilians. Don't any of you Michael Moore wannabees get that? It might be you next time.

Texas-apostates are wusses

i'm sick-and-tired of this endless debate about which area of the world has the largest concentration of supe-high-quality apostates.. without a doubt, and as the physical facts prove, the pacific northwest is far-and-away the apostate capital of the world.. oh, sure, there're a few decent folks in texas, maybe even one or 2 in the uk, and canada deserves an honourable mention, but look at the facts!.

I've only been a Texan since 1985. And while I do love the Pacific northwest and the Chinese east coast, I've got to say that there are no nicer people on the planet but Texans. Polite is a requirement in public. A good sense of humour (Brits have this too) and the ability to come up with some good ole down to earth metaphor wherever 2 or more are gathered together.

last wednesday, me and my fiance went over to my parents' place for supper.

my mother warmly invited us to attend the spiritual event (as she does every year).

my fiance started first, "yeah, we could have a nice snack while we're there!".

Are you a complete person?

people living alone, usually have to do everything in the house, like cooking, washing, and all kinds of odd jobs here and there.

usually men have their specialties like plumming and electricity, and women are better in cooking and sewing.

but living alone, you have to do all of the above.

Heck sure I can do almost every little thing but why when there are other people who do that stuff better than I do?

During grad school I had a wonderful gal living with me. She did everything at home and took me to the most wonderful food market with fresh everything early in the AM. I didn't go all the time but that was fine because she could go. I did cook once or twice in 2 years but why when she was much better at it? Also she got paid to be a housekeeper which just gets back to what I was saying ... If you do everything yourself, and never rely on another person, especially one who does stuff better than you --- well isn't that lonely and self centered --- not to mention bad for the economy?

i watched the movie "mickey blue eyes" last night on tv, staring hugh grant.

at one point there is a knock at the door and mickey, looking through the peep hole, anounces "its the jehovah bloody witnesses".

there was more insitent knocking and the female occupant replies "they must be really devoted!".

I remember that little boy in A Perfect World. THAT WAS SO SAD!

How about a few seasons back on The Practice when a very petite lawyer was in a coma and her mother (a JW) said no blood because her daughter was also a JW. The other lawyers knew that the coma patient had had an abortion which was against JW-dum. In the end she woke up ok.

The cone heads and snl land shark were hilarious.

In the book Carrie, by S King --- wasn't Carries mother a JW? In the forst movie they had crosses and stuff but I don't recall the book. I think the book just had gory pictures in the closet.

To answer bigboi's question "why would these educated guys " do such a thing? Maybe looking at the corruption in SaudiArabia would help answer that question. From the founding of American oil companies in SA (1930s?) The Saud State has provided not mere necessities but luxuries to their people. Well those families of princes just kept growing and growing. About 2 decades ago many of the subsidies went the way of the dodo bird. Way too many fingers for rubies and diamonds that were left to go around. The absolute lack of any truly good education became apparent. So unlike the physicists of India who get great jobs around the world, those educated by the Saud didn't get the same education. So who to blame? Why the Americans and the Jews of course, I mean maybe we don't sit around drinking thick coffee and watching our horses get a workout while seated (the people) on rare antiques, but somehow we're the evil ones taking $$$ from the diamond encrusted hands of the princes and their brood.

About 2 months ago National Geographic had a terrific piece about this very question.

Instead of building refineries ad nauseum in SA, maybe Amco should have said "Hey, let us mop up that dirty oil for you nomads. Ya'know make the road to Mecca cleaner." Yeah, then this whole problem would've been avoided!

The homicide bombers did NOT all know that they would die. Only the key leaders knew the mission was not hijacking. That report was on 60 minutes and CNN.

Now, Bill Maher likes to shock people. He is witty but in the 9?11 remarks he over stepped acceptable...like when Roseanne grabbed her crotch while singing the National Anthem.
