The Watchtower is NOT a false prophet
by The Quiet One inregarding what some have said here about the wt being a false prophet.. i would like to make my point regarding the wt not being a false prophet... so please, if you can be patient enough to read this, at least try to understand what i am getting at.. a false prophet is one who, according to deuteronomy, makes a false prediction of the future and claims that the prediction came from god, or in other words claiming that 'god has said he will do a certain thing at a certain time' etc.. for example, hypothetically speaking, if someone had claimed: "god will bring about the end of the world in 2010", they would have been proven to be a false prophet, obviously.
but, as an example, imagine a man who claimed the position of a prophet of god, (as moses did, because although he was not the type of prophet that predicted the future.. he was still a prophet or spokesman for god) and that he had publicised worldwide, according to his interpretation of a (for example) prophecy found in the book of isaiah, that the world would end in 2010.. and he had also stated that he was not saying that god will end the world in that year.. but only that there was biblical evidence that god might do so.
that would clearly have been a mistake.

Has any one factored in the number of Bros who would have died during the year (s) ? This must be what 1% ? So is not the increase larger than it looks ?

The great unanswered question - WHO chose the Governing Body to serve as representatives?
by cedars inwho is the governing body?.
put simply, the governing body purports to be a small group of anointed men (currently numbering 7) who represent a much larger group (numbering the thousands) of anointed individuals living on earth today.
in nearly every reference to their position of oversight over the worldwide brotherhood, the governing body refer to themselves as being representatives.... .

But this is getting stranger by the minute Cedars, if they have not covered this in the literature, and if they cannot answer questions, what exactly are they for ?
I thought they were supposed to "feed the sheep" and look after the Lord's "interests" on earth, but if they will not give answers to matters of concern to the sheep, I repeat, what are they for ?

As they have not answered this question in print, which seems strange as people of integrity are usually quite pleased to show where they get their authority from, have you tried writing and asking? perhaps they will then have a Questions from Readers article about it?
Or perhaps a brother or sister reading this could explain it, I really do not understand the bit about 1919 either, bringing up three children at the meetings you can't listen to it all, have they ever explained exactly how and why they were chosen in 1919, what proves they were?

Thank you for posting this. there are no scriptures quoted to support their "belief", they say they are not inspired, so what right have they to make me sacrifice the life of my beautiful children because they happen to hold an unsupportable "belief" ?
I did not realise until recently that they have known for years that the Blood doctrine is not right, but have stuck to it, why ?

I have never looked at the figures this way before, they just seemed to be up year on year to me, even if not by much.
I am not good at math, but with all the annointed who have died since the time of Brother Russell, and nearly 12,000 now, does that not mean that there cannot have been many in the first century who were of the 144,000, and yet they all partook didn't they ?
So how come all those hundreds of thousands of early Christians did not become part of the 144,000 ?
I am confused about this, Bethel should explain.

It is a great story, to give to strangers a chance of life is a wonderful thing. As a Jw I have only recently thought deeply about the blood doctrine, I realise now that there is no scriptural support for a ban on using blood in any way to save life.
I read a great article on the subject, I think it was on JWFacts.com , I have read a lot all of a sudden, I realise that as a witness we do not get the whole story told to us.
I now conclude that the use of fractions, donated by fine people such as in the story, is both hypocritical and immoral if JW's are not prepared to donate blood themselves.
How they have the gall to do so, based on a part of the Mosaic Law about pouring out the blood on the ground, when the rest of the 600 or so injunctions in the Law are ignored now baffles me.
Perhaps I am wrong to think this way, maybe a brother or sister reading this could correct my thinking, I don't know.

I have to agree with Mr Flipper, there is simply no excuse for allowing your children to die for some weird interpretation by men of what scripture says. part of the reason I am on here is because I do not feel I could refuse any treatment for my children that I cannot see God himself condemns.
The history of the Blood doctrine as taught by JW's is a strange one I have found out,if it was so important to Jehovah, how come he did not reveal this life and death matter until a few decades ago ? and I challenge any Jehovah's Witness to defend to me, from God's Word, how it stands in its present form.
I will not risk my children's life for a cult, they are too prescious to me. I love them more than my own life, and certainly more than some men in another country that I have never met who would have me condemn them to death on their dodgy interpretation of scripture.

The media could cause more of a problem if they stomp all over the story at this time. Waiting for a short time, at the minimum until charges are laid makes sense.
Waiting until charges are proven and guilt established would be even better, to jump the gun and get a non-story out may make later wide covearge impossible.
Just my opinion, but as an active JW I hope the whole truth is exposed, I have young children myself and wish them to be safe in the religion of their birth, all three of them are not old enough to protect themselves, and it seems the Holy Spirit is not moving Elders and others to protect them.
