  now today this is of course a non-issue.

  the wt has embraced the big bang/old earth etc just not evolution.

  in fact the creator book has some decent info.. however i have a good copy of the 1958 paradise book.

  I can see the problem for JW Org in accepting Evolution by Natural Selection as what it is, firmly established Truth. But, I can also think of ways they can spin the Adam and Eve story, I will not outline them here ! I do not want to help them along in their nonsense ! ( The Bible Chronology may seem insurmountable, but that is included in my way of dealing with the thing.)

  The fact that they are so 19th Century about this, works against them to a huge degree. My own son when about 12 years old, he had been born in of course, thought to himself that what David Attenborough was telling him on the T.V was Truth, and that the JW thing was not. He never became a JW, and was the first mover in getting us to Wake up ! What an Achilles Heel this is for JW's ! There own kids educating them !

  Long may the JW Org stick with their 19th Century nonsense of the Bible being literal truth, and teaching that the Bible stories should be taken literally . It only takes a word or two from someone you love and trust, who knows reality, to start you on the Road To Freedom.

  What was Jesus "anointed" as?

  it is illogical to say that “jesus was anointed as christ”.

  that’s like saying that “jesus was anointed as anointed”.

  the question that needs to be asked is: “what was jesus anointed as?”.

  Good Post as usual Doug !

  And this puts a new viewpoint on the way JW's view it, and you are absolutely right ! It puts further in to discredit the JW concept of a Paradise Earth, this Jesus Messiah would deal with the Evil Spirit Forces, and Heaven would of course then be free of them, the casting down of the Devil etc in Revelation, but this would cause in theory more trouble on Earth, for 1000 years.

  But Heaven would be the ultimate Goal of Christians.

  I am not sure if they have finally decided to make the on line thing permanent, or left the way open for it to go back to real live Conventions at a later date, if they have not done so, I am sure they will, in the near future , make that decision.

  The Conventions, some in expensive Venues, cannot be the money spinners they were, and probably they will make the correct assumption that Donations will increase a little, just after each on line one, as JW Drones show their appreciation for " The best Convention ever ! and all the wonderful Spiritual Food !" LOL, so they will not be out of pocket by any means.

  It always has been, and is now more so, ALL ABOUT THE $$$ !!

  With all the Mountain of Evidence supporting Evolution by Natural Selection, I think the Borg will have to follow slightly more sensible Christian Sects who acknowledge the truth of it, but incorporate that in to their Faith.

  As to the Creation of the Universe they will get away with maintaining that there was a Creator for as long as they exist, I guess.

  The point they miss is this, there is simply NO connection with such a Creator, if there was one, and there god Jehovah, NONE.

  i have a niece who is trying to get pregnant.

  she was telling me her husband had to go to a room with porn in it and masturbate into a cup to get tested.

  i never thought of this before but but how would a jw handle this.

  I once asked an Elder why masturbation wasn't a DFing offence, he replied " because they would have to get rid of all the Bethel Boys, biggest bunch of wankers I know" . Great guy in many ways, but still in.

  Another one of his that shocked me at the time was " you can always tell when... (his youngest daughter)... has a new boyfriend, she doesn't smell so much of Piss".

  Thoughts on Sunning and blood Doctrines.

  i have a couple of thoughts on the blood and shunning doctrines, both of which have been covered well before.

  here, and on j.w facts.com and elsewhere.. but i would like to point out the following, the only scriptures they can use in reality for their blood doctrine are the verses from acts chapter 15. o.t verse are really out of the question, and dishonest to use on their part, as they do not follow most of the injunctions in there!.

  the context of acts 15 is a council of the apostles and others in the jerusalem congregation, to decide what they should ask of gentile christians in the way of behaviours and practices etc, as jewish christians were demanding they comply with the mosaic law, or were, at the very least offended if they did not.

  Yes Rub, "Sunning" was a Typo, and Threads never go the way you think they will, I really wanted to major on the Shunning thing, more than the Blood teaching.

  I think we need to shout far and wide about how Evil Shunning is, and, most importantly I think this now has become the Org's Achilles Heel.

  Shunning takes away the Human Rights of those Shunned, of the JW family of the one being Shunned, and of their JW "friends". But more, it takes away the Human Rights of those who have faded from the Org. Takes away those Rights from Ex JW's !

  How dare the Org impose this Evil upon non members !

  It is indefensible from Scripture, as discussed, but Human Rights should ALWAYS trump Religious Practice, we rightly condemn Female Genital Mutilation, because the Human Rights of the child involved trump the filthy religious practice.

  Let us speak about Shunning until it is done away with by the Org. Think how power will be removed from them ! Yes, if you mess up, you can still be DF'd for Religious reasons, but the fear of Shunning is what stops a Host of J.W's from fading away, especially the young.

  Get Campaigning Folks ! on Social Media and anywhere you can.

  she asked me to listen to a couple of talks and i respectfully declined.

  " What a relief to hear you say that."

  My darling wife said much the same. Eventually. I just left Cold Turkey, no explanations to anybody, including Mrs Phizzy. She did not like the Meetings much, and hated F.S.

  It was two or even three Weeks after I left before she asked " Are we never going back then ?".

  I had intended a gentle, slow, Fade, but by that point had decided it would make me literally vomit to enter a K.H again, so I answered " No, we are not" She nodded, and asked nothing further then.

  We gradually discussed the issue, over the subsequent Months, and indeed years. Until she said one day " No, I would never go back either". It took her longer to get over certain JW teachings and thoughts than me, and she certainly missed her "friends", and especially the children who she loved to see, talk to, and watch grow up.

  I was lucky, I did not know how she would react, but, as a Lover of Truth my Conscience and Personal Integrity would not allow me to stay. Good luck all who are just about leaving !

  I think the Hype around the "End" being so close is whipped up by the G.B, but even more so by the Rank and File Dubs. Every time over the years, when the hype has reached fever pitch, there has been a backlash, when it all dies down, Dubs slacken off, and many leave. The same will happen with this.

  I doubt they will bother with long term inactive ones, Elders are pretty lazy and lax about actual Pastoral work.

  But watch out ! particularly if your fade is in the first two or three years. I did have two Elders call on me after I had been out about 8 years ! it must have been after an Article like this one, which would be about the right timing, the org regurgitates Articles every 4years or so.

  One of these idiots said " The Governing Body have asked us to call on you", WHAAAT ! The G.B do not know me, or those Elders, what crap. The same guy, after I had explained to him that the Bible has no weight with me, insisted on reading a Scripture from some obscure book in the O.T, "Nahum" I think, that used the phrase " Return to Jehovah" to ME ! from the Old Testament ! from a book written to the Jews 2500 year ago, not to me or you !

  It proved to me that the closed minds of Jehovah's Witnesses are incapable of processing what is said to them.
