i saw a post on reddit from somebody claiming to be an elder that the jw religion wants to contact all inactives.. some of the responses indicate that some were contacted or had close friends or relatives being asked for their contact information.
some of these people have been out of the jw religion for many years and have moved on.
the ones contacted said the jw informed them about cancelled meetings (as though they would care).
So far we have not been approached. I always view any JW pushing their beliefs or agenda on us as fair game for some forthright replies.
I think this is well known by my JW family, and other local JW's so doubt we will hear anything, if we do it will be a written communication I would think, again fair game for some real truth to be given to them, not least mentioning the woefully, downright dangerous, "advice" they are getting from their leaders.

in an interview on the bbc yesterday, a virus expert laid it on the line:.
he basically said that until the vast majority of people have been infected (or eventually vaccinated) and are then immune from re-infection, the problem will not go away.
in other words, virtually all of us may be infected before a vaccine is delivered, thereby putting all of the at-risk elderly citizens in the uk in a really perilous position.
I think the U.K's inept Right Wing Government has actually back-pedalled somewhat on the " Herd Immunity" nonsense. Even if a bit of that is true, immunity cannot be passed on, so those that survive do so, those that die do so. Immunity is doubtful, especially against a new strain, and those that have had it may have long lasting lung damage, making them less able to manage in the future.
They are now doing what their evident mantra tells them to do, " Too Little Too Late".
They are finally closing Schools etc, but NOW would be the time to put the Country on some sort of managed Lockdown. They will not do this until later.
Their policy, of too little too late, will cost live and jobs etc etc

seriously, i can't help wondering whether their hiatus from meetings and service will alter their post-covid-19 lifestyle once they experience the freedom of life in the absence of the hamster wheel?.
Bit of both I guess, but when they do start full operations again, i do think many will think to themselves " I actually loved not being on the treadmill". And hopefully, their oft mentioned "zeal" will be greatly diminished.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
