i've been reading around this subject of late and it seems to make a lot of sense.

mp.. I've watched loads of youtube videos about CT Russell, masonry and the WT. Very interesting stuff. Shocked me when I first learned about it but everything fits. Bit too far for me to travel to see the grave for myself though (like 1,000s of miles! LOL).
Even if there's no truth to the illuminati side of things there certainly is plenty of evidence to show a link with Freemasons.
i really think it is a misconception to say leaving the jw's will destroy you and/or your family.. .
many people here stay as jw's despite posting very opposing views and beliefs.
i understand the difficulty of family reprisal.
I'm not prepared to break a 30+ year marriage, I'm not prepared to break my elderly mother's heart. I'm not prepared to lose my children and grandchild. Yes, it's hard to sit there and listen to, to go out occasionally and knock on empty doors (which is all I do these days) but I can bear it. What I couldn't bear is losing my beloved family. It would kill me. If you can't 'condone it' then that's your problem, not mine. It's my life and I live it as I choose just as everyone has the free will to do.

I've just been reading Springmeier's book 'Be Wise as Serpents' and there's some eye opening stuff in there. Personally I think a lot of it is a bit sensationalist but I'm sure there is some truth in it. I'm sure Russell was a Mason. Even as a child I always felt very uncomfortable with all the masonic imagery associated with the old books/watchtowers. Something felt very 'wrong' about it and I still feel that way about the WT logo. The word 'society' makes me cringe.
I don't believe Rutherford was a mason and I think he 'spoiled' their plans and was a bit of a loose canon, although I'm sure he was influenced in some way by outside forces. As for the WT scheme of things, I get the nasty feeling that the GB, the guys in Brooklyn, are merely puppets of those outside forces. Something is controlling the WTS and the WTS is controlling the R&F. Having said that, at only 7 million adherents the WTS is very small fry, it makes you wonder why anyone in a position of power would bother with it? It is anti government and anti religion, yes, but it doesn't really have the power to change nations.

OneDayillBeFree, I really feel for you! As someone also stuck in with little chance of being able to break free I understand where you're coming from. That feeling of being trapped with no way out is consuming, in my own case is making me become very depressed. I'm in my later years and leaving a husband, children, grandchildren just isn't an option for me. I have my husband who I can talk to even though he doesn't understand, at least he hasn't kicked me out or ratted on me.
I guess you are young as you're still with parents. Could you find a friend to stay with until you get a job and find a place of your own? Talk to your friends outside if you have any. Failing that, is there some kind of counsellor you could go to, to give you some advice. The son of a friend of mine orchestrated his escape for months before he went, no one had a clue how he really felt. But he made sure he had everything in place before he left. Of course it came as a shock to his family and they couldn't understand why he never spoke of it. As far as I know he's doing well. If you feel like killing yourself if you stay then that's reason enough to go as soon as you can but if you do, don't leave everything to chance. Make sure you have somewhere to go and make sure you have some way to earn some money. If you are able to continue in this farce then carry on until you've saved enough to enable you to get away.

Sophie.. I know exactly what you mean... I too have a wonderful family (and friends)... but have the same problem when they start about the FDS etc... fortunately it doesn't happen often (except my mum), usually it's complaints about stupid rules or not agreeing with things. I just try and shut my ears and keep my mouth shut. It boils inside me though!
i've has conversations with certain elder friends but i never gave them a total pummeling, at least i haven't yet.. what about you?.
Yes, my husband (an elder)... he knows exactly how I feel.. about everything. He even knows I go on apostate websites. He thinks I should be free to believe as I wish without interference, even if he doesn't believe the same as me.

This reminds me of a book I just read called 'The Shadow of the Wind' by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. There is a 'Cemetery of Forgotten Books' in it.

Sisters can't wear trousers (pants for the US). Just don't understand this, never have. Maybe 100 years ago when only men wore trousers but women wear them all the time these days and there are some really smart ones. What's the problem? They say that trousers are masculine but that rubbish, there are lots of very feminine styled ones. Ridiculous rule!
